About the home

Traditional 2-floor Stone holiday Villa in Kefalonia. Villa Anelina is located in a hillside village with astonishing sea view! Its interior as well as its balconies and verandas are fully equipped in order to make your holidays relaxing and comfortable!

Downstairs there's a kitchen, a dining place, a living room with a couch and a single bed and a bathroom.The kitchen is fully equipped including a cooker, a big fridge/freezer and a wooden table that sits up to 8 people.
Brand new TV-LCD 32' also available.

Upstairs there's a spacious living room, two double-bedrooms and a big bathroom with a bathtub. The villa also offers a balcony overlooking the sea and two big verandas: one downstairs and one upstairs.

The house is traditionally furnished and thus beautifully decorated. The stone construction keeps the summer heat outside and helps you feel fresh and comfortable. At the back and right side of the house is the garden and on the left side the BBQ area, the parking place and a large terrace. The view from the house is really fantastic and panoramic. The sea view is unlimited also from inside the villa, especially from the upstairs living room and the one bedroom (the second bedroom looks at the garden).

There are many nice beaches around that start from 3,5Km (Vatsa Beach). Within walking distance (not more than 150 meters) you will find a mini market(bakery and grocery), three taverns and two bars.

WHY TO PREFER US?
The strong advantage of Villa Anelina is actually it's location. The area where the villa is placed is extremely peaceful, therefore ideal for a calm and serene vacation. You can't feel that unless you go there. Lixouri area is not too much developed and explored by the tourists. Nevertheless, is so beautiful and surrounded by amazing bays and places to see. Most of the tourists spend their vacation in the famous areas of 'Lassi', 'Fiscardo', 'Myrtos' and 'Assos'. Amazing places, but yet commercialized and sometimes very crowded.
By hiring a car you can be in a few minutes drive from Villa Anelina in more than 5 amazing, romantic and calm bays and at the same time whenever you feel you want to explore the island you can visit all places mentioned above(easily accessed from roads through Lixouri town).
What we also consider as unique for our villa is the traditional style and decoration of the house. The stone-built architect is in harmony with the environment and the inside decoration keeps up with the traditional style of a typical kefalonian house of 19th century. The stone building also keeps fresh the inside rooms in a very hot day in the summer without having even the need to turn on the air conditioning. You will definitely feel like a king.
Villa Anelina is also qualified by the Hellenic Tourism Organisation, provides all the necessary amenities and complies with all the rules and prerequisites for a holiday rental

Further details

Within short walking distance from the villa there is a swimming pool with pool bar and tavern opened to our guests. The garden is private and only used by our guests. Verandas are very spacious and sunbathing is a must while overlooking the valley and the sea!

How does one do justice to this island in just a few lines? Majestic, green, clean, fascinating and idyllic are only a few words that some to mind. This is an island you can return to again and again, and still discover something new.

It is an island of many miracles: on the day of the Virgin Mary, the 15th of August snakes come into the village Markopoulo, blessing the Church of Our Lady with their presence.There is a flower on the island that only blossoms on this day. The patron saint Gerasimos' well preserved body is sometimes said to have seaweed on his feet - local folklore has it that he visits his friends St. Spyridon and Nectarios on the neighbouring island Zakynthos (Zante) and Corfu. The sea water that disappears under the ground at Katavothres and pours out on the other side of the island.

A paradise for nature lovers, this lush island has a special kind of fir which grows only here and nowhere else in the world. There are wild horses on the mountainside, and goats and rabbits with golden teeth because of the minerals in the ground. In the sea swims the turtle Caretta Caretta, dolphins and the monk seal Monachus Monachus, and the waters of the island are considered amongst the cleanest in the world.

Marvelous beaches, an underground cave and lake, the tomb of Odysseus, the fishing village Fiscardo, the Robola and Calliga wine, Lord Byron's view...Cephalonia is truly an island of much variety, and anyone who enjoyed Louis de Bernier's "Captain Corelli's Mandolin" and wants to see what the island is really like will not be disappointed.

The Kefalonia / Lixouri-Havdata area

Lixouri town is the second town of the island. It's a quiet, authentic Kefalonian little town where you can find beautiful sea side local shops, taverns and bars. The small ferry from Lixouri's port brings you every 1/2 hour to the beautiful Argostoli (15 mins), the capital city of the Island.

Villa Anelina is located in the village of Chavdata, an old, nice, clean village 5 Km from Lixouri town.
The Villa is located in the middle of many nice and of different type beaches. The nearest beach (Lagadakia) is only 5 minutes drive (4 Km). The Vatsa beach (6 Km), the Xi beach (7 Km) and the Petani beach (9 Km) are among the most beautiful beaches of the island (sandy with crystal clean waters, ideal for kids!). You will be really astonished!

Many charter flights from the U.K., Ireland and Europe to Kefalonia International Airport.
How to get to our villa? So easy! From the airport, you drive (10km) to Argostoli(the capital of the island). From there, you take the local ferry boat to Lixouri(15' trip, departs every 1/2 hour from 6 a.m to 12 p.m). Havdata lies only 5km west of Lixouri.

Car hire is recommended, there are many car rentals which deliver at the airport.
