A Zamani, meaning “from a long time ago”is a truly magnificent villa in a quiet location in the picturesque village of Karmi. The local pub, café and restaurant are within a 2 minute walk.. The villa offers spectacular views to the seas and mountain range.
This spacious property has 3 beautiful sea facing bedrooms with a total of 6 balconies, 4 bathrooms, large study/TV room, fully equipped bar and fabulous kitchen. The secluded pool are has an additional shower room while the large roof terrace offers unrivalled 360° panoramic views
The house has stunning views of the Mediterranean below and the mountains behind, and one can see the Karpas stretching to the east and occasionally the mountains of Turkey from its numerous balconies and extensive roof terrace.
This architecturally designed villa has recently been completed with no expense spared and tastefully furnished and decorated with many pieces collected by the owners from their international travels.

The impressive entrance, through the carved Zanzibari door, leads to an elegant and spacious hall, with curved staircase and chandelier, and yellow stone arches to living room, bar, dining room and fabulous, fully-equipped kitchen with adjoining utility room. The TV room/study and 4th bathroom are all accessed from the hall. All living/bedroom areas enjoy direct access onto the spacious balconies that surround the house.
The open-plan interior maximises natural light and cross-ventilation. Additionally, the house boasts no less than 10 large ceiling fans in living, dining, kitchen, study/TV room bedrooms and dressing room, plus air-conditioners in the 3 bedrooms and TV room. All windows and balcony doors are fitted with easily adjustable louvered shutters to keep the house cool in summer.
The upstairs landing leads to 3 double bedrooms and 3 bathrooms (2 en suite) and access to the southern veranda and outside steps up to the enormous roof terrace.
The spacious master bedroom has a magnificent 6ft Swahili bed (suitable for a child to sleep on) and a choice of 3 balconies. The large en suite bathroom, comprising of separate bath, glass shower cubicle, toilet, bidet and vanity unit with wash basin, has an open plan option with louvered shutters to the bedroom area. Through an archway, the dressing room has a full size single carved bed, mirrored wardrobes and dressing table.
The second bedroom has twin 3ft beds, two French windows to a large "Mediterranean" balcony and "sunset" picture window, fitted wardrobes with dressing table. The separate bathroom (also convenient for communal use from roof terrace) has a glass shower cubicle, vanity unit with wash basin and toilet.
Bedroom 3 has a 5 ft double bed, fitted wardrobes incorporating dressing table and two balconies facing Mediterranean and sunset. The en suite bathroom has a similar open-plan option to the master bedroom and comprises a large shower, vanity unit with wash basin, toilet, bidet and a mini bath.
All floor levels, including the pool terrace, enjoy uninterrupted views and, in summer months, you can watch the sun rise out of and set into the sea.

The private garden boats a private fruit orchard boasting lemon, orange, olive, fig and almond trees and stunning watercolour of bougainvillea. Gated outside steps from the living room balcony lead to the pool (7 metre long and 1.2 metres deep) and sunbathing terrace and bbq area, which also face the Mediterranean. On the pool level there is also a cloakroom with shower and an outside pool shower. There is also a large roof terrace which acts as an alternative sunbathing location, a dramatic evening sundowner venue and spectacular stargazing by night.

Booking
A deposit of 20% of the total rent charge is payable on booking. The balance is payable 10 weeks prior to departure.
Refundable Bond
This is £200 per booking against breakages or damage. It is payable with the balance of your payment 10 weeks prior to departure. It is returned to you one week after the end of your holiday. In the event of cancellation it is always refunded.

Overlooked by the Gothic St. Hilarion Castle and set deep in the mountainside is the picturesque village of Karmi inhabited mostly by British and German expatriates. Cooled in summer by a light breeze, this lovingly restored village is a refuge of peace and genuine charm.
With lovely views of the northern coastline from every corner, the relaxed and informal style of Karmi will not fail to enchant the visitor. With its own village pub, a small selection of local bistros, and a nearby handicraft shop, this region will appeal to anyone seeking tranquillity.
Karmi is 15 mins from Kyrenia resort centre.

The Karaman/Karmi area
Northern Cyprus is still relatively undeveloped for a Mediterranean island and there are many beautiful and historic places to see and explore. There are ancient ruins at Salamis, Soli and Vouni, mountain top crusader castles at St. Hilarion, Buffavento and Kantara, the old town and boat museum in Girne (Kyrenia) as well as the old towns of Lefkosa (Nicosia) and Gazi Magusa (Famagusta). Belapais Abbey, a 14th century monastery, sits fabulously on the cliff edge overlooking Karaman and is also a must on any visit.
The beaches and scenery along the Karpaz, or "panhandle" are spectacular and the drive all the way to St. Andreas' monastery, almost at the tip of the island, is well worth it. Many of the beaches are for turtles and early risers can join volunteer groups who clean the beaches, ensure the eggs hatch and the baby turtles make it to the sea. The sea is crystal clear and offers excellent swimming and snorkelling.
From Karaman, several walks are possible. For the more energetic, Ilgaz is about 5 kilometers away to the west and Zeytinlik is about the same to the east. There are also tough trails up the mountains and along to St. Hilarion Castle, through the pine forest. For the less adventurous there is always the option of a walk around the village with a stop at the local pub!

The villa is 40 mins from Ercan airport. These flights fly via Istanbul in Turkey (stopover normally only 45mins).

Note: Electricity is included up to a value of £50 per week for groups up to 4 pax and £60 for groups up to 6 pax. This is more than sufficient for use of the appliances, air-conditioning etc. The reason for this is to prevent guests leaving air conditioning on all the time and when it is not required. The meter will be checked by the property manager before guests arrival and on the day of departure. Use of electricity beyond this value will be deducted from the deposit.
