The Paphos District
There are pubs, clubs, tavernas and restaurants galore in Paphos as well as cycling, horse-riding, go-karting, hiking and a water-park. There are English-language cinemas in the town and concerts are held in front of the mediaeval fort and at the ancient Odeon. Paphos also has a number of fascinating museums and UNESCO World Heritage sites to visit.
There are several excellent wineries in the area that can be visited for free wine-tasting. Many monasteries and churches are accessible from Paphos, as are the Birthplace of Aphrodite, Aphrodite's Baths, Adonis Falls, reservoirs and mountain forests.
WORLD CLASS WATERPARKS - Despite it's dry Summers Cyprus can boast 5 world class waterparks with everything for the family for an exciting day out. Further information can be viewed on www.aphroditewaterpark.com website.
GOLF IN THE SUN - There are 3 championship 18 hole golf courses (par around 71/72) within easy reach. Tsada Golf club is 20 minutes drive from Paphos, Secret Valley golf course is about 20km east of Paphos and there is a new 5 start course, Aphrodite Hills slightly further on. SKIING and SUNBATHING - Cyprus is one of the few countries in the world where you can sunbathe on the beach in the morning then go skiing in the afternoon. The website www.cyprusski.com will tell you all you need to know. There is skiing and snowboarding from January to March on Mount Olympus in the Troodos Mountains, about 2 hrs drive from Paphos. If you are hardy, you can ski in the morning and swim in the sea in the afternoon!
Kato Paphos / Universal Gardens area
Kato Paphos is centred around the picturesque little harbour where you can watch the world go by in the open-air cafes and restaurants along the quayside; just across the water lies a 16th century Venetian fortress and if you are lucky you may even spot the resident pelican! A varied assortment of bars, discos and restaurants are available whilst Ktima (Old Town) is a maze of intertwining streets with shops and tavernas. The House of Dionysos, the ancient burial chambers at the Tombs of the Kings and the Byzantine castle are just a sample of the many fascinating historical sites worth a visit. The best sandy beach by far is Coral Bay Beach in Coral Bay, which is 15 minutes drive away.
Buses running very frequently/promptly take you to different beaches/locations in as little as 15 - 20 minutes.

Paphos Airport is 20 minutes drive away from the apartment.
Larnaca Airport is 90 minutes drive away from the apartment.

Travelling is very easy in Paphos, using prompt local buses which run very frequently. Car hire is NOT necessary, unless you plan to visit various Tourist Attractions which are a short drive away.

Dear Mitra, Firstly, let me apologize for the delay in response, and hope this finds you well. I will happily provide you with a testimonial, however, my handwriting is so poor I feel it would be better if I do it this way.
My partner and I were looking for a holiday in Cyprus, and I came across an advert for an apartment near Paphos. The lady owner (Mitra) was so helpful and sincerely caring, the apartment was wonderful, brand new, with all appliances required, a great shower room, and a brilliant swimming pool, in a very peaceful location with a wonderful balcony view of the sea. Mitra even went to the trouble of ringing us there to see if everything was to our satisfaction. In fact, we hope to stay with Mitra again next year. Highly recommended! Stuart ************************************** My family and I, 4 adults spend a wonderful 17 days at Mitra's apartment. It has 2 lovely double bedrooms with lots of space and storage beautiful views out of the windows. A good sized bathroom complete with Jucuzzi (which is to die for) A large living area complete with TV/SKY bedsettee ideal if there are 6 of you, a kitchen/Diner area complete with dining table for 6. The kitchen is fitted with all amenities including microwave, kettle, washing machine, and cooker. A very spacious balcony with table and 6 chairs overlooking the large pool which is available to all guests. Each room is equipped with air conditioning and electric fans if anyone has asthma or prefers fans to the airconditioning. The apartment is on the 2nd floor but a lift is available which takes you almost directly to the apartment. The apartment itself is clean and well cared for as is the grounds which it lies in. The pool is cleaned regularly and the gardens maintained at the same time. The beach is within walking distance as is local shops but equally taxis are wihin a few mins call away. Any problems help is at hand I would have no hesitation in recommending anyone to stay there. If you would like to pass on my email address to anyone who has any doubts please do, I thoughtly enjoyed my stay there and would not hesitate to go back anytime.
We are happy to recommend your apartment in Diana Gardens where we spent a very enjoyable week in October 2006. The apartment is spacious, well-equipped and very comfortable. The views over the pool from the balcony towards the sea in the distance are very nice, especially with a glass of local Cypriot wine in hand. The apartment is well-located but a car is recommended to get to the local restaurants and tourist areas which are only a few minutes drive away.
