Villa Kefalas, with 4 bedrooms and private pool, is at the edge of Kefalas, a traditional village, where the local lifestyle takes you back in time. The tavernas, local bars and village shop are all within walking distance and you can be assured of a warm Cretan welcome. The delightful beach of Kalyves is just a short drive.

Ground Floor (Pool Level)
The main entrance opens into a large lounge and living area. Doors open directly onto the pool terrace. There is a separate dining area and a kitchen just opposite. Also on the ground floor is a family bathroom.

1st Floor
Upstairs there are 2 double bedrooms, 1 twin and 1 bathroom.

Mezzanine
Above the first floor is an open plan mezzanine where there is a further single bedroom.

The lounge has comfy sofas, fireplace and PC with internet. Patio doors open directly on to the pool terrace. Beside the lounge is a separate dining area. The modern, fully fitted, kitchen has a full size cooker and hob, fridge/freezer, microwave, coffee maker and a washing machine. There are 4 air conditioned bedrooms; 2 doubles, 1 twin and 1 single.

The delightful pool is set in lawned gardens and offers a sunny aspect along with privacy.

The Crete region

Crete, an island renowned for its natural beauty, beaches, diverse landscapes, speckled mountain ranges and interesting caves. The most dramatic features though are the spectacular gorges that cut through the mountains and spill out to sea. The rugged interior is interspersed with vast plateaus and fertile plains creating breathtaking walks and adventures. For those look for a less active holiday, Crete also boasts some of Europe's best beaches with a stunning range of sweeping sandy beaches, idyllic coves and palmed dunes.

The Kefalas, Crete area

Kefalas is a traditional 800 year old village with a large number of historic buildings from Venetian and other times, some beautifully restored, others in ruins. It is quiet village with a 'Platia', shaded by beautiful old trees, a couple of tavernas and two supermarkets. The supermarkets are small, but with all the essentials - one of them sells bio-organic food and vegetables. Locals say that there nearly 30 churches in the village, most of which are from the time of the Turkish occupation, when land would not be confiscated by the Turkish rulers if there was a church on its grounds!

Most visitors come to Crete directly by plane, especially by charter. There are however a number of other options.
Charter flights from Europe are quite numerous from some time in April until the end of October.
Almost all scheduled international flights transit through Athens where you must take a scheduled domestic flights to either Chania or Heraklion.
There is a regular ferryboat service from the port of Piraeus to Heraklion, Rethymnon and Chania. Ships depart every evening around 8.00 or 8.30 (times vary a little depending on the season) and arrive very early morning (5.00 or 6.00 am).
The best option if you want to come by car or motorbike is overland through Germany and Italy and by ferry from Ancona in Italy.
