Villa Kyparissi is situated on a 1.800m² property together with a second villa, which is also for rent. The villas are fully detached and have own private pools and own terraces. Nothing is shared!
The property is located at the edge of the little village of Makriotika: a peaceful and low-key traditional village, overlooking the wide valley of Pylaros and only 5 km from the picturesque yachting harbour of Agia Efimia. This is an ideal place to relax and enjoy the authentic Greek life.
The closest beach is the famous Myrtos (appox. 5 km), one of the most beautiful beaches in Greece. In the village square (5 min. walk) you will find a typical Greek tavern, a small café and a mini market. Further shopping facilities, friendly taverns, cafés, bars and beaches are in Agia Efimia.

The Ionian Islands region
Kefalonia is the largest of the 7 Ionian islands. It maintains its own individual character and is untainted by mass toursism. The island is full of contrasts: high, wild mountains in the centre, green valleys and long sand beaches in the south, dramatically dropping cliff coast-line in the west, cypress scenery and charming ports in the north, olive groves and small flint bays with crystal-clear water in the east. It is the perfect place to swimm, walk, enjoy glorious vistas, visit historical sites and make new friendships. A combination, which happily unites body and soul!
Kefalonia / Makriotika area
Makriotika is located in the centre of the island and thus is an ideal base for exploring the island. Nearest port is Agia Efimia (5 km): a charming little port with lovely taverns, cafés and shops. The sailing boats, which moor here in the summer, bring maritime and Mediterranean flair to the village. In Agia Efimia you will find everything you need for your holidays: car hire, rental of motorboats and sailingboats, a proffesional diving school, tennis cort and a lot of idyllic white pebble coves, which are ideally for snorkelling. You can also take the ferry and visit the beautiful island of Ithaca for one day.
The region of Agia Efimia is ideally for hiking and mountain climbing. There are a lot of paths leading to Agia Efimia or to the beatutiful monastery of Themata (approx. 4 km) which offers specatcular views. A path from the monatery leads to the top of the wild mountain of Agia Dynati. Furthermore, you can arrange a date for a riding horse course, which takes place in a beautiful landscape close to Sami (approx. 15 km from the villas).
In a short drive distance you will find breathtaking beaches such as Myrtos (5 km) or Antisamos beach (15 km). The picturesque village of Assos with Mediterranean flair, lovely taverns and a venetian castle is only 10 km from the villa. In approx. 15 km distance you will find sight-seeings such as the port of Sami and its ancient Acropolis, natural beauties of the island such as Karavomilos, Melissani lake (=blue cave), the Drogratti cave (150 mil. years old with rare stalagmites and stalactites), or the Monastery of Grilia (with fascinating views of Ithaca and the Ionian Sea).
How to get there
There are a lot of direct charter flights from England, Austria, Netherlands to the international airport of Argostoli. If there is no direct flight from your country to Kefalonia, then you can take a flight to Athens and get a connected flight from Athens to the airport of Argostoli. Further details indoors: The villa (approx. 115 m²) offers high quality accommodation that combines traditional style with the latest modern amenities. All fittings and furnishings are of the highest standard.
On the ground floor there is a spacious living-dining room, elegantly furnished, with two bulit-in sofas right and left side from the fireplace, an armchair and dining table. A wide door leads to the font terrace with further comfortable sitting facilities for the summer time and outside dining table. In the living room there is a Sat.-TV, DVD and CD-Player with Collection of CD´s and DVD´s, a lot of books and games for adults and children, a guide book and a map of the island. The fully equipped kitchen is suitable for a keen cook. Also, there is a bathroom with shower/WC and a storage room with iron and ironing board offering space for your luggage.
On the 1st floor there are 3 individually decorated, non-smoking bedrooms, all with air-conditioning and doors leading to balconies with great sea and mountain views. Also, there is a big bathroom with bathtub, WC and hairdryer.
A Baby-cot , a high chair and pool towels are in the villa available. All windows and balcony doors are equipped with mosquito screens. Free whireless internet access is provided.
Further details outdoors: The villa has a private swimming-pool (8,00 x 4,00 m), checked and maintained on a daily basis. The pool terrace offers a fantastic view of the sea, the surrounding mountains and the harbor of Agia Efimia and is equipped with 6 relaxing sunbeds, sun umbrella and garden furnishings. Furthermore, there is a sea-facing terrace on the eastern side and a mountain-facing terrace on the western side, both with nice wooden garden furnishings and sun umbrellas. A mobile barbecue is ideal for preparing the dinner outside in warm evenings. All patios are made of natural stone, which blends the property into the natural surroundings. A beautiful Mediterranean garden with colourful geraniums, roses, oleanders and lots of local sweet herbs is at your doorstep.
