The Turquoise Coast/Lycia region
Kas is the most southerly of all the Turkish resorts, nestling between the Mediterranean coast and 500m high mountains it is protected from the prevailing northerly winds. Kas therefore enjoys a very pleasant climate all year round with an average of 300 days sunshine per year.
The town is built around the remains of ancient Antiphellos, and there are ruins of a Hellenistic amphitheatre, the monumental Lion Tomb, and hillside rock tombs in and around the town. It is the centre for glass-bottomed boat trips and sea kayaking to the sunken cities around Kekova Island where the remains of ancient civilisations can be viewed just below the surface of the water. Patara Beach, voted one of the best beaches in the world, is just a 45 minute drive from Kas and is certainly worth a visit. It is a protected beach because loggerhead turtles nest there at night and the ruins of an ancient city lie just behind the coast.
Kas area
Kas is the perfect place for relaxation, romance and adventure. "As a resort, Kas has style, with some of the best shops and restaurants on the Mediterranean coast. An influx of fashion designers and artisans have made the town a centre for arts and crafts, jewellery and textiles. It also has numerous excellent restaurants, a healthy array of trendy bars and cafes, and a sprinkling of discos." (Insight Guides)
Very few places allow you to combine white-water rafting, sea kayaking, paragliding, scuba, canyoning and mountain trekking, as well as horse riding, canoeing, waterskiing, mountain biking and fishing. All of these are on offer from Kas. In particular Kas is renowned for diving - the Mediterranean around Kas has the best visibility and greatest variety of sea life of the entire Turkish coast, as well as the shortest transfer times to close to thirty dive sites. Kas is also an important stopping point for the 'Blue Voyage' gulet cruises and you can charter a boat to tour along the beautiful coastline and see remote coves and islands only accessible by boat. The Lycian Way, rated one of the worlds top 10 walks, passes through Kas.
An annual national arts festival is hosted in Kas at the end of June when Turks arrive from all over the country to enjoy dance, music and art displays.
How to get there
Fly to Dalaman (2 hour transfer) or Antalya (3 hour transfer). Cheap flights available through www.sunexpress.com.tr, www.xl.com, www.travelbag.co.uk, www.sunways.co.uk, www.flightline.co.uk.

Further details indoors: All fittings and furnishings are in pristine condition as the apartment is new. Spacious open plan lounge, dining, kitchen area. Air conditioning / heating units in living area and both bedrooms. Duvets available for cooler periods.
Further details outdoors: Sun loungers and mattresses are provided. The pool and sun terrace are shared with just 5 other apartments. Please note: the swimming pool is not enclosed and there is an approximately 2m drop from its edges. It is therefore not suitable for use by unsupervised young children.

For the comfort of other guests smoking is not permitted inside the apartment. Smokers are welcome to use the balconies and patio.
Access: please note that the apartments are accessed via a flight of steps from the road and that the road leading to the apartment is steep.

The owner's weekend rates apply to: Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights
NB: Prices may be subject to change at the owner's discretion. Notes on prices Discounts can be negotiated for stays of longer than 2 weeks. Where bookings cross two price periods, the price will be adjusted pro rata. Stays less than 1 week are subject to a £20 cleaning fee. An additional £20 per person per week will be charged for groups greater than 4. 20% deposit and completed signed booking form to secure reservation. Balance due 8 weeks prior to departure. Returnable security deposit of £150.
Changeover day is flexible depending on other bookings. To be vacated by 10 am on the day of departure but arrangements can be made to stay on later depending on the arrival time of other guests.
