The flat is a well-appointed first floor flat built in 2002 as part of the "Sirena Sunrise" development by a well-respected local builder. It is on the first floor with balconies both at the front and the back. The front balcony overlooks the communal pool area and has ample room for two loungers so could be used for private sunbathing during the day. The rear balcony overlooks an undeveloped former orchard and a Cypriot home and catches the evening sun. The complex is quiet and is unsuitable for groups of young people, especially stag or hen parties.

The Paphos region
Cyprus enjoys a Mediterranean climate while having many Brit-friendly features such as driving on the left, square-pin sockets and near universal understanding of English, at least in tourist areas. Paphos is a relatively small town with excellent tourist amenities and extraordinary Roman mosaics, all within easy walking distance of our flat.
Our flat is situated in the "Universal" area of Kato Paphos, within about 20 minutes drive from Paphos airport. Beaches, many restaurants and bars are within easy walking distance, so it is not necessary to hire a car to enjoy these. There are several bus routes to the town and the sea front within a few minutes walk. The popular "Sirena Surise" complex itself has a superb pool, so you could spend your whole holiday within the complex. A well-stocked mini-market is a few minutes walk away, while larger supermarkets with the excellent and cheap fruit and vegetables typical of Cyprus are within 15 minutes walk.
The beaches of Kato Paphos are within easy walking distance (about 15 minutes) of the apartment. The popular resort of Coral Bay is easily accessible by car (15 minutes) or by bus from the harbour area (1.5 Euros flat fare for all trips).
The flat is about 1.5 Km from the "archaeological area" where the Roman mosaics are to be found, and about 2.5 Km from the "tombs of the kings" area where interesting subterranean tomb complexes are to be found. It is also about 1 Km from the remains of the early Christian basilica and "St Paul's Pillar" where the apostle was allegedly scourged during his visit to Paphos. The main part of the modern town is about 2 Km north of the flat.
There are four top class golf courses near Paphos: Minthis Hills, Secret Valley, Aphrodite Hills and Elea with others under construction.
The nearest is the Elea Golf course designed by Nick Faldo, which
is about 15 minutes by car from the apartment.
