The charming and friendly resort of Kas is just a 1/2hr drive from Kalkan, along one of the most dramatic and beautiful coastal roads in the Mediterranean. Cradled by the Taurus Mountains, with over 300 days of sunshine, very low humidity, and warm crystal clear unpolluted sea, modern day Kas, with its cobbled streets, is built on the ancient site of Antiphellos.

"Lovely villa - noisy location"

On arrival at around 5pm the beautiful, wonderfully equipped and presented villa seemed perfect. The following morning at around 11am the music from the pool bar of the neighbouring AquaPark Hotel started. It was a thud, thud of a mixture of Turkish and English music. This continued intermittently until around 5pm that day. Noise level intrusive but not unbearable. Shattered the idyllic peace at the Villa. The following day the music became so loud it was like a public broadcast, we had to leave the poolside area as the sound was distorted and just awful. Being in my 50's I thought it was just me who couldn't bear it but our 19 year old son also couldn't stick it. We brought it to the attention of the holiday company in the UK. We were offered two alternative villas that were available in July (small and not so nice and didn't have the facilities our part of 6 required or had booked - there was a reason they were still available in July). This took up the next two days of our holiday and after viewing the villas we were not contacted by Kas4VillaRentals to see how we had got on or if we wanted to swop. The onus was on us. We gave feedback that they were unsuitable but we had found a privately owned villa that was suitable but to hire this would have required refund of our original villa. By now it was Friday and we received no reply and knew nothing would be done financially over the weekend. We were told we would be contacted by the holiday company on the Saturday but this didn't happen. During the first 6 days of the holiday we spent time each day trying to sort this problem out without success. We had guests joining us for the 2nd week and by now it was obvious nothing was going to change so we had to put up with it. During the 2nd week the music was constant but not so loud. Speaking to local people we were told 'Ahhh - you have paid for the view and the noise'. So it is well known that the problem we raised was an issue. Very poor service from Kas4Villa Rentals. Didn't follow up and quoted all that they weren't obliged to do. Told us it was us who should have enquired if there was a hotel nearby.

I would be interested to know if the onus is on the holiday company to mention the proximity of 'lively' hotels nearby or should we have asked?

Didn't seem concerned we weren't happy. Would not recommend booking with them again. Understand Villa is on the market for sale and the Aqua Park being knocked down after this season to make way for villas - so potentially building noise next year. This not the restful holiday we sought after a traumatic family bereavement. The wifi advertised was picked up from the Aqua Park (ironically) or the villa next door. Villa didn't have its own dedicated wifi and reception was sometimes not available.
