About the home

Villa Rose is a 6 bedroom luxury Villa and is situated in a peaceful location in Karavados in the South West region of the island.
This Villa is split over 3 floors. The upper floor has 3 bedrooms, the master bedroom has en suite facilities with hydro massage shower and dressing area. There are 2 further twin bedrooms and a family bathroom with whirpool bath and shower. The ground floor has an open plan lounge and dining area, kitchen and double bedroom with shower room/wc.
There is a separate self contained 2 bedroom apartment on the lower ground floor which can accommodate an extra 4/5 people should your party be larger than 8. All bedrooms in the Villa except one have balconies with a mountain or sea view.
It is just a 2 minute drive from the nearest beach, 2 minute walk to the local mini market and a 20 minute drive from the capital, Argostoli.

The Ionian Islands region

Kefalonia is the largest and most picturesque of the Ionian islands offering breathtaking scenery, golden sandy beaches and crystal clear waters. At the heart of Kefalonia lies the imposing Mount Ainos that rises to almost 5,000 feet. At its foot the Omala valley with its monastic past is a key centre in the production of Kefalonia's most famous wine, Robola.
Marine life is protected on the island offering a secure environment for dolphins, monk seals and the loggerhead turtle.
With such a fertile landscape, olive groves, citrus orchards and vineyards are abundant on the island.

The Kefalonia / Karavados area

St Thomas beach - This is a small sandy cove that is great for snorkelling and its shallow water is suitable for children. It is 1.5km or 2 minutes car drive away. There are also 2 tavernas on the beach. There are many other beaches which are a short car ride away including the tourist resort of Lassi (15mins from Villa), Lourdas (5 mins)
Argostoli - The capital of the island is a 20 minute drive and has a vibrant atmosphere with excellent shopping.
Visit St Georges Castle, a Venetian fortress in the Kastro area. The castle is built on a hill 320 metres above sea level - 20 minutes drive from the Villa.
Robola Vineyard - visit the vineyard to sample the local wine - 35 minutes drive.
Drogarati Caves - close to the area of Sami /Antisamos where Captain Corelli's Mandolin was filmed. This underground cave which houses stalactites and stalagmites was discovered 300 years ago and is renowned for its excellent acoustics and concerts are sometimes held there.
Underground Lake of Melissani -A large part of the 'roof' has caved in enabling the visitor a superb view of the extraordinary colours of the water particularly during midday hours.
Kefalonia has numerous ferry links with the island of Zakynthos from Pessada and Patras (mainland Greece) from Sami
Kefalonia is rich in tradition and has many religious festivals and celebrations including 21st May (Union of the Ionian islands), 15th August (Feast Day of the Virgin Mary, 19th & 20th August (Feast of Agios Gerassimos).

Fly direct to Kefalonia from May to October. Flights depart from several regional airports e.g Gatwick, Birmingham, Cardiff, Luton and Manchester. Companies that fly to Kefalonia between May and October include Thomas Cook, First Choice, Thomson fly and Monarch.
From November to April flights are available to Athens with daily connecting flights to Kefalonia. Ideal for exploring the historical sites of Athens and enjoy a relaxing cafe culture atmosphere in Kefalonia.

“Beautiful setting, luxurious and spotless!” Felt at home straight away, everything you could ever want from a villa. Mountain and sea view. Lots of space for us all. Beach 2mins in the car. Fantastic sea food restaurant 5 mins away.Mains town Argostoli only 10mins away. Airport 15mins so centrally located and easy driving. Would definitely book again!
