About the home

This property is located in a small farming village with beautiful views of the surrounding hills and the sea . Great for walking and away from the tourist area, yet near enough for restaurants and shops.

The bungalow is furnished with quality furniture and fittings,above average for a holiday home and is very comfortable both in summer and winter. There is air con and heating. It is a beautiful rural location yet only 12 minutes drive to the beaches and restaurants. There is a garden with fruit trees and two large palm trees with nesting birds.

It is comfortably furnished with everything needed for a holiday including towels,linen,crockery,cutlery ,glasses and pans, as well as cooler bags and ice blocks for a beach visit.

The satellite television has 13 channels in English including BBC news, CNN and 4 movie channels.
It has good sized rooms with ample cupboard space. Unusual for small 2 bedroom bungalows,this property has 2 bathrooms each with bath,shower and toilet.

Further details outdoors:
Relaxing and shady garden with lemon, plum and olive trees and garden furniture. The house is in a cul de sac , very little traffic in the area and is an excellent holiday home location for families with young children, retired couples and anyone wanting an "off the beaten track" location.

Verandah faces the sea about 2klm across the valley, whilst the garden is sheltered by trees from the wind and sun. A BBQ is available on request and there is a tap and hosepipe in the garden for filling a childrens plastic pool , which are avaialble at all the shops and supermarkets .

The bungalow is managed by the owners, a retired British professional couple who live in the area and will meet you at the bungalow with the keys. The owners, long time expatriates who worked in Africa and Hong Kong know what they like in a comfortable holiday home and have furnished the bungalow accordingly.They can also assist with car rental, what to see in the area and on any local questions that tenants may have.

A free welcome pack is provided with wine and beer, evening snacks and breakfast essentials, additional grocery shopping can be done at cost . The bungalow is convenient for wheelchairs but there are 5 steps up to the property from the driveway.

Conditions

Minimum booking period is 7 days , but we will accept split weeks after that . (example 10 days,17 days etc)
A deposit of 25% of the rental is requested at time of booking , and 75% is payable one month before arrival.
For bookings made less than a month before arrival,100% is payable immediately.

A deposit of Euro 300or GBP 300- is payable on arrival and is refunded at time of departure, provided there is no damage or breakages. This can be paid in cash and the same cash is refunded.
Rental rates include electricity,water and bottled gas for cooking.
We accept small well behaved dogs and cats .

The Paphos region

Akoursos is a small farming village with market gardening, olives and vines. There are 10 houses and one taverna.

Kathikas ,about 7 klms away is a major wine producing area with one of the best red wines made in Cyprus ( "Ayios Oniforous", made by Sterna Winery). There are about 5 traditional restaurants in Kathikas serving Cyprus style food and mezza.

The climate is excellent as Cyprus is in the south west corner of the Mediterranean sea, near to Egypt and is therefore much warmer in winter than Portugal or Spain. In summer,cool breezes blow across the island off the sea . There are good beaches near to the bungalow and the Akamas nature reserve about 10klms by car.

The Kathikas area

On the coast , 7 klms away,is Coral Bay , with a variety of restaurants, cocktail bars,pubs, sports bars, banks, internet cafes and shops.

Within 15 minutes drive are the beaches of Coral Bay and the Akamas ,a "national park" area with no developments ,roads are not paved and a bit bumpy ,but the area is beautiful and wild and should be visited.

There is a Zoo and a golf range nearby and 2 golf courses within 30 minutes drive.

Excursions to Limassol, Nicosia, Troodos mountains, Latchi and the surrounding villages are easily done in one day. Trips to North Cyprus are also possible

Skiing in Troodos mountains in January and February (Europe's best kept secret).

There are excellent low cost airline flights to the new Paphos airport by Easy Jet, Ryan Air, Monarch, British Airways,Cyprus Airways, Jet2 and Thompson from UK. There are also flights to the new Larnaca airport from the same UK airlines as well as from Europe on Austrian, KLM ,Air France and Lufthansa , from Middle East on Emirates,Ethihad and Gulf Air . Once in Cyprus ,you can book inexpensive trips to Egypt to visit the Pyramids.
Flights are considerably cheaper outside school holidays . April/June and Sept/Nov are ideal months to visit.
