The largest and most beautiful of the Ionian islands. The 1600m high mount Anios splits the island in two, the northern section full of dramatic scenery and the southern peninsular a mass of sandy beaches. It has a unique geological phenomena with the Drogarati cave and the icy blue Melissani lake.

Absolute perfection - Keli32 Glasgow June 2009
My husband and I were both Kefalonia virgins. We'd also never been on a 'villa' holiday before, so we weren't quite sure what to expect.
I can safely say that our stay far, far exceeded our expectations.
The Villa
Absolute 5 star luxury. The photographs don't do it justice, I promise you. On arrival, we were astounded by just how perfect it was. I normally stay in 5 star hotels (mainly on business, unfortunately) and this place stood head and shoulders above most of the hotels I've experienced. It's bright, airy, modern (but comfortable), fully equipped (with Sky+ and a cracking outside BBQ)...and also completely spotless. We didn't even see as much of the island as we had intended because we couldn't bare to leave the villa.
Most of our time was spent relaxing by the infinity pool or having gin and tonic on the balcony. Eating breakfast and supper looking out onto the ocean (the view will floor you) are memories we will cherish for many years to come. Big double showers and marble bathrooms also helped make it feel like an indulgent luxury.
The island
Kefalonia is a very beautiful place and I can honestly say it has it all. If you want to relax by your own private pool, drinking in the sun and enjoying the villa, you can. If you want to spend time on one of the worlds most beautiful beaches (Myrtos rated 5th in the world) you can. If you want to shop at local markets, take in a coffee, an ice cream or just a walk along the port - it's all there. The restaurants are great and the people are lovely. My husband and I are in our early thirties...and while we like to relax - we also like a bit of fun - so we found a very hip cocktail bar, got dressed up and enjoyed one too many mojitos.
The service
John and Claire were nothing short of fantastic. Communication pre and during the booking was faultless and you really felt like their priority was ensuring you had the most perfect holiday. It was a pleasure giving them our business.
Value for money
If you're looking for a very relaxing, luxurious, sun baked holiday then I urge you to book this villa. In the current economic climate, it was extremely affordable, but still felt like a treat. We even came home with money left over because we spent most of our time in the villa.
We cannot recommend this villa highly enough. It has everything and it really was a holiday of a lifetime. Completely stress-free and without any hiccups or hassles.

One word.. WOW! much more than expected. To satisfy all of our family party of 5 and a baby maybe a tall order, but the villa with the stupendous views, the lovely pool and quality accommodation was perfect. The location enable us to visit the whole island with car journeys of around 1 hour each time. A couple of local restaurants and a mini market shop were within walking distance with a proper supermarket only 10 mins away by car. The airport and capital Argostoli no more that 15 mins. Kefalonia is largely unspoilt (good quality of tourists!) with lots to do, especially enjoyable for walkers and hikers (a good map is a must). Favourite place is Assos with the famous Myrtos beach nearby. The drive from Argostoli to Fiscardo (via Assos) has the most fantastic coastal views. Our favourite restaurants were the Preview in Avythos beach, the Dum Spiro(s) Spero in Svonarata and Diana's in Argostoli. A ferry trip to Lixouri is a must. What made the holiday extra special were John and Claire, who were always available for a chat and to help with information and making sure everything in the villa was just right. The boat ride and swim was just wonderful. Thank you for a memorable holiday in every respect! Hope to be back soon. Love and best wishes from Laki, Pat, Barbara, Warren, Amanda and baby George xx

Villa Flora exceeded our expectations. There are 3 key selling points to Villa Flora - the accommodation, the grounds and the views. Located towards the top of a hill only 15 minutes or so drive from the little airport Villa Flora has the most stunning view out across the sea and on clear days you can easily see Zante.
Accommodation - 3 excellent bedrooms each with an en suite and a large open plan kitchen, dining and lounge made this a perfect place for us and our grown up children and their other halves to stay without getting in each others way. The property was spotlessly clean when we arrived and Claire who greeted us at the door returned mid week to thoroughly clean again. We never ate at the dining room table because the table on the covered veranda seated us all comfortably and the weather was perfect every day. Besides this table had the views. There was a spacious balcony off the two upstairs bedrooms enjoying the same view across the sea.
Grounds - the swimming pool was just fantastic, refreshing, tranquil with an infinity edge overlooking the sea. There is plenty of tiled area around 3 sides of the pool to sun bathe and the large area at the far end by the brilliant brick built BBQ was spacious and a great place to enjoy a pre BBQ drink in the evening while watching the sun going down. The gardens are well kept with some attractive flowers and foliage and some unusual butterflies.
Views - Back to the view again but it is so impressive looking out over the sea and it is fun to watch the very occasional planes coming in to land flying in line with the coast but without in any way disturbing us.
We probably had one of the best family holidays ever and felt the week went far too quickly. We split our time between chilling out at the villa and going to beaches and other small towns and to restaurants. Hiring a car is esential and we recommend the trip up to Fiskardo via Agistoli passing Myrtos beach which is spectacular. Also we went to Anti Samos beach, a location famous from the film and very picturesque.
Vehicular access is quite steep and narrow down a lane to the villa and trying to get the 7 seater Dobolo back up the hill was a challenge best undertaken when empty. However the route continuing down the lane is an easier exit. The roads in the area were generally very quiet so driving was easy.
Villa Flora is in a very peaceful location and for a get away from it holiday it was perfect. We would thoroughly recommend it.

