About this location
The Turkish Mediterranean Coast region
Alanya is a fast growing town about 135 km east of Antalya. Quite often called the pearl of the Turkish Riviera, Alanya has become well known world-wide because of its clean, sandy beaches, and crystal clear, deep blue waters mixed with the excellent climate of the Mediterranean sun.
Because of its picturesque back drop of the Taurus Mountains, and its subtropical climate, many people visit Alanya both as a winter health resort and as a summer seaside resort. It is said that Alanya has more than 300 days of sunshine a year. The winters here are very mild with temperatures on a sunny day between 12c – 15c.
With guaranteed sunshine, Alanya has a wealth of amenities to suit every taste. From go-karting, to cave exploring and the incredible bargains found in the various markets.
Natural places of interest include i.e. Alanya Castle, Dimcay river , Damlatas Caves, Side, Manavgat Lakes and many, many more, Turkey is an open museum packed full of ancient history..
Month by Month Guide
JANUARY - Short days, lots of sunshine, great for walking and exploring. Also a good time for photographers. Never usually lower than 10c in nights, use the log fire and snuggle up and read your favourite book.
FEBRUARY - Short days but lots of sunshine, surprisingly warm in the day, chilly in the shade. Great for exploring, walking, sightseeing. You see many hiking groups making their way through the Kargicak hills to the next valley.
MARCH - You start seeing the first signs of Spring, with oranges ripening and wild flowers starting to shoot. Still sunny but days start to lengthen and sun is higher in the sky.
APRIL.- Can be really warm and sunny but the rising temperature can cause unpredictable weather with occasional storms. The wild flowers and daisies start appearing in the grass. The more it rains the greener everything gets. All the local businesses start frantically preparing for the new season before it gets too hot to work. Theres a great atmosphere here. It starts to feel warmer and you don't need a jacket in the evening.
MAY - Wow - May is a fantastic month. The most incredible, vibrant wild flowers burst into bloom everywhere and it is a photographers dream, the weather becomes less unpredictable and you notice the air temperature rise at night as well as in the day, but it is a comfortable heat with no humidity. You start wondering if the sea and pools are warm enough and - usually - they are!
JUNE- Our favourite month. Wall to wall sunshine and very little prospect of rain or storms. Still the air is clear but the sun seems to warm your. bones and make you feel wonderful. The pools are a good temperature and the sea warms a little each day. The wild flowers have gone but the gardens are a mass of colours as all the shrubs bloom.
JULY- Everyday of July you feel as though someone is turning the dial up so the sun becomes hotter and hotter. By the end of the month it is roasting hot and cool pools, bathing in the sea, ice- creams and cold beers are a month. The salads and fruit in the markets are succulent and juicy. You need no jackets or evening wraps. The last two weeks of July and the first two weeks of August are the hottest months I think, made to feel more so because the air can become quite humid.
AUGUST - There's only one thing to do in August - take it easy and relax. Soak up the sun and enjoy everything the villa and its gardens have to offer. Its time to realise you made a mistake not getting a car with air- conditioning and you turn the shower down to cool rather than boiling hot! Everyone slows down a pace in the glorious sizzling heat. Think snorkling, boat trips, hammocks, siesta, beer and BBQ.
SEPTEMBER - We love September. The moisture in the air clears through The month making it a hot, sunny but comfortable month. The pools are still warm, the sea remains warm but its a little easier to explore. Great month for sight seeing trips and beach walking.
OCTOBER - October is a little like April, you can be lucky and have glorious weather, or the subtle seasonal change can cause storms. They rarely last long but they can be fierce. The sun is still warm and the sea great for swimming. The pools, however, start to get very chilly all of a sudden
NOVEMBER and DECEMBER - When we first stayed in November and December we were so surprised. The sun was so warm and we enjoyed taking long walks and wandering without the heat taking its toll and exhausting you. We saw many new visitors in the region taking advantage of this hiking, bike riding and exploring the countryside. As you walk you will see farmers harvesting and drying out crops such as olives, oranges, mandarin and apples. As the months went by the sun started to drop in the sky and the days shortened but we still enjoyed the beach until 4 p.m. and swam in the sea up to around 15th December without feeling chilly.
The Turkish have started to recognise the interest many people living in Alanya have for Christmas and have started decorating their restaurants and stocking Christmas goods in the shops. Everyone here celebrates New Year.
So there you have it - Alanya is an all year resort, it certainly does not hibernate in Winter.

"A scenic, relaxing and adventurous break rolled into one."
Having read good reviews and seen the pictures on here about the villa we came in the mindset of expecting moderately pleasant accommodation but didn't have a clue about what we should do to pass the time out there. As we were a bit rushed and tend to be a bit last minute we were unsure of how we would get to our villa as we were arriving late evening. The hospitality, however, could not have been better. As soon as we arrived there was transport arranged to our villa where Gra was waiting and had taken the liberty of stocking the fridge due to the antisocial hour of our arrival. The photos on trip advisor did not do justice to the villa. The location, lay out, decoration, lighting and pool captured the perfect holiday experience with a slightly homely feel to it.
Throughout the week we were in contact with Julia and Gra and they gave us a long itinerary of things to do in case we ran out and their recommendations ended up making the entire holiday - from floating restaurants on the Dim river to wild swimming in rivers to mountain caves.
Julia and Gra were very kind and helpful throughout the duration of the stay and I would definitely recommend this holiday to couples or a small group of friends.

