Hiring a car in Paphos is easy and reasonably priced but for those who don't wish to drive there are two local bus routes stopping at Elysia Park, for 1 Euro single or a 3 Euro day pass you can visit anywhere in the Paphos area - visit the beaches of Coral Bay, or explore further afield, as far as Polis and Latchi. The routes go via the Harbour and Old Town areas where you can catch connections to anywhere in Cyprus.

The Paphos region
For those of you that have never visited Cyprus, Paphos is situated in the western peninsular of the island and is a very beautiful area in which to spend your holiday. This all year resort boasts an average of 340 days of sunshine a year, 300hrs sunshine per month (May to October), Average temperatures range from 16ºC to 30ºC , from winter to summer, with July and August being the hottest months - and virtually zero rainfall from April to November making it an ideal destination for summer and winter holidays. The Cypriots are friendly and welcoming. English is widely spoken and cars are driven on the left as in the UK .
A car is not essential as the main Tourist area is within easy walking distance of the apartment. Roman and Greek sites are plentiful around Paphos and include the Tomb of the Kings, the harbour area and the World Heritage site that houses the famous mosaics.
The old town, which is a 15 minute walk, has the markets, shopping and small local tavernas.
The tourist area is a 15 minute walk and has an endless number of bars and restaurants to suit all tastes, beyond which is the harbour and fort.
The Tomb of the Kings Road, with its restaurants and bars,is only 10 minutes away.
There are many things to do in and around Paphos: golf, tennis, swimming, yachting, cruises, sailing, karting, paint ball, bowling, crazy golf, horse trekking, walking, hiking, Jeep safari, photography, painting, bird watching, nature trails, cycling, mountain biking in Troodos Mountains, diving, snorkelling, water sports, fishing, deep sea fishing.
Places of interest: Aphrodite water park, Bird park, Tomb of the Kings, House of Dionysus, Aphrodite's Bath, Akamas nature reserve (turtles) UNESCO World Heritage site (monasteries), Shopping (local markets, tourist shops, department stores Debenhams, Next, Marks & Spencer etc.)
Taxi's are in abundance throughout Paphos and can be hired for private sight-seeing if required, as are hire cars. Just don't forget your driving licence.
There are local air-conditioned buses that stop at Elysia Park every half hour. The no' 603 will take you to the markets, tourist area, Coral Bay and Aphrodite's water park at a very cheap price. 1 Euro each way, 3 Euro multi-trip day ticket or a 10 Euro weekly ticket.