We stayed at Flora for a week with our 3 year old daughter. The Villa itself was beautiful - well laid out and decorated, exceptionally clean and in an amazing location with views down to the sea - eating breakfast on the patio each morning was a real treat.
Despite the cooler weather in Keffalonia in May, we spent a lot of time in the pool which was great as the garden was not overlooked by any other propoerties.
Staying at Flora really requires a car (I'd advise getting something small as many roads on Keffaloina are not suited to large vehicles), but there are many restaurants, shops, etc. within a short drive. We especially liked the restaurant near to the St George Castle.
John and Claire were very helpful throughout our stay (but without being intrusive), making recommendations for restaurants, bringing cakes and beach toys for our daughter.
We'd definately recommend Flora to anyone loking for a relaxing holdiay on Kefalonia.

We have just returned from 2 weeks at Villa Flora and having had a wonderful time would like to recommend this place to anyone looking for something a bit special. The villa is very well appointed and spacious as well as having wonderful views and a fantastic pool. We were there with our two year old son and our friends with their six month old son and Claire couldn't have been more helpful ensuring that we had everything we needed. I'd certainly recommend the beach at Avithos for anyone with young children as it's lovely and safe with a really shallow walk into very blue warm sea. The local Gyros place around the corner serves excellent cheap food and the Olive Tree restaurant about ten minutes walk away was excellent. All in all a truly memorable experience in a lovely setting. You certainly won't be disappointed. Thanks very much John & Claire. The Davis & Marshall families.

The villa was everything we hoped it would be and the weather really played its part – 14 sunny days what more could we ask for? Kefalonia is lovely and we will be back.
The beach at Lass is Great (Makris Gialos). The jet skis and banana boat were great fun. Argostoli Fruit fish and meat markets are great, we used A&B supermarket for everything else which is fine. Sami is nice and relaxed we visited the caves which was very interesting. We picked up the boat trip to Fiscardo from Scala well worth the trip and swimming off the boat. Our favorite for the evening was Assos, so pretty in the evening and relaxed watching the world go by in one of the restaurants. Myrtos beach is a must.

Such beautiful views, gorgeous weather and the best lazy days around the pool with a book and a bar of chocolate. Specially enjoyed the local Mariner Bar and Avithos beach.
Visited much of the island particulary loved Assos and Fiscardo.
You will not be disappointed and most definitely will return.

This is our third visit to Kefalonia and yet again it hasn’t disappointed. The villa is wonderful, very well equipped with wonderful views in a really tranquil setting.
We have visited all over the island with Fiscardo being our favorite. The coastal drive is one of the most scenic on the island. We stopped off at Myrtos beach a truly unique and beautiful experience. A visit to Ithaka is also a must – the home of Odysseus. Beautiful little harbours and crystal clear waters, here legend and myths envelope you as you enter each village.
There are plenty of good places to eat within 5 minutes from the villa. Great supermarkets nearby and fresh produce in Argostoli only 10 mins away. Avithos beach is also only around 5 mins away in the car with 2 great taverna’s.
You will not be dissappointed, Claire & John are really helpful and lovely people. There is a saying that goes you have visited Kefalonia you will return, we have and will again.

Dear John and Claire,
It is 3 weeks tomorrow since we left the villa and Kefalonia and I apologise most sincerely for not getting in touch until now! It has been on my list of "things to do" for some time and finally I have got round to making contact!!
Basically all I want to do, is say, on behalf of all four of us, a huge "thank you" to you both for what turned out to be an absolutely superb fortnight at your lovely villa! Right from the word "go" and soon after our arrival John made us feel most welcome. We had all had very little sleep for some 36 hours or more (Felicity and I had been to a wedding the previous day) and the warm reception (in more ways than one!) that we received was very much appreciated. We popped down to Avithos and the beach when we arrived then returned to Avithos later that evening to have a meal at one of the tavernas which was most enjoyable. The "welcome pack" was most generous and thereafter, the attention, advice and recommendations you both gave us were little touches that one rarely gets.
The island itself is absolutely beautiful and Villa Flora is a smashing base from which to explore it! The village in which it is situated is also delightful and we spent several happy evenings at the "local" enjoying the food, drink and atmosphere.
I am pleased to say that although we managed to see quite a bit of the island we left sufficient of it unexplored so that we can come back again and maybe again after that! As I type the wind is howling outside and we are already nearly knee-deep in leaves. So near and yet so far!
We note that you are already getting pretty well booked up for next summer and deservedly so! You can rest assured that when the time comes for a return visit (hopefully sooner rather than later) then we will not hesitate to look you up!
Until then our very best wishes to you both!

