Some of the world`s finest beaches and bays can be found within a short drive from Northwood House, providing a spectacular venue for snorkelling, scuba diving and surfing. Perth has a modern public transport system incorporating buses, trains and ferries. Whitfords Station is about 2km from the holiday home where the train can whisk you to Perth, Fremantle or Mandurah. 2008 fares are reasonable with an all day ticket with unlimited travel costing about $AU9.00. You can use the same ticket for your bus, train, or ferry transport
Kallaroo area
Kallaroo is situated 22km from Perth GPO which is fifteen minutes drive away from Northwood House.
Kallaroo is one of four "Whitfords" suburbs that resulted from the State Government rezoning a large area of coastal land for development in 1969. Kallaroo was chosen as a suburb name in 1970 and is an Aboriginal word meaning "road to the water". Whitford Beach is within easy walking distance from Northwood House.
Whitford City Shopping Centre is a great place for fun, fashion, food, & gifts and is a five minute hop, skip and jump away from Northwood House!! Try out the Kiddy Cruisers that are now available for hire at Whitfords City Shopping Centre's Concierge Desk. This is a great opportunity to keep your kids happily entertained while you shop at your leisure.
Portifinos Harbour Restaurant offers an extensive seasonal a la carte menu catering for all tastes, from a large selection of pasta dishes and salads to the finest beef and lamb. If seafood is more to your liking then try the Dhufish or Seafood Platter - this is a must. If pizza is your preference, you can settle by the log fire or watch the chef serve an array of delights from the traditional wood fire oven.
