About the home

Our villa, Thimari, is now available. Our luxurious villa is made of stone with private pools, separated by an old traditional house of Kefalonia. The old house has an oven made of stone and a traditional wine maker for everyone who wants to enjoy the agricultural life.

The unique location of the villas can give you the time and pleasure of relaxing in front of the magnificent view to the Ionian sea. Surrounded by olive trees and cypress trees but within easy reach of local shops, taverns, beaches and the famous village Fiscardo, the villa can be your private holiday destination. The warm and stunning sunset is really worth seeing from the villas and something you will never forget.

A welcome pack with all the essentials for the first day is waiting for you as a gift from us.

Further details indoors:
Sleeping up to 6 people in 3 en-suite bedrooms, two as double and one as twin. Two en-suite bathroom with bath and shower in the upper floor, one with modern wet room shower in the ground floor. All bedrooms are equipped with hair dryers. Marble floors extend inside and outside and surround the pools.

The kitchen is fully equipped for a family use and contains fridge/freezer, fan oven, ceramic hob, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine, and every other small device that a modern kitchen has. Satellite LCD TV and Wi-Fi internet connection is provided.

The outside areas include a BBQ, dining area and arbors shaded by trees.The private garden is so beautiful with the roses and all the planted herds that you can find.

Villa Thimari got its name by the plant thyme (in Greek: Thimari), a low-growing aromatic plant of the mint family. The small leaves are used as a culinary herb, and the plant yields a medicinal oil. Stunning sunset view from the pool area and the villa.

Both villas have central air-conditioning units for every room in the house and central heating and fireplace for those who visit out of season. Park space for each villa is available. Suitable for both family and friends vacations. Pets are welcome. Both villas are not designed for people with mobility problems.

Although, the living areas on the ground floor and terraces surrounding the pool are all level surfaces with no steps.Private pools (both pools are 8 x 4m, 32sqm), unheated but in full sun. Outside dinner tables and chairs. Equipped with sun loungers near the pools. Barbecue for use with charcoal.

Prices are per villa per week in euros.
Discounts may be available for over a week booking period.
Check in time after 3pm. Check out time before 12am.
Changeover day Sunday for both villas. Although there is flexibility according to flights.
Deposit 25% by international wire transfer or bank transfer. Please ask for bank account details.

The Ionian Islands region

Kefalonia is the largest Island in the Ionian sea, in the western part of Greece.

Kefalonia has a lot to offer, including some fantastic scenery, golden beaches and famous Greek food. Myrtos, the most famous of these beaches, is a major tourist attraction, and has been ranked fifth worldwide for its beauty, located only 15 minutes away of our Villas.

The Villas are located in the north side of the Island in a village called Vigli, in the province of Erissos. They are near village Fiscardo which is 10 minutes north by car.

The Kefalonia / Fiscardo area

Nearest beach is 5 minutes drive away but within 10 minutes drive at least 4 beaches can be reached. Beaches in northern Kefalonia are all white pebble, small, secluded and often shaded by olive trees. The famous Myrtos beach is approximately 15 min away by car from the villas.Village Manganos with supermarket, fruits and vegetables and taverna is 3km. Fiskardo 8km. Myrtos Beach 20km. Assos 15km. Argostoli 50 km.

Ferries to neighbouring Ithaca and Lefkas can be taken from Fiscardo.Medical facilities available in village of Vasilikades 5km.

Fiskardo has a wide range of restaurants, bars and cafes together with more extensive choice of supermarket outlets, car hire, boat hire, bank and pharmacy. Maganos, the nearby village, has also mini market, tavern and restaurant.

Flying: Direct flights take about 3 hours from most UK airports. Cheap charter flights like Monarch, Fly ThomasCook, Olympic Airlines, First Choice and Thomson flights, are available from the most London Airports. Easyjet is also going to launch new routes from London Gatwick and Milan to Kefalonia for the season of 2012. Flights on the new routes will go on sale from 20th October 2011. If you are not from UK, there are flights from cities like Munich, Amsterdam, Innsbruck, Zurich, Vienna, Copenhagen, Stockholm, Oslo, Prague and Forli directly to Kefalonia Airport (EFL). There is also the alternative of first book a flight to Athens and then a second flight from Athens to Kefalonia. Olympic Airlines and Aegean Airlines are the major airlines from Athens. Zakynthos (Zante) airport is also another option with Easyjet, which is really close with a small ferry from Ag. Nikolaos (Zante) to Pessada (Kefalonia). The Villas are approximately 1 hour from the airport of Kefalonia.

