About the home

Villa Finikas is ideal for those wanting a peaceful and relaxing holiday. Set in an acre of land surrounded by trees with country views. Just 10 minutes walk to Spartia beach and the traditional village of Spartia with mini market , bar and restaurant. With large infinity pool and terrace area, ideal for large families/groups to enjoy.

There are many activities on Kefalonia for those wanting it, from sea kayaking, motor boats, walking, snorkling, fishing to name a few. The villa is just 10 minutes from the airport and 20 minutes drive from the capital of Argostoli with its many tavernas and shops. Ideally situated to explore the breathtaking sights of the island.

There are two double bedrooms and two twin rooms all en suite with air con, and patio doors that lead outside to terrace or balcony. The master bedroom boasts a corner bath and power shower.

The lving room kitchen and dining area are open plan. WIth open fire place and central heating for winter lets. There is TV with limited channels, DVD, CD players. Fully fitted kitchen with dishwasher and washing machine. There are two sofa beds in the lounge for additional sleeping, travel cots and put up beds are available on request. In the double rooms there is adequate space for an additional single bed/cot if required.

Maid service twice weekly, linen change once a week. English speaking agents to asist you during your stay.

Further details outdoors:
Large 9 by 4.5 metre infinity pool, with steps that lead into it. Sun loungers and patio furniture for al fresco eating. Barbecue and pergola adjacent to the pool area. Upstairs bedrooms lead out to balcony. The villa is in an acre of land in an open space, surrounded by olive trees. It is tranquil and peaceful, down a country lane away from the main road.

A welcome hamper is provided on your arrival, of essentials, such as bread, milk, water, tea, coffee etc.
Guests are asked to arrive at the villa after 2pm on day of arrival and departing guests should leave by 10am to allow for maid service. However, depending on bookings these times may be extended.

Would prefer non smokers, however if smokers agree to smoke oudoors would consider.

Conditions

book via the website, deposit and balance are securley received by either debit or credit card. Once deposit is received your dates are secure.

A damage bond of £200 is required 1 week before departure to cover any damages that might occur. This will be refunded in full if there is no damage , once villa has been checked.

The Ionian Islands region

Kefalonia is the largest of the Ionian islands, with it's clear blue seas and breathtaking scenery. It is very lush and green. It has many beaches along the coast to discover. Mount Aenos dominates the island and is clearly visable from the villa. There are many places of interest.

The ancient St Georges Castle offers spectacular views and is a must to visit. From Spartia beach you can see the island of Zante, a ferry travels daily from Pessada port which is only 3 k from the village. Drogarati Cave is 30 minutes drive with illuminated stalagtites. Melisani lake deserves a visit.

The Kefalonia / Spartia area

Spartia beach is 10 minutes walk down the lane and is great for children. There are two restaurants here where you can dine and drink, the Waterways restaurant offers stunning views of the sea.
Spartia village has a great mini market for essentials with bar/coffee shop and restaurant, larger supermarkets are 15 minutes drive on the way to Argostoli.

Lassi is a large tourist resort, 20 minutes drive with many shops bars and restaurants, long sandy beaches.
Argostoli is the capital, with paved walkway on the harbour front where the local fishing boats come in and you can buy fresh fish. THe large square has many eating places and is a great place to watch the world go by. Argostoli has many shops, speed banks, chemists, hospital, dentists, should you need them.

There are many beautiful beaches to explore, along the south coast is Trapezaki, Lourdas, Kleismata to name a few.
Assos is 30 minutes drive and is a beautiful bay with tavernas by the sea. Further north is Fiscardo and is a stunning place to visit.

Activities include motor sports, sea kayaking, horse riding, glass bottom boat, bowling, and is great for walkers.

Direct flights are available from all major airports with Thomas Cook, First Choice, Easy Jet and Thompsons. FLight time is 3 hours 15 minutes between 28th APril and end of October.

Between October and April you can access the island by flying to Athens then flight from Athens to Kefalonia. Or the coach from Athens to Patra port and ferry across to Kefalonia. Alternatively, fly to the neighbouring island of Zante and ferry across to Pessada port.
