Some new pics, more on the way!
Kas Peninsula offers a brilliant combination of laid-back tranquil relaxation and lots to do for the adventurous.
Not only the best sea and swimming in the Eastern Mediterranean (the longest beach in the Med, Patara, is less than an hour away) but within easy drives there are cool mountain plateaux set in forests of cedar and pine and numerous ancient ruins. In the town, just 4 km away, there are diving schools, sea-kayaking, paragliding mountain-biking. Kas town is famous for its artisan shops and lively pavement café night-life. No discos just dozens of small friendly eateries and bars.

The Turquoise Coast/Lycia region
Best bit of the Eastern Mediterranean, relatively unspoilt with spectacular rugged coastline 330 days of sunshine and the famous crystal blue sea. Sufficiently off-the-beaten track so as to not attract the hordes at bigger resorts like Marmaris and Ölüdeniz. Once home to the ancient Lycians the area has many ancient ruins and lots to do and see.
Good base for relaxing and enjoying local pebble beaches AND/OR driving to see Arycanda (spectacular ancient city - the undiscovered Ephesus), Patara (at 18km the longest beach in the Med), Kekova (a sunken city just off the coast AND/OR trying the many activity sports the area is famous for - sea-kayaking and paragliding to name just two. The town is a charming old fishing port with a laid back atmosphere and lots of cafés and bars as well as a wide range of restaurants and interesting shops.
