The Turquoise Coast of KAS (ancient Lycia region)
It is unique in the Mediterranean region because of its climatic, geographical and cultural
• No urban buildings, no industry, no mass tourism, a place that offers a wonderful contrast to
the life in European cities
• Last 200 km. Clean water coast around the Mediterranean region, a paradise for boaters, divers and swimmers, but also for non-swimmers who enjoy the sights of the wide sea
• Wealth of historical treasures so that we can see the historical development of this region from the time of the Lycians, the Romans and the Byzantines and put our lives today in
relationship to the history.
Kas is a small and picturesque town between the Mediterranean coast and the Taurus Mountains whose steep slopes rising to 500 m. protect it from the northerly winter winds. This is the most southerly of Turkish resorts and it enjoys long hot summer days and mild winters.

It is located in the region known as Lycia, the homeland of the once renowned people of the Lycian civilization who predated the Greeks and Romans. Kas was built on the site of the ancient Greek town of Antiphellos. The remains of the earlier Lycian civilization are to be seen all around. For information that is more detailed we suggest you go to and to .

This is an area of wonderful scenery, fascinating history, abundant and varied wildlife and a gorgeous climate. The thriving town of about 8000 local inhabitants is large enough to be able to offer the visitor a copious range of tourist facilities but not so large as to have lost its sense of intimacy and integrity. Whatever your requirements, whether relaxation, adventure, or exploration and we think, Kas is the perfect centre from which to enjoy a deeply satisfying holiday.
The Kas and Cukurbag Peninsula area
Until the coastal roads were about 10-12 years ago built, access to the town was only possible by boat. The reputation of Kas has been such that favored by visitors from many nations have made it their choice of an individual holiday destination, in recent decades. Now it is who enjoy the fact that it is just a little too distant from airports to attract the interest of many package tour companies.
Kas inspires some people to visit the local artists and create your own paintings, mosaics or pottery. The old harbour offers mooring for a range of vessels including gullet- cruise boats, which can be chartered to a tour of the beautiful coastline. A new marina which offers mooring for about 500 yachts. Boating plays a large role in the life of the town.
Some excellent restaurants and shops are to be found in the older part of the town, a hillside cluster of buildings with traditional Ottoman balconies and stone-paved streets. To the west of the town the ancient Greek amphitheatre is still used for concerts and other cultural events.

Kas is renowned one of the best centre in Turkey for scuba diving with its crystal clear waters and abundant variety of sea life. Other activities include paragliding, sea-kayaking, trekking, mountain biking, canyoning and jeeping. For more detailed description, please visit the site to investigate of what expects you all on your holiday here.
For serious walking or for a gentle stroll there is the 509 kilometre Lycian way which passes by Kas and is considered by the Sunday Times to be one of the ten most beautiful walks in the world. To cool off a bit in high season, there are possibilities taking a drive different inland mountainous national parklands where trout streams and a wide variety of wildlife are to be found.
