Avisania Villa is a brand-new country house (completed in October 2006) and ready for the first season 2007.
It is situated in the small and typical Greek village of Vassilopoulata: a peaceful and tranquil village, approx. 5 km form the picturesque yachting port of Agia Efimia, embedded in the high mountains of Pylaros.

The famous beach of Myrtos, definitely the most beautiful beach of Kefalonia, is only 10 min drive form the villa. Surrounding Agia Efimia there are numerous clear blue pebble coves and beaches, ideal for snorkelling.
The location is also ideal for nature lovers and hikers. You can walk for example the main road to Agia Efimia. You will pass through an old traditionl village, above the valley of Pylaros and facing Agia Efimia and the sea. Or you can leave the main road and take one of the several paths going through the valley to Agia Efimia. You can also walk to the beautiful monastery of Themata (approx. 4 km), which offers spectacular views.

The Ionian Islands region

Kefalonia is the largest of the 7 Ionian islands. It maintains its own individual character and is untainted by mass toursism. The island is full of contrasts: high, wild mountains in the centre, green valleys and long sand beaches in the south, dramatically dropping cliff coast-line in the west, cypress scenery and charming ports in the north, olive groves and small flint bays with crystal-clear water in the east. It is the perfect place to swim, walk, enjoy glorious vistas, visit historical sites and make new friendships.

Kefalonia / Vassilopoulata area

5 min walk to an old traditional bakery with delicious farmhouse bread.
10 min walk to the next village Makriotika: a lovely tavern with very good Kefalonian food, mini-market.
4 km to the Monastery of Themata, offering spectacular views of the Ionean Sea.
Several paths leading from there to the top of the mountains or to the sea make this place ideal for a walking holidays.
5 km to Agia Efimia: a lof of pebble coves, ideal for snorkelling, car hire, rental of motor- and sailingboats, diving school, tennis cort, ferry to the neighbbour island of Ithaca, taverns, bars, cafés and shopping facilities.
6 km to the most beautiful beach of Kefalonia, the Myrtos beach.
10 km to the impressive beach of Antisamos with crystal blue water.
10 km to the picturesque village of Assos with Mediterranean flair, lovely taverns and a Venetian castle.
15km to the port of Sami and its ancient Acropolis, natural beauties of the island such as Karavomilos, Melissani lake (blue cave), the Drogratti cave (150 mil. years old with rare stalagmites and stalactites), or the Monastery of Grilia (with fascinating views of Ithaca and the Ionian Sea).

How to get there

By a direct charter flight from England, Austria or Netherlands. If there is no direct flight from your country to Kefalonia, then you can take a flight to Athens and get a connected flight to the airport of Argostoli.

The Villa comprises a spacious living room with dining area, fireplace and sofabed (sleeps 2); a modern and fully equipped kitchen; 2 bedrooms (one with double bed and one with twins) and a bathroom with shower/WC. The bedrooms are air-conditioned; all windows of the house are equipped with mosquito screens.

Further details outdoors:
The pool (approx. 4,0 x 7,0 m) and the pool terrace (with 6 sunbeds and sun umbrella) are on a raised position, at the south-western side of the house. This location offers plenty of sun during the whole day and a panoramic view of the sea, Agia Efimia and the surrounding mountains.

On the eastern side a terrace made of natural stone and furnished with comfortable wooden furniture and sun umbrella offers views to the sea. A very old olive tree adds Mediterranean charm and provides shade and pleasant coolness even in the hottest summer months.