Car Hire: Hire cars can be pre-booked from the airport or on arrival from the following: Hertz, Europcar, Lixouri-carhire and Pefanis
Ferry Boat: In case you are coming by car, you have to take the ship, Strintzis Ferries, from Patra to Sami, kefalonia’s biggest port, or from Kyllini to Poros, Kefalonia’s second port. The duration of the trip is about 3 hours from Patra and about 1 hour and a half from Kyllini. There is also the option of getting to Lefkada and take the small ferry from Vasiliki to Fiscardo, about 45 min. Moreover, direct ferries from Italy are available with Agoudimos Lines and Endeavor Lines from Brintisi and Ancona. In Sami you can hire a car and the Villas will be about 35 minutes away.

“Stunning Villa in Every Way” I actually thought I had already posted this review, but must have been on a different website! My husband and I were lucky enough to stay at Villa Thimari for a week in July. We're never sure when booking these places that look fantastic, in case we get there and the photo's are like 10 years old! We needn't have worried however. First impressions were excellent on approaching the villa and once through the door things just got better and better. We were welcomed by Spiros, and what a lovely warm welcome it was. I'm a bit of a clean freak, and the villa was spotless, courtesy of Mrs Spiros and her lovely husband. All the rooms were decorated beautifully and the furniture was all of very high quality. We quickly went outside to explore the terrace and pool area and the sheer beauty and peace and quiet took our breath away. The only sound is of the crickets calling to each other in the trees and for us this was just perfect. Although Villa Elia is next door, there is no issue with privacy. We only encountered one problem while we were there and that was when the air conditioning broke on the second night. My husband telephoned Spiros, who arrived soon afterwards, and the matter was remedied quickly and with excellent customer service. A couple of days into our holiday Spiros arrived with a homemade mousakka from his wife, which was very unexpected and a lovely gesture - very tasty too! The villa was very well equipped and had everything we needed and the beds were the comfiest I have ever slept in in Greece, and we have been to a lot of nice places in Greece (one tiny thing, maybe a choice of pillows would have been nice, as all the pillows were very plump - fine for me, but not my husband, and perhaps we shoud have asked, and I'm sure it would have been sorted). A car is essential as the villa is off the beaten track, but a 5 minute drive away is Maganos where there are a couple of supermarkets and a nice taverna. A little further on, on the road to Fiskardo, is Anti Pata, with 2 more lovely taverna's - great pizza at The Old Stone House (I think that's right) and then another 5 mins to the gorgeous port of Fiskardo. Lots of trendy restaurants and bars and little boutiques here, but a bit more expensive. All in all this was one of our favourite holidays ever and we hope to return very soon. Would recommend to anyone looking for a total chilled out relaxing break. Paradise. And thank you to Spiros and Mrs Spiros, Gerry and Georgia.

“An idyllic retreat with spectacular views, stylishly designed and comfortably furnished.” We have just returned from a relaxing week at the Villa Thimari and can't wait to go back. The spectacular views over the sea below and down the north west side of the island  from the various pretty terraces and balconies, all comfortably furnished, combined with the pool and pretty gardens made the villa an idyllic retreat. Inside the villa is contemporary and stylish, pristine and comfortable with a hint of luxury and with the added benefit of free wifi. The nearest tavernas shops and beaches are all within a couple of miles, which  was convenient but also suited our requirement for a bit of quiet seclusion. We visited lots of beautiful places including Fiskardo and Myrtos but nearby Assos was our favourite. The owners and their family were charming, welcoming us warmly on arrival, providing a gift of groceries, guiding us on places of interest and encouraging us to stay and make full use of the villa on our last day to coincide with our late flight back. We are now looking for an opportunity to return with the wider family and rent both villas at some point in the near future.
