The Turquoise Coast/Lycia region
Kas is a small picturesque harbour town in a lovely bay under the sheer green Taurus mountains. A world apart from the overcrowded tourist resorts, it still has its typical scenery; small houses with wooden balconies, cobbled streets, traditional market and attractive harbour with fishing boats. Kas enjoys a Mediterranean climate with hot summers (average May-Sep 20-28 C) and mild winters.
The Kas area
In and around Kas, there are many excellent and varied restaurants, tea gardens, bars and cafes, craft and clothes shops. Activities include scuba diving, gullet trips, paragliding and trekking. There are many historical sites to explore including the amazing rock tombs, sarcophagi and the Kas amphitheatre.

We do not normally holiday in the same location. Kas has been the exception. There is so much to offer without being overtly touristy or a litte England in Turkey. This accommodation is ideally located within a semi residential and rental home area within 10 to 15 o fifteen minute walk to the heart of Kas town centre and harbour. Kas has a good selection of restuarants, shops and bars and there is a friendly atmosphere. Although a car is recommended, especailly if you want to go to the beach, we managed without one the first time we stayed. We ere still able to get around quite easily by walking, taxi or bus. Overall the accommodation and location is a winner for us and we expect to return again some time in the near future. |