"Beautiful Villa RUINED by two awful landlords"
After reading other fellow reviewers comments I confidently booked and travelled to The Honeymoon Villa expecting a high quality and friendly service. Having been astounded by the beauty of the Turkis… More
We have been totally blessed with the most amazing and considerate guests at Honeymoon Villa who have placed a VERY HIGH VALUE on the quality of our services and appreciate our dedication to ensuring their holiday is as enjoyable as possible.
We willingly offer free advice and assistance when customers do not wish to hire a car for their honeymoon/holiday. We will even to try help you organise special surprises such as camel trips, Romantic treats such as sunset boat rides, candlelit dinners by the waters edge, lunches in local beauty spots, and transport to local areas of natural beauty. This is the selfless service standard we have built our rental business on.
Of course internet provision beyond the confines of the villa is out of our control, but in emergencies we always offer local alternative check in WIFI zones if there is a service interruption. This is Turkey and you are on a hillside. In the past month our records show that the internet service to Honeymoon Villa was interrupted only for 8 hours in 28 days.
Pool machinery can break - it is what you do about it that matters. It is a matter of record that when the pool filter failed this month it was replaced with a brand new one, larger filter the very next morning. Only 1 four hour cycle of circulation was actually missed from the time the first filter was removed and the new one installed. Pool test readings show that the chorine levels remained within safety limits for swimming throughout this period. We pride ourselves with the standards of our pool cleanliness and the professional team that maintains the pool.
We provide self catering accommodation and supply linens according to what we feel is reasonable.
We provide 4 pillows, 1 set of bed linen, 4 pool towels, 4 large bath sheets, two hand towels for two persons per week. If any guest feels this is inadequate then please let us know and we can provide more. All our guest bed linen is stored off site. What was found in 'carrier bags' was discarded linen used to cover outside furniture when the villa is empty.
A contract is a two way concern.
When expensive pool lights, outside flood lights, villa lights and air-conditioning units are left on 24 hours per day throughout the week then the weekly electricity used is inevitably going to be way beyond our very generous reasonable usage allocation.
When roller shutters are pulled up with such force that they came off the internal rollers above and require engineer to repair them most people would reasonably accept that this would be considered damage which should be reported to us so that it could be mended before it caused further damage.
When guests leave a stunningly beautiful villa in an unbelievably heartbreaking condition with rotting food rubbish bags stashed in kitchen food storage cupboards, stale food on the floors, food and fruit stains on the bed covers and linens, evidence of heavy smoking, cigarette butts, burns and stains throughout all rooms in the Villa ( Honeymoon Villa is a Non Smoking Villa) the terms and conditions of the Holiday Lettings booking contract is inevitably breached.
It takes a considerable amount of effort, time and money to ensure the villa is up to its impeccable hygienic standard for the next guests' holiday when the previous guests leave such a mess behind them.
In the absence of a damage deposit (due to the faith and trust we have always had with our guest) we have the right to decide to request some form of compensation for the extra costs incurred to us.
Fortunately we can rest easy with the fact that no guest, not even the most recent reviewers, have left our our villa without saying anything other than wonderful things about it, and about us. This is evidenced and reiterated in the many e-mails sent to us the week and the photographs and videos we have in our possession.
It is for readers of the review to draw their own conclusions but we note that we have only ever sent one request for damage compensation in all the years we have been renting and we have only ever had one review complaining about our service in all the years we have been renting.
We will not be disheartened - we will just focus on continuing to maintain our high standards to the very best of our ability, looking after the wonderful guests who visit Honeymoon Villa year after year. It is a great bonus when your guests are wonderful people who treat you with mutual respect, appreciation, thought and kindness and believe us when we say - we have met some WONDERFUL people.

I have to agree with the other reviewers in saying that this place is perfect! From initial contact the owners couldn't have been more helpful, setting up our wedding gift list - allowing our wedding guests to buy us home cooked meals at the villa.
The villa is beautiful and the little touches were so thoughtful - the owners are brilliant, coming in the morning to make us breakfast, and some of our evening meals (I say meals, they were more like feasts!!), it was the perfect arrangement :)
If we wanted to eat out in the evenings the owners would organise this for us and have us picked up and taken to the restaurant, they have fantastic relationships with the local restaurants.
This isn't just honeymoon acommodation - it is a honeymoon experience!
Thank you for making our honeymoon so amazing xxxx

"Our idea of holiday heaven"
We spent three and a half weeks of absolute bliss at Honeymoon Villa
What can we say about our time there ……………..
We wanted complete peace & quiet - delivered in bucket loads
We wanted seclusion – backing onto a forest what more could you wish for?
We wanted luxury - got it - everything we could think of (and more) was available
We wanted home from home perks (WiFi /Sky) – check!
We wanted views - boy – what views – especially at night
We didn't want the hassle of a car – so were provided with transfers from airport along with personal shopping trips facilitated with warmth and grace by the lovely owners 'as and when' it suited us
All in all we can honestly say the best holiday ever
