Apartments B1 & B2
About the home
The complex is located in a quieter residential area, and benefits from the lack of high-rise buildings and hotels. There are approximately 30 properties arranged around the central swimming pool and sun bathing terrace.
Some properties are occupied all year round by their British owners who are on hand to advise and assist holiday makers if needed and who often extend invitations to their 'Universe 1 Barbeques', this makes for a friendly and relaxed holiday.
The location is near to all the amenities of the main Kato Paphos tourist area with its' harbour and extensive variety of tavernas, restaurants, bars and shops. The Cypriot people are warm, friendly and helpful and the great majority speak English.
Many sporting facilities and activities are also available in and around the area, all at reasonable cost.

Enquire nowThe Paphos region
Cyprus is the third largest island in the Mediterranean and is full of contrasts; from cool, pine-tree covered mountains to villages in rocky hills to modern beachside resorts with luxury hotels.
The weather is warm and sunny from May to the end of October, with peak temperatures in July and August, giving bountiful harvests in the orchards and magnificent crops in the vineyards, which produce many fine local wines across the island. Outside of these months the climate is still wonderfully mild and sunny with average temperatures never much below 60 degrees F.
There are many fascinating archaeological sites and antiquities, all evidence of occupation and colonisation over many centuries and a reminder of the island's strategic importance. Fortifications built by the Crusaders still stand, the medieval Fort at Paphos harbour today provides a stunning backdrop for outdoor evening concerts.
The majority of roads on Cyprus are modern, there is a developing motorway network, and access to all areas is relatively easy although enough mountain tracks are still available to host international motor-sport rallies!
Driving is on the left side of the road, as in the UK. Hiring a car is straightforward and affordable with petrol significantly cheaper than in the UK. The whole of the island is within easy reach.
The Kato Paphos / Universal Gardens area
Paphos Town comprises two areas; the ‘New Town’, Kato Paphos, encompassing the harbour, shops, restaurants and larger hotels, and the ‘Old Town’, Plano Paphos, where the main banking, business centres and markets are situated.
Restaurants are located all over the town with costs available to suit every pocket. The choice is enormous, from the traditional Meze to International, French, Italian, Chinese and Indian cuisine, to say nothing of ‘traditional’ British Fare.
The surrounding area of Greater Paphos extends for approximately 100 square miles along the West coast of Cyprus and includes the Akemas wildlife and conservation park, an area of outstanding natural beauty. Coral Bay, situated between Akemas and Paphos Town has some of the best beaches in the area.
An extensive variety of sporting activities can be enjoyed including cycling, scuba diving, fishing, tennis, horse riding, mountain biking, paragliding, swimming, walking, water skiing, wind-surfing, and nearby facilities include the Aphrodite Waterpark and a Go-karting stadium; all widely available at reasonable cost.
Golf, in particular, is being promoted in the region with three challenging, world-class, 18 hole championship courses now open. These include the Tsada Golf Club, 20 minutes from Paphos town, which plays to a par 72, the Secret Valley Golf Club, 18 kilometres east of Paphos and situated in a scenic valley with panoramic views, also playing to a par 72, and the Aphrodite Hills Golf Complex close to the main Limassol-Paphos highway that plays to a Par 71. All three courses measure over 6,000 metres.

| Airport: | Paphos |
The nearest, and recommended, destination airport for the apartments at Universe 1 is 'Paphos International Airport', only a 20 minute drive away. The route is straightforward and makes for a ‘hassle free’ final leg of your holiday journey!
Paphos airport is served by both scheduled and charter airlines. EasyJet have recently bought the old British Regional Airways operation, including their planes, and now operate an increased frequency of flights. BA still operate some flights to Paphos whilst Cyprus Airways operates a scheduled service throughout the year, although the majority of flights are to Larnaca, over an hour’s drive away.
The major UK tour operators utilise a variety of charter airlines such as First Choice, Thomson and Eurocypria where 'flight only' bookings can be made.
Flights are available from London Heathrow and London provincial airports, including Gatwick, Luton and Stansted. Many other flights are available from regional airports throughout the UK, from Aberdeen to Exeter and many airports in between!
An efficient, user-friendly, Web-site is that operated by Flightline.co.uk, who also take telephone bookings. There are of course many more, including Skyscanner, Expedia, Travel Republic and Travelocity; just Google ‘Airlines flying to Cyprus’ and see the results! Always expand your flight options by checking alternative dates, just shift a day or two, and remember that holiday weekends, such as Easter, make for expensive flights.
A number of international and local car hire companies operate from Paphos airport and, subject to prior arrangement, cars can be collected on arrival and returned on departure, a very simple process.
Alternatively, taxis are always available at the airport rank or, if preferred, a Paphos taxi can be pre-booked to collect you at the airport and deliver you to the apartment door! We can assist in this process.
Further travel advice, local directions and details of nearby food stores, will be made available after booking.
