About the home

A brand new, sea front luxury house: A duplex in a newly built complex with independent houses and a shared outdoor pool. Located in a unique environment with excellent ocean view to the bay of Sami and Ithaka, in the village of Karavomylos and nearby the lake with the watermill. It is surrounded by small taverns, restaurants, small shops, church and a bakery shop. Karavomylos is about 1.5 km away from the town of Sami with the port accommodating the ferry boat twice a day, to and from Patra, Ithaka, and twice a week to Italy. In Sami, one can also find a pharmacy, bank, a small hospital, etc. The crystal clear waters of the Ionian Sea are next to the house in a tranquil beach with huge Eucalyptus trees. The house is tastefully furnished throughout. The only thing you can hear is the sound of the sea.
The site is ideally located for a stay in Kefalonia, since it is at the center of the island. Perfect for families and couples seeking tranquillity and relaxation in a warm and friendly environment.

First floor:
Living room: open-plan living/kitchen/outdoor dining area with patio doors leading to a terrace which overlooks the sea & the private garden. There are stairs leading from the terrace to the garden which is equipped with deck chairs & a BBQ. In the living area there is a comfy sofa, day bed, stool, coffee table, buffet, TV, home cinema, Hi-Fi, large collection of movies & a great marble fireplace.
Kitchen: tasteful, fully equipped with fridge/freezer, dishwasher, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, hob, oven, china, glass, cooking utensils/pots & cutlery. There is also a separate double bedroom with mirror wardrobe as well as a hydromassage bathroom.
Ground floor:
There are a double & a twin bedroom both with marble fireplaces & fitted mirror wardrobes. Their patio doors lead to the private garden. There are also in this floor another fully equipped kitchen, a breakfast nook, a home office & a hydromassage bathroom. There is another separate entrance.
Designed to accommodate 6 people. The luxurious kitchens are fully fitted with hob, oven, fridge/freezer, microwave, dishwasher, toaster and coffee maker. The position of the house makes it an ideal destination for those who want to combine a vacation by the sea and the mountains. The house is fully air-conditioned and a welcome refreshment pack is provided on arrival.
Baby cot, bathtub and high chair on request.
Additional linen and towels are provided for change as well as bathroom cleaning during the week. Extra cleaning service – available upon request.

Zoe has 3 outside areas. A balcony in front of the living room with a large dining table & matching chairs. A private garden with BBQ, sun decks, lounger and beautiful flowers & trees. There is also a small breakfast nook in front of the bedrooms.
The outdoor areas are basic to the house. They are large with spectacular sea views overlooking the bay of Sami and the island of Ithaka. Ideally to spend your afternoon watching the boats passing by. The house is exceptionally well positioned so you don't need to use a car unless you want to explore the whole island. Everything is in walking distance!
A small quiet beach (shingle) with large eucalyptus trees is right in front of the house. Nearest organized beach is Sami at 1.5 km. A 20 min drive from Karavomylos is the famous 'Myrtos' Beach (white sand and pebbles, blue-turquoise waters), voted one of the best beaches in the world.
Other small beaches are only 5-10 min drive away, as well as monasteries and ancient ruins. 'Antisamos' beach, setting of the film 'Captain Correli's Mandolin', is ideal for snorkeling and scuba diving, and is about 15 minutes drive.
Swimming, hiking, horse riding, beach-combing, scuba diving, bird watching, snorkeling, bay fishing, paddle boating and sightseeing. Football, basketball and tennis courts within five minutes walk.

The Ionian Islands region

The Ionian Islands are an archipelago on the west coast of Greece. The home land of Odysseus is a place hard not to fall in love with and a journey you will never forget . Their natural beauty will embrace you and the crystal waters of the Ionian sea so friendly to people will intrigue you. The islands are deeply influenced by the people that passed through like the Venetians, French and British.

They are traditionally called the Eptanese. The seven Islands are Corfu, Paxos, Lefkas, Ithaca, Kefalonia, Zante and Kythira. Smaller islands are spread all around.

The Kefalonia / Sami area

Kefalonia is the largest and most beautiful island of the Ionian. It has a distinct tradition, cuisine and architecture. It has lots of hidden secrets. Vast olive groves, mount escapes, iridescent waters, picturesque alleyways and traditional arcades. It surprises you with the scenic beaches, the roman ruins, the stunning caves, the Byzantine churches, the Homeric sites and the Venetian fortresses.

Kefalonia is spread with amazingly good tavernas (maybe the best food you have ever eaten in vacation). You can also discover walking trails with running waters inside the mountains, bird watching areas, vineyards with excellent wines. But most importantly Kefalonia will give you a taste of what greek philoxenia (hospitality) is after all.
The Capital of Kefalonia is Argostoli at 27 km. Nearest town Sami is 1.5 km away (archaeological sites, taverns, cafes, bars). Drogarati cave with stalactites and stalagmites is 3.5 km away, and Melissani cave lake is only 500 meters away from the house. Sami is a bustling port, with regular ferries leaving to the Greek mainland and Ithaka.

Karavomylos has traditional colourful taverns. There is also a mini market and a bakery near to the house. A "house museum" is located just in the opposite of the houses depicting the old kefalonian life.
In Sami there are a lot of souvenir, butcher, post office, pharmacy, bank, health center, restaurants and bars.
Agios Gerasimos Monastery 20 km. Fiscardo seaside village 35 km. Agia Efimia village with many attractions 7 km.

There are many direct flights from Europe (U.K, Germany,Italy, Holland etc) to Kefalonia from April to October. The rest of the year via Athens.
The airport of Kefalonia (EFL) is 37 km from the house.

The taxi service from airport to the house costs approximately 50€.

The cancellation refund depend on whether or not you are able to re-let the holiday period. Please note that only once we receive confirmation of deposit by email will the booking be confirmed, and the house reserved. If there is a special on, the entire amount must be paid up-front. Bank details will be issued once a request for accommodation is received and the guest wants to book it. A 250 Euro refundable security deposit is also to be paid when the whole amount is due. The security deposit will be returned after inspection at departure.
