Villa Jasmine is a brand new villa finished summer 2008 with all modern facilities. It is nestled in the tropical rain forest in the most desirable area of the Western Province.
Villa Jasmine is surrounded by palms and other tropical rain forest trees, which host a spectacular tropical bird life. Our tuk-tuk is on call to whisk you down to the palm fringed beach dotted with high class hotels. You can relax at the Royal Palms Hotel and enjoy their superb swimming pools, go for delightful meals, take a spa treatment or enjoy family fun.
There you can meet our local celebrity, Monica the elephant, who will happily take you for a ride along the golden coast. Our air condition mini bus can meet you at the Bandaranayake Airport and transfer you to Villa Jasmine only 75km down the coast, neither too far north nor too far south for your day excursions. We have a great selection of trips for you to choose from.
You can stay bed and breakfast only or enjoy a high qualilty in house menu, which includes picnic boxes at your request. It is your opportunity to stay with a kind and hospitable Sri Lankan family who will do everything they can to arrange the perfect holiday for you. Shirani, our house keeper, speaks English, Greek and Ceylanese. The villa is furnished with locally made traditional Sri Lankan furniture and offers a home away from home atmosphere. The local people are proud of their British Heritage and offer a warm and sincere welcome. There are beautiful country walks through the village in calm and gentle surrounds. The villa offers a walled garden with privacy for all.

The Western Province region
This region enjoys an all year round mean temperature of 29.5 degrees with long hours of sunshine – up to 9 hours a day. Tropical rain falls mainly during the night, except during the monsoon period when short, heavy showers can fall during the late afternoon/ early evening - just enough time for a nap or a hairdressing appointment!!! Monsoon Rain is warm and pleasant and peaks in Western Province during May and October. Villa Jasmine is locate just north of Kulatera and Wadduwa Beach is virtually unspoiled by mass tourism. The tsunami hit this coast line. Some of the devastation can still be seen but Villa Jamine is new and has replaced the family home of Shirani and her mother who now intend rebuilding their lives by offering their new home to guests at local prices. Around the area many shrines can be visited where people can be seen worshipping. Temple Monks distribute monetary offerings from the worshippers to the poor and needy.The alms are hidden in fruit and flower arrangements and offered at the foot of the shrines to Buddha. There is no Social Security system here. Dutch, Portuguese, British influences can be seen all around the region. There are Hindu Temples, Mosques and Christian Churches, which are happy to welcome travellers to their services. A local school of dance, offersdisplays and lessons. The vibrant diversity and kindness of the people is sure to please and impress you with long and happy memories.
Kalutara / Wadduwa area
Kalutara is a small town situated on the banks of the green and lazy river Kaluganga. The shops and stall holders offer shopping at amazingly low prices. The garment trade is at the heart of their economy and our tuk tuk driver is happy to haggle on your behalf. Gold and silver as well as locally mined gems can all be bought at very low prices. The banks are efficient and exchange money at good rates. There are ATMs as well as money changers of the traditional type, who will give you better rates than the bank. There is a modern hospital with British trained staff. The luxury hotels in the area offer high class meals with local, traditional as well as modern evening entertainment.
