Krania View Apartments, on the edge of the village of Razata, just 8km from the capital Argostoli, are perfectly situated to explore the delights of Kefalonia.

Built on a hillside, with outstanding views to the south west towards Argostoli and the Lixouri peninsular, cruise ships can often be seen from the balcony, gliding serenely into Argostoli harbour.

Recently built, and still in the ownership of a well respected local builder and his delightful wife, the apartments have been finished to the owners exacting standards, and are superbly furnished.

Apartment No 1 has one double bedroom and a double sofa-bed in the open plan living area, giving a maximum occupancy of four.
Apartment No 2 has two bedrooms, a double and a twin. All bedrooms have fitted wardrobes.

The central location of Razata gives easy access to the rest of the Island. The airport is 15km, the capital, Argostoli, is only 8km, the Monastery of Saint Gerasimos and Robola Winery 6km, Sami on the east coast is 15km, and there is a new road to the north of the island, which can be picked up very nearby, giving good access to Myrtos, Assos and Fiskardo.

Krania View is named after The Krani Stones, the ruined Cyclopean walls of the great Acropolis of ancient Krane (6th century BC), which can be seen from the balcony across the valley of Krania to the south west. The walls are a rare example of the fortress masonry, and were constructed of huge trimmed stones, some of them 2 metres long and a metre high and almost a metre thick shaped and fitted and stacked 4 or 5 high, originally extending for 3.5 km. Well worth a visit, you usually have the place to yourselves, quiet and timeless, 2600 years of secret memories.

At Farsa, on the coastal road north, high above the village, on the hillside, stands the ruined village of old Farsa, originally some 200 homes, abandoned after the earthquake of 1953. It was here, it is said, that Louis De Bernieres found the inspiration to write Captain Corelli's Mandolin.

In Razata village is a small souvlaki taverna, and there are excellent tavernas in nearby villages of Fragkata, Valsamata, Troianata and Dilinata.

There is of course an abundance of tavernas and restaurants in nearby Argostoli and the Lassi area.
