The Ionian Islands region
Kefalonia is the largest & most dramatic of the Ionian islands, but caters mainly to families, couples and those seeking the 'more peaceful' holiday experience. The island offers breathtaking mountain & coastal scenery, lovely sandy beaches with crystal clear waters and a unique opportunity to experience a bygone era. From the villa you can see the mighty Mount Enos rising to 1627m (5,300 ft.) - the mountain which dominates the island. The Omalou valley sits at the foot of the mountains and is home to the Monastery of Saint Gerasimos (the patron saint of the island) and the famous co-op winery that makes the wine called 'Robola'. Kefalonia boasts mild (but wet) winters and long hot summers. History is everywhere with Mycenaen tombs only a short distance from the villa, and an excellant archealogical museum on the island. Roman mosaics are to be found at Skala. The world famous Myrtos Beach, picturesque Assos & Fiskardo are top of the 'must see' list. Also a 'must see' are the famous Drogarati cave and the Melissani underground lake to be found in the Sami area.
Kefalonia / Karavados area
Karavados is a traditional village with historic seafaring connections located in the Livathos region of southern Kefalonia. Its impressive church often features in travel guides. The village is less than 15 minutes drive from the airport & the capital of Argostoli. Argostoli has an attractive seafront with restaurants, cafes, shops and the fish, meat, and fruit & veg markets. At night the pedestrianised main street & square come alive with families, couples & people taking a stroll, eating & drinking and enjoying life. The local (2km.) beach of Saint Thomas is renowned for it's crystal clear waters and quiet sandy coves. It also has 2 tavernas & a cafe/bar. Perfect for families & children. The Venetian castle of St. George (the capital until the late 1700's) is a short drive away and offers a worthwhile visit, fantastic views and a delightful cafe/restaurant (To Kastro) near its gates. The resort of Loudas with its restaurants, bars, shops, beach and water sports is a short drive (10 minutes) away.
How to get there
May to October - Charter flights from many UK airports. All year round flights through Athens with a twice daily service during the season & once a day off season. Also ferries from Acona & Brindisi, Italy and mainland Greece. We have an agreement we the local branch of an international car hire company and can arrange car hire at the best prices - please contact us for a quote.

The villa is fully airconditioned, double glazed, screened, shuttered, & centrally heated.
Further details outdoors: The 9m x 4m tiled pool is surrounded by stone paving and connects to the living areas through the shaded outdoor eating terrace. The large greek style Bar-B-Q is convienently situated next to the dining room terrace. Perfect for enjoying the outdoor life and a peaceful & relaxing holiday.
