The Paphos District
Paphos is situated in the western peninsular of the island and is only 15 minutes drive from the airport. With an average of 340 days of sunshine a year and very little rainfall from April to November it makes an ideal destination for both summer and winter holidays. Cyprus is surrounded by the warm mediterranean sea, making it perfect for sun worshipers and water sports as many of its beaches have blue flag awards, Paphos is popular to the young, old and families. English is widely spoken and as in the UK you drive on the left hand side.
Kato Paphos / Tomb of the Kings area
Queens Gardens is situated on Tomb of the Kings Road in Kato Paphos between the old town and tourist area. The old town, which is a 10 minute walk, has the market, many shops and cafes. The tourist area is also a 10 minute walk which has a multitude of restaurants and bars, with the fishing harbour serving fresh seafood in its pavement restaurants, also daily boat trips, fishing trips and mini cruises. On the Tomb of the Kings Road itself, you can find varied restaurants and is central to all facilities and the local public beach. For the younger members of the family there is Aphrodite waterpark and go-karting. Local buses run every 10 minutes which can take you to the markets, banks, waterpark, tourist centre, coral bay and the harbour.
