About the home

All three bedrooms, 2 doubles and1 twin have full en-suite facilities with walk in showers and a bath in the ground floor bathroom. A fully fitted kitchen with all modern appliances including dishwasher and washing machine leads into the living area, which is open plan leading out onto a ground floor terrace, ideal for Al fresco dining. A large brick built barbecue is located in the garden. The villa can sleep upto 8, a large sofa bed is situated in the living area, together with satellite TV, DVD and playstation. The pool is private and surrounded by a terrace area with ample sun loungers and umbrellas. Kalligata is a small village with restaurants, tavernas, and local bakery.

The Ionian Islands region

The region is home to several unique Kefalonian villages, all just a few minutes from the villa, including : Kourkoumelata, founded and built by the Vergotis family (friends of the Onassis family). Spartia, a traditional sea captains' village, relatively unspoilt by the onset of time; Pessada, a sleepy village sat at the foot of Mt. Aenos, and overlooking the island of Zante; Metaxata, once home to the famous poet 'Lord Byrom'; Keramies, home to the central council of Livathos, and housing some of the most picturesque mansion houses on the Island. The famous 'Marina Cafe Bar' is just 3 minutes from the villa, and boasts stunning views over the whole of the Livathos Region.

The Kefalonia / Kaligata area

The beach is a 1km walk away through country lanes and has a couple of lovely restaurants where you can enjoy the view over lunch and some of the local wine produced by Panos, the owner of one of the restaurants.The capital of Kefalonia is Argostoli and is just a ten minute drive away from Villa Mirasol. Here you will find a much more cosmopolitan atmosphere with beautiful shops and restaurants. Exploring the island by car is a must and the caves at Melissani and Drogkarathi are well worth a visit. One of the most photographed beaches in the world is Myrtos beach and is situated on the main road between Argostoli and Assos.

We have just got back from staying at the Villa Mirasol and all I can say that the villa is beautiful, it is decorated and furnished to a very high standard and the owners have thought of everything to make a stay there a memorable experience, the outside space with the pool and bbq is a real asset, it was so nice in the evening just to be able to relax, have a bbq and maybe go for a late evening swim,
The beach nearby (Avithos) is a really good beach with an excellent taverna called Preview which we visited a few times, although the villa is quite rural you are not that far from a good choice of supermarkets. You definitely need to hire a car to make the most of your holiday. I would reccomend this villa to anyone who wants to stay in this area of Kefalonia.

Just returned from an idyllic, chilled week at Villa Mirasol, the 4 of us had a ball from arrival to departure.
From the beautiful layout and decor of the villa to the stupendous views whilst relaxing outside, Villa Mirasol was a revelation.
Most stressful decision of the week was whether to just stay and barbecue at the villa after a swim in the pool or enjoy the 10 min walk to Preview taverna at Avithos beach in the evenings to enjoy Panos's food, views and home made wine ( oh and his mum's puds - amazing).

It was our first visit to Kefalonia. We enjoyed the laid back approach to life enormously, Argostoli is a beautiful town ( loved the fruit markets on port side) and breakfast at the Premier an exqusite experience in the town square.
We loved our day out to Assos and Fiscardo, it is a long time since we have visited 2 such beautiful villages .
In fact honestly we just enjoyed every aspect of the whole week, never had a bad moment. The Kefalonian people are so friendly and helpful it is comforting to realise places like this still exist.

Back to Villa Mirasol, Paul and Carole, thankyou for allowing us to share your "special place", it was a privilege.
We would recommend anyone to stay in your wonderful home, everything was perfect ( even down to the magnificent 7 DVD being in your collection - best film ever )
Sadly we could not get round to seeing everything or visiting all the recommended tavernas, so we will just have to return soon!!

We have just returned (Aug 08) from our family holiday in Kefalonia staying at Vila Mirasol. We can say without hesitation it was the holiday of a lifetime. The Island has everything you could wish for and the villa is ideally situated for access to all the island has to offer.We have two teenage children and anyone who has teenage children will know how difficult they are to please, but they had a fabulous time, and frequently visited the safe, vibrant yet authentically greek atmosphere of Argostoli and Lassi.
The villa is just beautiful and the owners have obviously thought of everything and furnished it throughout to an exceptional standard, pure luxury! The private pool, patio and BBQ area is very large with views of the ocean that are simply breathtaking. Whilst the island is amazing with lots to do the local beach (3 mins by car) is just perfect, with a safe sandy beach for children of all ages. The local tavernas on the beach serve the most authentic greek food to die for!! We wholehearteadly recommend Kefalonia to anyone thinking of visiting a Greek Island and especially Villa Mirasol, we will definitely be returning very soon.

The villa is fully cleaned for your arrival. On stays of one week there is a mid week clean available if required at additional cost. On two week stays the villa has a full clean mid way that is included in rental price.

A welcome pack is available if required and can be paid for upon arrival. This will include basic items such as water, milk, bread etc to get you over your first day.
