The Paphos District
Cyprus is noted as having one of the healthiest climates in the world with long hot summers and short mild winters. Paphos is in the western region of Cyprus and combines sun, fun, culture and history.
Paphos is one of the most popular tourist areas in Cyprus and is ideal for golf & water sport lovers and those who have an interest in historical sites and Greek mythology.
In Paphos there is much to enjoy, see and do. Places to visit are:
Aphorodite's Rock - a popular tourist spot for its breathtaking view of the sea, and more famously is the birth place of the Greek Goddess Aphrodite.
Coral Bay - A resort north of Paphos with one of the finest beaches in the area. Calm, blue shallow waters with plenty of bars and tavernas.
Akamas Peninsula - an area of natural wilderness with dramatic coastlines and sandy coves.
Polis & Latchi - beautiful coastal villages with quiet beaches. Latchi has an idyllic harbour and is famous for its fish restaurants.
Baths of Aprodite - a picturesque rock pool and waterfall where the goddess is believed to have bathed. Tombs of the Kings - spread over a vast area, these impressive underground tombs date back to the 4th century BC.
The Bird Park, Aquarium & Waterpark - great for kids and fun for all the family.
Close links to Limassol and the Troodos mountains.
More adventurous options are cycling and mountain walking in the Troodos area. There are spectacular views from Mount Olympus and this is certainly worth a visit. There are a number of wine tasting villages in this region where the local Commandaria is a speciality.
Kato Paphos area
Kato Paphos is one of the prime tourist areas on the Island of Cyprus, its main attraction being the medieval fort and pretty harbour lined with charming pavement cafes and bars. The harbour is a great place to relax with a glass of wine while tasting the local Cypriot cuisine. Several boat trips are available from here to enjoy the coastal views of Paphos.
Kato Paphos is also home to the Aphrodite Waterpark which boasts a whole range of waterpark slides, pools and adventure. An exciting day out you won't want to miss!
There are a large variety of restaurants serving just about every cuisine imaginable. A good way to sample the local flavours is to order a meze in one of the local tavernas, allowing you to taste a full range of the traditional specialities. Many of the tavernas also offer traditional entertainment for a truly enjoyable evening.
Soak up the sun on one of the local beaches or take up some of the wide range of water sports on offer nearby.
The apartment location is a great base to experience all Kato Paphos has to offer.

Fly to Paphos airport (PFO) which is approx. 20 mins drive from the apartment. Best value flights can be found with Easyjet, Jet2, Cyprus Airways, Monarch, First Choice or FlyThomasCook.com.
Car hire is available from economycarrentals.com. Vehicles can be collected from the airport.
Local taxis are available from Paphos airport (15 mins max travel time) and the price should be confirmed at the start of the journey.
