Villa bougainvillea offers a get away from it all style holiday for those just wishing to lie by the pool and enjoy the fabulous views from the comfort of you sunlounger. In the evening enjoy the glorious sunsets from the spacious terrace and maybe a BBQ, or take a stroll along to one of the local tavernas within walking distance from the villa.

The villa is a great base though for those wishing to get out and discover the what Kefalonia has to offer as nowhere is out of reach. Trapezaki is just a 15min drive from the capital where you will find the best selection of supermarkets, shops and all that the largest town on the island can offer.

The exterior of the villa offers plenty of space to spread out , it benefits from a large paved terrace than continues poolside. So whether you wish to lie by the pool or sit at the patio table and chairs which offers a little shade you will never get away from the fabulous view.
To the rear of the villa is a built-in bbq for you to enjoy.

The Ionian Islands region

Kefalonia is the largest of the 7 Ionian islands.

An island that offers breathtaking scenery, fabulous beaches, great history and a destination that people return to time and time again.

The island in recent years has been made more famous due to the best-selling novel "Captains Correlli's Mandolin" which the Hollywood movie starring Nicholas Cage was filmed on the island in 2000.

The island has its own unique geological phenomenon that can be easily discovered with a visit to the underground lake of Melissani.

The island boasts one of the most photographed beaches in all of Greece, Myrtos.

An island that has still plenty of open countryside to enjoy by car or by foot.

The Kefalonia / Trapezaki area

Trapezaki beach is one of the best beaches on the island for children due to the shallow waters and clean sand great for making sandcastles.

Trapezaki is part of the Livathos district which covers alot of the south coast. It is a great base for any holidaymaker as it offers peace and tranquillity, local tavernas and mini market within walking distance, but only a short drive away from the capital.

For those wanting to explore the island nowhere is too far away, the furthest north will only take 1 hr 30 mins, to the east 45 mins, to the west 45 mins, and to the southern corner 30 mins. There are lovely local walks that will take you to neighbouring villages in either direction.

Snorkelling is good and private boat hire will allow you to discover some beaches only accessible from the sea.

From May to October you will find all major tour operators have direct flights from all major airports in the UK.
NEW FOR 2012. EASYJET ARE OPERATING FLIGHTS FROM LONDON GATWICK TO KEFALONIA. THE FLIGHTS WILL GO ON SALE FROM 20.10.2011.
These flights you can book direct on their websites ie. thomsonfly.com or flythomascook.co.uk.

Charter flights can also be booked on such websites as travelrepublic.com where you will find good competitive prices.

The best choice of flights are on Tuesdays and Sundays.

There are daily flights in from Athens operated by aegean airlines and Olympic airlines throughout the year, which would mean you can make use of easyjet who fly daily in from Gatwick.

The island has its own airport with the airport code being "efl".

By car it is an easy drive of approx 20mins.

There are always plenty of taxis available if you don't fancy driving on arrival.

There are all the major car rental companies represented at the airport ie. hertz, avis, national, europcar. However you may find some of the reputable local rental companies offer more competitive rates such as cbr car rental, greekstones and mercury, all of whom have websites for making enquiries and bookings.

There are daily ferries operating from the Greek mainland ports of Patras and Killini.

The patras ferry arrives into the port of Sami on the islands east coast. From here it is approx 45min drive to Trapezaki.

The Killini ferry arrives into the port of Poros in the south east corner of Kefalonia and is approx 30 mins drive away.

There is a daily bus service provided from Athens central bus station to Kefalonia. The bus arrives into the capital town, Argostoli which is a 15 min drive away from Trapezaki.

“Relaxing comfortable clean peaceful, and magnificient views.” This was our first visit to any of the Greek islands ( hopefully not our last), the location is fantastic, just to sit at the pool and take in the views is a delight in its own, Amanda and her children welcomed us on arrival with a nice bottle of the local wine a some fresh eggs from her own hens,the villa is well looked after by Maria, and the pool is kept very clean. Every trip on the island gave us more and more fantastic views, the giant turtles in Argostolia harbour are a must to see, lots of good places to eat , and you must try the local Pita bread wrap. Thanks again for a very relaxing holiday.

“If you are looking for a peaceful place with amazing panoramic views here it is!!!” If you are wanting a holiday in a relaxing environment this is a villa you must experience.The villa has all mod cons and is kept very clean and tidy by a friendly set of cleaners You are guaranteed to have a view everyday that will engage your mind.The owners are always helpful and on hand if you need anything. I would really recommend anyone to experience a stay in this villa.
