This modern fully equipped air conditioned 2 bedroom apartment is situated on the lower ground floor of Villa Monika and has a stunning view of the Ionian sea. It has a fully equipped kitchen including: oven, hob, washing machine, large fridge freezer and dining for 4 as well as a lounge area with satellite TV. It is just a 2 minute drive from the nearest beach or 20 minute walk, 2 minute walk to the local mini market and a 20 minute drive from the capital, Argostoli.
There are 3 beaches close by, St Thomas, Trapezaki and Lourdas.
The owners live in the Villa above the apartment.

The Ionian Islands region

Kefalonia is the largest and most picturesque of the ionian islands offering breathtaking scenery, golden sandy beaches and crystal clear waters. At the heart of Kefalonia lies the imposing Mount Ainos that rises to almost 5,000 feet. At its foot the Omala valley with its monastic past is a key centre in the production of Kefalonia's most famous wine, Robola.
Marine life is protected on the island offering a secure environment for dolphins, monk seals and loggerhead turtles. With such a fertile landscape, olive groves, citrus orchards and vineyards are abundant on the island.

Kefalonia / Karavados area

St Thomas beach - A small sandy cove that is great for snorkelling. It is 1.5km or 2 minutes car drive away. There are 2 tavernas situated on the beach. There are many other beaches which are a short car ride away including Trapezaki, Lourdas and Lassi beach (15 mins from apartment).
Argostoli, the capital is a 20 minute drive away and has a vibrant atmosphere with excellent shopping.
St Georges Castle is a Venetian fortress in the Kastro area. The castle is built on a hill 320 m above sea level and has amazing views of the island (20 mins from apartment).
Kefalonia has numerous ferry links with the island of Zakynthos from Pessada and Patras (mainland Greece) from the port of Sami

How to get there

Fly direct to Kefalonia from May to October. Flights depart from several regional airports e.g Gatwick, Birmingham, Cardiff, Luton and Manchester. Companies that fly to Kefalonia between May and October include Thomas Cook, First Choice, Thomson fly, XL and Monarch.
From November to April flights are available to Athens with daily connecting flights to Kefalonia. Ideal for exploring the historical sites of Athens and enjoy a relaxing cafe culture atmosphere in Kefalonia.

Car hire companies within the airport terminal : Easycar, Sixt, Car Hire 3000 or car hire arranged on request.
