This new, modern, superbly equipped penthouse apartment is ideally located on a small development in a peaceful residential area, close to all amenities. Outside you’ll enjoy a very large veranda with excellent sea views. Here you can relax in the warmth of the Cypriot sunshine and enjoy the pleasant evenings with some alfresco dining. Feel free to cool off in the lovely communal pool or pop down to the local sandy beaches. Excellent facilities such as restaurants, tavernas and supermarkets are all approximately 7-15 minutes walk away or just moments in the car.

Exceptionally comfortable and air conditioned throughout, the apartment is furnished in a contemporary style to a very high standard, with many extras. The Famagusta District

Enjoying an enviable climate, Cyprus has on average 340 days of sunshine a year. The summers are long, hot and dry, stretching from early April to late October. Winters are mild and remain pleasantly sunny. Famagusta district with its excellent year round climate, sandy blue flag beaches and charming villages has developed to include two of the best resorts on the island, Protaras and Ayia Napa. With new property limited to just three storeys by strict planning laws, the sprawl of ugly high rise blocks so often found elsewhere has been prevented. Famagusta retains many links to its past and is still an important farming region with charming and picturesque windmills dotted across the countryside. The nearby traditional village centres of Paralimni and Dherynia offer an insight into the real Cypriot way of life. Well connected, a short drive along the motorway can take you to the capital city of Nicosia or up into the Troodos Mountains, where you can even go skiing in the winter! This is well worth a day trip any time of the year.


Kapparis / Paralimnia area

Protaras – 5 minutes drive from the apartment, has all the facilities one would expect of a family resort including plenty of restaurants and nightlife. The excellent beach at Fig Tree bay is definitely worth a look, as are the numerous water sports available. There are dive centres for exploring the crystal waters of the Med and mountain bike hire for those who want to explore the trails through the beautiful countryside.

Kapparis – Originally a small coastal village has many amenities of its own, most within walking distance of the apartment or only a minute or so in the car. There are numerous bars and restaurants which are universally excellent. With Greek, Cypriot and international cuisine available you'll never get bored of the choice on offer! Fireman’s Cove, the best local sandy beach is approximately a 15 minute walk from the apartment (2mins by car) and is great place to sun, swim or snorkle in the clear blue sea, or an ideal starting point for a walk along the coast. The beach at Ayia Triada is also a favourite.

Paralimni – This bustling local town will give you a taste of the real Cyprus. Watch the locals playing backgammon on the street corners, perhaps sample a local brew in a traditional taverna and take a walk around the centre and historic churches. Open all year round this is especially popular with winter visitors. As the capital of the Famagusta region there are lots of everyday shops, some good restaurants and well known fast food choices here too.

Ayia Napa – Offering something for everyone, is only 15mins by car from the apartment. Having cleaned up its image in recent years, Ayia Napa is now a more sophisticated, cosmopolitan, family friendly town with some excellent restaurants. If nightlife is your thing, clubbing to the early hours is available along ‘the strip’ with taxis available to take you home. A huge waterpark here provides a great day out for the kids and adults alike.

Cape Greko – 15mins by car is a local nature reserve of many square miles, this area makes for some excellent cycling or an afternoon walk to take in the many picturesque views out to sea. A few minutes further on and you can witness the awesome sea caves. On your way back check out the lovely beach and bar at Konnos Bay.

After booking you will receive an information pack which will include detailed directions and a map showing the location of the apartment. It will also highlight the many amenities and attractions of the area.

Fly to Larnaca airport (LCA) which is an easy 40 minute drive away. Cheap flights can be found using www.airflights.co.uk, www.flyglobespan.com, www.travelsupermarket.com, www.flythomascook.com or www.cyprusairways.com. Paphos airport (PFO) offers an alternative and is approximately 2 hours from the apartment all easy motorway. You may find your local UK airport has flights to Paphos, especially during the winter months, which although further from the apartment may cancel out the time you would spend going to an airport further away from home in the UK.

Driving in Cyprus couldn't be easier. They drive on the left (as in the UK) and road signs are in English as well as Greek! With the influx of EU money, the main roads and new motorways on Cyprus are excellent.

A Car is highly recommended to explore the immediate area and get to some of the best beaches. Car hire is available cheaply by booking from the UK with companies like www.carjet.co.uk or www.hertz.co.uk or you can use a local firm for all or part of your stay once you arrive.

A taxi from Larnaca airport to the apartment should cost no more than 25 CYP.

Public transport in the area is cheap and the closest bus stops are 5 minutes from the apartment. From here you can get to the neighbouring towns and resorts of Protaras, Ayia Napa and Paralimni.

With two bathrooms getting ready to go out is easy. There is an en suite to the master bedroom with WC, hand basin and shower. The family bathroom opposite the second bedroom features a WC, hand basin and a bath with shower over.
To cater for a restful nights sleep, brand new high quality mattresses are provided on both the double and twin beds. The latter are designed to be placed together if desired to form a King sized double without a gap to fall down, please specify your preferred configuration when booking.
The lounge seating consists of two good quality matching sofas, a 3 seater and a 2 seater. The 3 seater is also a metal action sofa bed. With its thick mattress and easy metal action it's easy to sleep 2 extra.
For the techies amongst you, the CD/Radio/Cassette also plays MP3's from CD-R and has an auxiliary MP3 input and cable terminating in a 3.5mm stereo jack plug (suitable for an iPod or similar.) The TV picks up local Cyprus Broadcasting channels which often show english language programs, especially in the evening. The Sony PlayStation 2 has two controllers, a selection of family games and DVD’s from Europe (region 2) can be played so feel free to bring your favourites.