No words can describe the perfectness of this villa and its location on the island. John & Claire are the most perfect hosts you could wish for, they were quite happy to go above and beyond what you would expect from a host or villa owner. They are two truly genuine lovely people and we cannot thank them enough for helping make our stay just so perfect.
The villa was spotlessly clean, beautifully furnished and had everything you needed and more for your stay.Sitting on the balcony drinking a bottle of wine together watching the sunset over the sea was our highlight, we lost ourselves regularly in these perfect moments, the views from the villa are stunning, no photo can do them justice, trust us. The surrounding area was beautiful and the owners were quite happy to give us ideas for days out and things to see. Our favourites were, having dinner at a little restaurant called Preview overlooking Avythos Beach, exploring the incredible beaches the island has to offer, including Antisamos and Mirtos Beaches. Water sports on the island are readily available and pretty reasonably priced.
We would advise that you hired a vehicle for your stay, as most of the beaches and things to see are not within walking distance, driving round the island is pretty easy as most roads are so quiet and of reasonable quality.
I would totally recommend this property to people, we already have to all our friends and family and we hope to return in a group soon. We spent the first week of our honeymoon here, and it was perfect for a romantic hideaway, but it would also suit a family holiday or a group holiday as the villa really is big enough to accommodate six people comfortably.
We strongly urge you to seriously consider this property for your visit to Kefalonia, the island is enchanting and beautiful, this villa is just perfectly luxurious to help you enjoy your stay, and your hosts John and Claire would happily help make your visit the dream holiday I'm sure you want it to be.
Happy Holidaying!!

As a Greek born American who's travelled back to Greece many times since leaving in 1970, it took my American born wife to convince me to try something new for a change.
For the first time in our visits back, we went to a different place than where I was born.
Even though the photos of Villa Flora were very enticing on the website, they didn't do it justice when we saw it in person. Especially lit up in the late evening when we arrived.
I knew we made the right decision in our choice of accommodations when it even impressed my 18 year old daughter, which families with teenagers will attest is a nearly impossible task to achieve.
The place was spotless and very well appointed. Given the time of day, opening the refrigerator and finding the food and drinks (especially the beer) stocked by our hosts, helped complete our long and tiring journey from the states very well.
John had left the pool lights on that evening. A welcomed sight for my 15 year son, who proclaimed that we should stay in Kefallonia for our whole trip.
As everyone scattered to claim their own corners of the house, all came back with wide grins. The place was perfect, even for a jaded American.
John came by the next morning, as promised, to give us a lay of the land. Which we took full advantage of the first day. We drove to Argostoli and had a very nice lunch downtown. Luckily, Kefallonia is incredibly easy to navigate, so we did quite a bit of exploring by car.
As we returned, in the late afternoon, we all soon discovered how great the pool was. Until that day, I never realized that a refreshing swim in your own personal infinity pool should be mandatory in Greece. I'm sure those of you that have walked around in the mid-day sun will readily agree.
John and Claire briefly checked on us daily to insure all our needs were met, which was greatly appreciated. It took about a day and a half to discover all the little shops and small restaurants within minutes of the villa. Including a small grocery store that had the best peaches we had tasted in a very long time.
A very good friend of ours, originally from Kefallonia and also vacationing on the island, took us to around to all the beautiful beaches and attractions.
The best testimonial I can give for Villa Flora however, is how awed our Keffalonian friend was when she saw it. So much so that she suggested we all have our last meal there on the patio watching the sun set. She supplied the souvlakis!
Great for our family

When we arrived on the Saturday night, there were provisions waiting - much appreciated with our 4 grumpy children. We thought this was a lovely additional touch!
The villa was extremely clean and everything was in great condition. The kitchen was well stocked with every utensil and item we could possibly need - including a coffee machine! The whole place was very spacious and decorated in an elegant, but homely way. The views were fabulous and the villa was very near the airport without being at all noisy. We were well placed for many other places, particularly Argostoli (the main town). The pool was fantastic with a well kept garden and wonderful balconies (and fabulous views!)
The owners' communications were excellent, with prompt responses - we'd left everything until the last minute!
Stunning villa in a stunning location.
Highly recommended - You will not be disappointed.
Kefalonia is a beautiful island, with pretty beaches. We really liked the fact that it wasn't very 'touristy'.

What can I say, stayed in Villa Flora Sept 2008, the villa was far better than expectations, really clean, outstanding views blew us away and the decor was just stunning. The kitchen was equipped to a very high standard 'better than at home' there was nothing we wanted for. In terms of the location could not have been better. We will definately come again.

Just returned from 2 weeks in Villa Flora - extremely well equipped and perfect view. Would recommend to friends although steep hill down would cause a problem to some - car can only make it up passenger-less but exercise helped work off some of the calories consumed.
Avithos beach is beautiful and walkable. Coast road to Assos recommended, stunning views but not for the feint hearted. Assos and Anti Sammos beach well worth a visit. Restuarants at Avithos both very good. Lovely Island, Lovely weather and Luxury accomodation - what more could you want?

The setting and the villa took our breath away, the photographs do not do it justice. Everything has been thougt of here and it is truly a home from home. We took our 8 month old baby and my parents and we all had a wonderful time. It was spotless and we put the outdoor bbq to very good use. The only downside was that I came home very envious wishing the villa was ours!!!!
