About the home

The villa offers ideal accommodation for 2 families/groups of people who want to holiday together, as it has two separate fully equipped living areas, a 3 bedded area upstairs and a 2 bedded area downstairs, both areas have a fully equipped kitchen, a full bathroom, an en suite shower room and a lounge area with satellite tv. The lounge downstairs has a double sofa bed to allow both areas to accommodate 6 people comfortably. An internal marble staircase link the 2 areas. When villa booked for up to 6 persons, the unbooked portion of villa will be sealed unoccupied for holidaymakers privacy.

This spacious luxury villa sits in the heart of the wonderful countryside of the Livathos area of Kefalonia. Only 15 minutes away from the airport and the island Capitol, Argostoli, a vibrant and bustling town with its beautiful harbor, bars, tavernas and shops. Located in a private setting only a few kilometres from the fabulous sandy beaches of Spartia, Trapezaki (very safe for swimming) Lourdas, St Thomas, and many many more. This beautiful villa enjoys a delightful setting with wonderful views over the surrounding countryside and of Mount Aeonos, famous for its black pines, wild horses and eagles.

Villa Diana is in its own grounds (4000sq metres) which is fenced and gated. There is security lighting over the paved parking area. The covered veranda downstairs leads directly onto the extensive patio areas which surround the pool. The poolside is furnished with sun loungers and parasols. The area is surrounded by olive groves and fruit trees and provides the perfect spot in which to enjoy a relaxed and peaceful holiday. A short drive will take you to several different sandy beaches.

Villa can be accessed by 3pm on arrival day and must be vacated by 10am on leaving day. However if Villa not booked immediately before or after booked dates, a degree of flexibility can be discussed., should access to villa rooms be agreed, the other areas such as pool and patio areas may be restricted to allow for cleaning etc.

Conditions

25% deposit due at time of booking, with balance payable 56 days prior to holiday.
Strictly no smoking except in outside areas of the villa grounds/balconies/veranda.

Kefalonia is the largest of the Ionian Islands of Greece. It is located between Lefkada and Zakynthos. The Greek Island has many wonderful beaches with fine sand and turquoise waters.Its many beauties include picturesque villages, dramatic scenery as immortalised in the film 'Captain Corelli's mandolin.and the National Park on its highest mountain (Mount Aenos) on which a rare species of fir forest grows.
Kefalonia was, like all the other Ionian Islands, dominated by various civilizations such as the Byzantine, the Frankish, the Ottoman, the Venetian, but also the Napoleonic and the British Empires. These cultures left a visible sign on the architecture of Kefalonia with great works, such as the bridge of Argostoli.

Home to the remains of Saint Gerasimos, patron saint of Kefalonia. In the garden is the large plane tree that was planted by St Gerasimos in the 16th century. While inside the ornate church you can see his remains - after death he did not decompose, a feat that prompted his canonization. With church interior that is quite amazing. It is a working monastery, so all the usual rules about dressing modestly apply.

The islands capital, the place for you if you enjoy people watching whilst enjoying a lovely meal in the evening. Great outdoor cafe society. Many shops, restaurants and tavernas.

Picturesque harbour village, which survived the big earthquake of 1953.

Hire a boat
From Agia Efimia (one of the prettiest villages on the island), explore the coves and tiny beaches unreachable by car.

Wine
Greek wine? Try it at the Robola Wine Co-operative set in the beautiful Omala Valley (next door to St.Gerasimos Monastery) and have a very informative tour of the factory ….their wine tasting is very generous

Part of the charm of Kefalonia is to do nothing but relax and live on island time. Which is not to say that there is nothing to do on the island - watersports and sunbathing by fabulous turquoise seas are primary attractions

But if you can pull yourself away from the sand or surf then there are also archaeological ruins, monasteries, places of interest, myth and legend and pretty seaside villages

And not forgetting that there are also daily ferries from Kefalonia to Athens, Lefkada, Ithaca, Zakinthos, Patra, and Kallini

“Fantastic villa, beautiful setting, perfect for family get together” Villa Diana and its pool was fantastic, the area is peaceful although you're a short drive away from lots of amenities, local beaches and tavernas. The facilities in the villa were excellent we had everything we needed and the welcome pack was fantastic. Warm welcome from Lynne on arrival, very comfy beds. Great personal recommendations for areas to visit including local beaches. Very unspoilt, beautiful scenery, local taverna Elionas just a 15 min walk away through a lovely village, lovely traditional greek food and good prices, staff who work there are lovely too. 2 weeks wasn't long enough so much to see and villa was like a home away from home!

'Villa Diana quite simply has everything you could possibly want & need to make your holiday in Kefalonia as enjoyable and comfortable as possible. The rooms are spacious and well laid out and are quickley cooled by the villas air conditioning units. The showers are fantastic which is a first for us in beautiful Kefalonia!!.... The kitchen has all-mod-cons making cooking & cleaning for the family very easy and hassle free. We thoroughly enjoyed our two week stay at Villa Diana and would recommend it without hesitation."

'Our 2 week stay at villa diana proved completely delightful. Caretakers Ken and JoAnn welcomed us warmly, offered helpful hints regarding local points of interest, and met our every need, all without being intrusive. The immaculate and spacious villa boasts beauty, comfort and style, with a huge balcony, greatroom, 3 bedrooms and 2 baths, a full kitchen and even a front load washer. Beer, wine, coffee, tea, a cake, sugar and seasonings were all close at hand. The immediate surroundings feature lush pastoral beauty of vinyards, olive groves,' songbirds and flocks of sheep. We felt secure at all hours.

'villa diana is set in a quie't area with overwhelming views the pool was cleaned everyday. jo anne and ken who look after the property were so friendly and helpful. we would recommend this very highly we had our best holiday ever. spartia beach was clean and perfect for snorkeling.we have every intention of returning next year.enastron resteraunt is the place to go to sample really nice greek food."

9 of the Barton family stayed at this wonderful villa it was very clean the pool was excellent and cleaned every other day. There wasn't anything we needed that wasn't already at the villa. The Couple whom look after the villa on a day to basis are very helpful but leave you alone enough to enjoy the privacy that you are looking for with a villa.
My family and I will be back to this great place. We had a mix up with our flights due to the ash cloud and the owners were very accomodating with us. If you are fortunate enough to be booking this villa, do not hesitate its wondeful."
