The Paphos District
Paphos (or Pafos) is one of the most picturesque and ancient towns of Cyprus. It is a 20 minute walk to the harbour which is a lively mix of modern restaurants, old tavernas and bars. Kato Paphos is a new exciting and upcoming area in Paphos. Paphos is suitable for people of all ages as the range of activities suits both young and old. Whether you want a fun packed day at Pafos Waterpark, a leisurely round of golf at a nearby golf course or a lazy day on the beach, Paphos has it all. For those of you that like traditional souvenirs, a visit Paphos market which is located in the old town, is a must. Cyprus is warm and dry with a mean annual temperature of 20 degrees making it a perfect all year round destination.
Kato Paphos / Universal District
Today Paphos combines ancient history with a cosmopolitan, modern tourist resort. The area by the coast is known as Kato Paphos and focuses around an attractive little harbor with open-air fish restaurants lining the way to Paphos Castle. The harbor front has a large variety of European restaurants, bars and shops for your holiday trinkets. Europe's biggest Go-karting track, Pafos Waterpark and a Crazy golf course are all a short distance away. A visit to Pafos town for the market is a must to buy those all important souvenirs.
How to get there
Fly to Paphos Airport- 15min drive to the town. Airlines flying to Paphos include British Airways, Cyprus Airways, Thomson, XL Airways, Monarch and Thomas Cook. Car hire is available at the airport. Companies include Avis, Eurocar or Hoilday Autos. Taxis are available from the airport for approximately CY18 each way. Airport transfers are available on request.
