The Famagusta District
Protaras is located on the eastern side of Southern Cyprus within the beautiful area known as Famagusta. You will find many places of interest within this locality.
The Kokkinohoria "red soil" villages are famous for their agricultural production and provide a taste of typical Cypriot life. Cape Greco, a scenic wilderness lying between Protaras and Ayia Napa, is ideal for walking or cycling. Visit the nearby Sea Cave formations and marvel at the clear blue sea. Explore the peaceful monastery in Ayia Napa, wander around the fishing harbour or try the nearby Potamos Creek. Varosia, the deserted ghost town unoccupied since 1974, is nearby. Visit the main lookout point at Deryneia or the museum within the town to learn more. Why not take a boat trip out and explore the surrounding area by sea?
Go and see Larnaca, Limassol, Paphos, Nicosia or the Troodos mountains - Cyprus really is a country of day trip proportions with all locations easily accessible via the good network of motorways. Travel to a neighbouring country. Egypt, Israel, Syria or the Greek islands are all possibilites due to the wonderful and enviable geographical location of this island.
Kapparis area
Located within the environs of Protaras just 10 minutes from the main resort centre and 15 minutes from Ayia Napa, Kapparis is a quieter, family orientated resort. You will find the best beaches on the island here as well as all sorts of holiday activities.
Unlike larger resorts Kapparis remains open throughout the year and offers all the amenities that you are likely to need. Restaurants and bars are within walking distance, a convenience store is opposite the penthouse and a good supermarket is 7 minutes walk away. The nearest of three local beaches is a ten minute walk and is a beautiful sheltered cove with lovely clear blue water. Drive 5 minutes and you reach the traditionally Cypriot town of Paralimni with it's lovely historic centre and shopping opportunities.
Kapparis lies 15 minutes from the border making trips across to Northern Cyprus a possibility during your stay. Visit alone for the experience of the scenic Kyrenia district.

"We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to the penthouse and would definitely recommend and return. When we arrived the apartment was clean and tidy with towels and linen laid out. The bedroom (two single beds) has ample room and good wardrobe space as well as air conditioning and patio doors to the terrace. The shower and bathroom facilities are good and the kitchen area is well stocked utensil wise. It was extremely useful to have a washing machine and rotary line - we took all our clothes home clean! The sofa bed in the living room converts from a very comfortable leather sofa into a very comfortable double bed and coupled with the air conditioning made for 7 very good nights sleep. The bit where you spend most of the time though is outside and the penthouse really excels here. The terrace is huge with sun all day and comfy sun loungers to relax on. The barbecue cooks superbly and there is a nice table and chairs to enoy your meal off. To cap it all there is the superb spa bath in the corner of the terrace - the perfect way to round off another lovely evening in Cyprus. All in all this is a lovely apartment and we had a wonderful 7 days in the sun. What more can I say?!" - M Bowen, Peterborough.
"The apartment was beautifully laid out, clean with everything you could need. There are lots of interesting books to read about the area which are very useful, as was the owners information / instruction file. Staff from the maintenance company were friendly, the spa pool was checked regularly by a friendly English guy with lots of knowledge of the area. The huge balcony is fantastic for sunbathing, sitting in the shade or taking a relaxing dip in the spa which was enjoyed by our two teenage daughters. Although the local supermarket, restaurants & bars are within walking distance, having stayed in August with temperatures over 40 degrees, we would recommend for comfort hiring a car. This also enabled us to explore many local beaches and attractions. Booking was simple. The owner rang me within a day of my first enquiry and was helpful with advice on booking, car hire etc. Congratulations to the owners Martin and Helen and thank you for sharing your beautiful home in the sun.
