The Ionian Islands region
The Ionian Islands are located in the Ionian Sea, off the west coast of Greece and are composed of Corfu, Kefalonia, Zakynthos, Lefkada, Ithaca, Paxos and Kythira. The islands are well known for their beautiful sandy beaches, crystal clear waters, charming villages and stunning scenic countryside which is verdant and flourishing with greenery and nature. Each Ionian island has a distinct character
The entire island of Kefalonia is easily explored from Fiscardo, indicatively you can visit:
-Mount Aenos: The focal point of the island, famously home to wild horses and black fir.
-Melissani Lake: A huge underground lake
-Drogarati Caves: Dramatic caves estimated to be 150 million years old
-Assos: A nice Venetian Castle
-The Castle of St George: Wonderful views of the island. Built in Byzantine period and rebuilt by the Venetians.
-Kipouria Monastery Built in 1759, excellent view, telephone +30 26710 91354
-St. Gerasimos’ Monastery, patron saint of the island, fair on 16th August and on 20th October
-The Robola vineyard close to St. Gerasimos Monastery
-The Argostoli Archaelogical Museum, open 08:30-15:00, Monday closed
-The Corgialenios Historical and Cultural Museum, open 09:00-14:00, Sunday closed
- Numerous wonderful beaches across the island
-Daytrip to the nearby islands of Ithaca - Lefkas
Fiscardo is a village located about 54 km north of Argostoli and a district of the city of Erisos.
It is the northernmost port of the Ionian island of Kefalonia, a short distance from Ithaca. Is one of the few Kefalonian villages left intact following the earthquake of 1953. It is a very picturesque village still preserving its Venetian style with pastel coloured buildings due to the strict conservation laws applied in the area.
The built-up area is spread across two small bays leading to the stunning harbour. Fiskardo and the dense forest in the surrounding area have been declared areas of great natural beauty and are protected under Greek law.

"Friendly, clean and great location."
The apartments are in a superb location with a 2 min walk to the harbour of Fiscardo, or a step away from the local beach. Parking was no problem, the apartments were plenty big enough and kept amazingly spotless. We had clean linen and towels often throughout the 9-night stay. We used the pool morning and afternoon and practically had it to ourselves. There was even a basket of sun umbrellas and mats to borrow for the day. Hiring a small boat out is easy and worth it to see secluded bays and beaches. You can drive from one end of the island to the other in an hour, so sightseeing isn't a laborious car journey. A very friendly atmosphere thoughout the island. Hoping to return 2013! Only negative comment - although it didn't bother us at all was that the tv didn't receive any channels.

"Lovely apartment in a beautiful location"
We spent 2 weeks at Kiki Apartments in early July and had one of our best holidays ever. The apartments, though not luxurious, had everything we needed and all the outdoor space was an added bonus. The whole place is kept immaculately clean and there are lovely decorative touches everywhere. The rooms are cleaned daily and the bedding and towels, including beach towels, changed every fourth day. The owners are friendly and we were made to feel welcome from the moment we arrived. The village of Fiscardo has everything you need - food shops, gift shops, and a good variety of restaurants. Do not go there if you want English bars, Irish bars, night clubs or banana boats etc!! This is a place to relax and unwind - the pace is slow. There is no tourist information office so we would recommend getting some information about the local area from the internet before you go. There is a lovely walk to the old Venetian lighthouse you can see from the apartment. It's also worth just getting in the car and having a drive around the local area. The roads are bendy, with a lot of hairpin bends down to some of the villages, and up in the mountain areas, but there is not much traffic so it's not a stressful experience. Anyway, you can probably tell that we absolutely love it, and are already planning how to fit a return trip into our holiday arrangements for 2013.

"A little gem in a great location"
My husband and I have just got back from staying in a studio apartment at Kiki and loved it. The complex is charming and spotlessly clean. Clean towels (including beach towels) and bedding provided every 3 days, and a daily maid service. The pool area is great.
The apartments are traditionally greek , we had an apartment with a balcony overlooking the bay outside the apartment complex and it was delightful having breakfast on the balcony watching the comings and goings of the boats and yachts.
Location wise it couldn't be better, just a lesidurey 5 minute stroll to the harbour with the lovely bars and restaurants. Overall really good value for money.
