Home description
I bought this property because of its ground floor location and larger than average patio area close to the beautifully landscaped pool. It is in a quiet area, near to the sea, shops and excellent low-cost restaurants and within walking distance of the main shopping areas and nightlife. There are also good bus services to Coral Bay and the market area in old Paphos town for those who wish to bargain-hunt. It is possible to have a really good, relaxing holiday without the need for a rental car. If you wish to explore this beautiful island, most local tour companies arrange great trips. A complimentary hospitality pack will be awaiting you upon your arrival, containing items such as water, bread, butter, milk, tea, coffee - and the all important bottle of wine to help you relax after your journey.
View from patio...Yamas! (Cheers)
Enjoy UK TV in the lounge.

The Paphos District
You are close to the gorgeous EU Blue Flag beaches, delightful shops and within a 10-minute walk to restaurants and supermarket. It is only 3Km (2 miles) from the main shopping areas and nightlife with an array of traditional tavernas, British pubs and hot clubs and bars. There are good bus services to town, great beaches at Coral Bay and the bustling market area in old Paphos, where you can haggle for souvenirs. Cyprus has plentiful sunshine throughout the year, with sunny days and fine temperatures almost every day. Extremes of temperatures are rare, meaning Cyprus has something to offer every month of the year, whether it's swimming (as late as November) or enjoying cultural sites and festivals (all year long). While seasonal fluctuations are not drastic, however, they are different. Here's what to expect:
Summer: (When It Sizzles) Summer stretches from mid-May to mid-October and means high temperatures, cloudless skies and cooling breezes from the sea. It's a great time for swimming, sunbathing and a whole range of watersports. At this time of year, explore the archaeological sites early in the morning or in late afternoon, avoiding the hottest part of the day. It's always a good idea to bring along sun protection, such as sunscreen and a broad-brimmed hat. Even in the height of summer when it's 32°C (90F) at the beach, temperatures are refreshingly cooler in the Troodos mountains, ideal for hiking or simply relaxing.
Autumn: (Warm and Sunny) Toward the end of October evenings do tend to get cooler, however. In October and through November the leaves change colour in the Troodos and vineyards take on gold and crimson hues against a backdrop of crystal clear sunlight. In Cyprus even mid-November can feel like summer, but by month's end you might need medium-weight clothing for the late afternoons and evenings. It is still possible to enjoy swimming, while inland excursions to villages and vineyards for wine tastings can be very enjoyable. Fall also brings with it the annual Kypria festival, with prestigious local and international musical and dramatic performances at venues throughout Cyprus.
Winter: (An Active Season) December and January are the months of Mediterranean winter, bringing the possibility of rain, but still an average of six hours of bright sunshine a day. This is the time of year when smaller Mediterranean destinations shut down for the season, but not so Cyprus. The island is a major business centre and has many important heritage sites and museums, all at their least crowded in winter. The cultural calendar is also alive and well throughout the winter, with new events coming all the time. In early February there is occasional rain, and often snow in the Troodos - ideal for skiing!
Spring Delights The first orchids bloom in January in Cyprus, and by mid-February the countryside is already alive with fresh green meadows and almond trees in bloom. March days can still be cool (daytime temperatures around 19C or 65F, 9C or 40F at night) but steadily moderate. Early spring is a wonderful time to visit to Cyprus, with pleasant daytime temperatures and many of the ancient ruins framed by a carpet of red anemones and other wildflowers.
Kato Paphos / Regina Gardens area
The harbour is an ideal picture-postcard Mediterranean fishing harbour, with glass-bottom boats, private yachts and cruisers. Taverna terraces stretch to the water’s edge and the scene is lively at all times of the day. Remains of the ancient breakwater can be seen at the harbour’s eastern end. Pafos Fort was built by the Ottoman Turks to protect the harbour. There are many beaches close by, the nearest being behind Venus Beach Hotel, threequarters of a mile away. Other excellent beaches can be found at Coral Bay, a short bus-ride away. A 5-minute walk will take you to a bus stop where you can catch a bus to the waterpark, a wonderful day out for all the family. A bonus is to present your bus ticket at the entrance and the cost will be deducted from your ticket. A free bus ride? Can't beat it! If it gets too hot, head for the hills to cool down in one of the delightful local tavernas, sip a cool drink and meet the locals. Autumn brings a more tranquil season. There is more room in the shops, more space around the pool and on the beaches and the sun is more gentle. It is a time for strolls, bicycle-riding and chatting to the many permanent UK residents, for whom this is their favourite time of year. For golfers, there is a choice of three top class courses, all world-class (one championship level) with stunning scenic views, within a 20 minute drive. You should experience them all!
How to get there
It is best to book flights as early as possible, to ensure you get seats at the best prices. If you are planning to hire a car and drive, you can sometimes get cheaper seats and more airline oprions by using Larnaca airport and driving to Paphos (a 1.5hr drive). EasyJet have just started flying to Larnaca from Gatwick, with prices from GBP39.00 each way (+ taxes). To search for other low-cost budget carriers, the website www.charterflights.co.uk is good. If you fly in to Paphos, there are many taxis available, but if you want to book one in advance, I have found Cyprus Taxi (website: www.cytaxi.com, email: info@cytaxi.com) to be reliable.

Linda from Bridlington, Yorkshire UK (Submitted: 02/10/2008) "Very well equipped apartment, quite spacious with very comfortable beds and having Sky TV with BBC and ITV stations was a big bonus. Just a few steps from the pool and peaceful and quiet. The welcome food pack left by the cleaning lady was excellent.. You do really need a car here though if you do not want to be tied to buses and taxis. I would definitely recommend this apartment to my friends." Value: Excellent, Met expectations: Yes - satisfied , Recommend: Definitely , Overall: Excellent
