About the home

This beautiful secluded apartment, which sleeps 4 people (6 with sofa-bed), is set in woodland , overlooking the sea with the beach just a few minutes walk away. The views over the gulf, towards the main mountain massif, are fabulous.

There are a couple of local tavernas in this quiet hamlet, both within easy walking distance.

The open-plan living area comprises a lounge/diner and fully equipped kitchen (including microwave and washing machine).

The apartment has two bedrooms (one double and one twin OR both double - according to your requirements), Both are pleasantly furnished with fitted wardrobes. Both bedrooms have their own en suite with shower (one having its own bath as well).

The lounge opens onto a large veranda overlooking the pool area with magnificent views over the gulf (see photos) and beyond. There is a BBQ area for you to enjoy your own Greek cooking and sip a glass or two of vino as the sun sets by the pool-side. Table and chairs for at least 6 people together with sunbrellas and loungers are provided for your comfort and relaxation. We can also provide sunbrellas and a cool-box for you to take to the beach!

The kitchen is stocked with: Full set of cutlery, plates, dishes, glasses etc. Saucepans, cooking utensils and kitchenware. Iron Ironing Board, Kettle, Oven + Hob, Toaster, Microwave, and fridge/freezer .

We always supply , Tea, coffee, Fresh Milk, Juice,and water for your arrival.

There is air-conditioning in each bedroom with a charge of ( 25 euros per week per room and is charged locally ) for those sultry nights in Summer.

Smokers are welcome as stated, but prohibited to smoke within the apartment, but acceptable on the veranda and within the grounds .

The Ionian Islands are renowned for their mountains, lush green valleys, turquoise seas, fabulous beaches and friendly locals. Most people who visit the islands are seduced by their beauty and return again and again. The Ionians have, somehow, managed to resist the mainland's modernistic style and still retain the culture as it was a hundred years ago. Kefalonia is Greece as it imagined by romantic holiday-makers. Simple, beautiful, and welcoming.

The Kefalonia / Agios Dimitrios area

The small village of Agios Dimitrios is situated only 5 minutes drive away from the second largest town of Lixouri, yet is quiet and 'away-from-it-all. The local gently-shelving beach stretches for miles and is ideal for sailing, windsurfing, kite-surfing. The beach is ideal for children. The village is of great historical interest.

In nearby Lixouri you'll find a large selection of restaurants and tavernas, some in the main square and some on the harbour-front. The town offers a good range of bars, restaurants, shops and banks.

Agios Dimitrios has a couple of traditional tavernas only a short stroll from the apartment.

“Fantastic” The villa was lovely, everything we could possibly need. The welcome pack was very "welcome" as was the beer Darrell and Jo greeted us with! They were very friendly and helpful. The local tavern was just a short walk away and was great. Pool and bbq area were clean and tidy, perfect for relaxing. Hope to be back one day.

“fantastic island, fantastic villa” We have stayed at Villa Alexandra in 2010 and 2011 and have had a fab holiday both times. The villa has everything you need and the owners are extremely friendly and cannot do enough to help during your stay. It is only a short stroll to the local taverna where we ate many times. The view from the villa is unbelievable.

“Perfect holiday Villa, wonderful hosts and in a good location for touring the island. the island” We enjoyed a wonderful week at Villa Alexandra. The Villa lived up to expectations and is in a perfect spot for touring the island. Darrell and Jo could not have been more helpful and put a lot of effort into providing an abundance of the essentials and a welcome pack. We are hoping that we will be able return next year.