Further details outdoors:
Access to the apartment is via a no through road meaning there’s no noise from passing traffic. The communal pool is shared between only a handful of apartments and has both shaded and sunny areas surrounding it. A lift is also provided for easy access to the 2nd floor. Panoramic sea views from the apartment’s large veranda stretch from the ghost town of Famagusta, to open farmland with windmills and to the roof tops and churches of Kapparis, Protaras and Paralimni. A Charcol BBQ is provided and fuel is available in all the local shops.

Linen and Towels are provided for use in the apartment. Please bring your own towel for use by the pool or on the beach.
This is a no smoking apartment, we respectfully ask that you do not smoke inside. An ashtray is provided for smoking outside on the veranda.
For small children a travel cot, high chair and car seat are available on request, please ask for more details.


Conditions

Due to the quality of furnishings a refundable damage/loss deposit of £100 is required. This will be returned within 14 days of vacating the apartment, subject to inspection from our local agent. Full terms and conditions are available on request.

We want to say a big thank you for our stay at Apollon View. The apartment had everything we could have wished for, a well equipped kitchen/living area, air conditioning, comfortable bedrooms, clean modern bathrooms and a balcony way beyond all expectations. We found a car very helpful in getting about, however anyone wishing to walk wont find shops, beaches and bars too far away, plus there is a very good local bus service for longer trips. We were also very impressed at the amount of information provided in the apartment as to what to do, where to go, hints and tips etc. All in all, a great place to stay and we will definitely be booking another week next year. It was great to be back again this year, the holiday really was great! We love the apartment and peace and quiet of the area, eating and drinking on the balcony each night was a joy. Everything you need for a restful holiday is there in the apartment, and it’s only a short drive away from the best bars and eating places, something to suit all needs. We had a great two week holiday in Cyprus. Your directions are excellent and we found the apartment very easily. The key safe is very clever. The apartment had everything we needed - the extras such as the swimming woggles were really useful for our two girls. Thanks for your ‘info pack’ tip, that as customers there it’s possible to use all the facilities of Kara’s resort - they are lovely pools and we spent three really nice days there with the girls. Back again this year and the Holiday was fantastic. We love the apartment and the tranqulity of the area. A car is needed to best get around but then we had the choice to visit a number of wonderful beaches easily within a 10 minute drive. We found a beach at the Mimosa Beach Hotel that welcomes everybody. No charge for sunbeds etc with a wonderful cove, swimming pool/showers and restaurant. I would like to say that we had a most enjoyable holiday and the apartment and location suited our requirements perfectly. It is very difficult to find a block now with nothing built around it, which gives you that privacy. The facilities and information were excellent and I only wish I had had this when we first came to Cyprus, so for a 1st timer it is spot on. Please don't take this as a critism but the only small disappointment was the noise from some high spirited guests in a nearby apartment, obviously beyond your control and we didnt hear a peap after they left. The apartment was beautifully decorated, very comfortable and spacious with a lovely verandah. Very quiet location if that is what you want, especially ideal if you have a family, but is close enough to Protaras or Aiya Napa if you are looking for more of a fun time. All furniture etc supplied was more than adequate and supermarkets are just around the corner. We did not hire a car yet found it was a good location. A car would help you enjoy your stay more (as mentioned by the owner) as the beaches are all different, some better than others. Thanks for your email, yes we had a fabulous time, except that it all went too quickly! We think that the way the apartment is stocked and the furnishings etc are just about spot on – there is nothing we wanted for during our time there, although we did go and buy a frappe whisk!……the apartment is great, and that balcony fantastic – rest assured if we decide to go back, we’ll be calling you – this was our third year in the Protaras region, and we’d certainly go back to Apollon View again with no hesitation! Thank you for the use of your apartment, it was perfect. It really helped to make our holiday memorable. We had mixed weather arriving and leaving in 35 degrees C but with a couple of days of rain in between, not at all normal weather for May. The views from the superb balcony were great as you know, we could see Famagusta, but one day it was so clear we could also see most of the “pan handle” mountains. We tried most of the things you mentioned in your info pack, from the local bakery – such a choice, to the restaurants – Karas, very good value plus we found just along the road Faliros also very good. In Pernera our favourite was definitely Blue Spice where we were also entertained to some wonderful traditional dancing by local high school children. The local beach, fisherman’s cove was very quiet but we also liked the expanse of Fig Tree Bay at Protaras or used the pool complex at the Marlita bar hotel which had a large grass area and child facilities plus was near the beach in Pernea giving the option of pool or beach activities all day. - Skinner Family - May 07

I am just writing to say thank you for all your hard work which went into making our break at Apollon View so enjoyable. We loved the apartment and the way you had kitted it out. For us the location was ideal as we really wanted somewhere which was quiet, yet close enough to the beach and amenities when we wanted them. So top marks all round.
