Cyprus, the beautiful island of Aphrodite, emerged from the crystal clear waters of the south east Mediterranean.
The third largest island after Sicily and Sardinia. According to mythology, a white foam formed from which emerged a beautiful girl with gold hair Aphrodite a gentle breath carried the girl to the shores of Paphos. The moment the goddess set foot on land, beautiful flowers, anemones and capers sprang up. Travellers can visit different archaeological sites, ancient monasteries,
and museums. Tombs of the Kings, Catacombs of Agia Solomoni, Mosaics of Paphos are some of the more popularl sights in Paphos. Even if that doesn't sound appealing then one can simply enjoy the hot summer days, on the most sandy beaches.
Various cultural events take place in Cyprus all the year round. Actually the Cypriots generally lose no opportunity to display their sociability and their love of life and entertainment. Festivals take place all over Paphos, where wine, traditional food, dance and
music are enjoyed by locals and tourists.
Cyprus enjoys a Mediterranean climate, one of the mildest in Europe. Summers are hot and humid, beginning middle of May and end in the middle of October the hottest months are July and August average tempretures 32 degrees C. The coldest months are January and February average temperatures of 14 degrees C.
Throughout the year thousands of visitors flock here from all parts of the world to enjoy the beauty of a land that is eager to unfold its secrets to those who like to search out ancient traditions and civilisations.
The villa is situated in the traditional village of Kathikas. One of the most beautiful villages, what makes it so special?
The village is maily built of stone, It is set on the low hills of the Laona Plateau at 700mts above sea. The village has a
long history of a resting place of merchants. Mythology also suggests that a king of Paphos chose Kathikas as his resting and
holiday place. It is the perfect place for a quiet relaxing holiday away from all the noisy tourists areas.
There are three taverns literally just on your doorstep, just a couple of minutes walk and you can be sipping local wine
and having a traditional meze. Also there are a couple of coffee shops, and one British style pub with all the sport
highlights. There is also a bank available. Plus a very well stocked local grocery store. (all couple of minutes walk)
Just 5 minutes drive and one can visit two wineries as Kathikas is renowned for their wine making skills. Wine tasting
is most welcome.
The Area is also a favourite for, walking, birdwatching, painting, photography, and cycling up those steep hills.
