Our Komurluk Apartment "Caretta" is situated close to kalkan,yet just far enough away to remain exclusive and unique. The Apartment provides a peaceful and relaxing environment to have a truly memorable holiday.
Caretta has contemporary and spacious accommodation,being laid out on one level. There is an open plan living area,including a well fitted kitchen,spacious dining area and good sized light and airy lounge.Both bedrooms are large doubles with a super kingsize bed in the master bedroom and a double bed in the guest bedroom. Each bedroom has an ensuite shower room.
There is a third shower room,leading to a utility with washing machine. You get stunning sea views from the lounge and both bedrooms and all terraces/balconies.
Kalkan is Turkey's best kept secret with its magical atmosphere and remains unspoilt by mass tourism.It has a superb choice of local and international cuisine,being provided by the array of local restaurants, many with roof top terraces in which to admire the wonderful views across Kalkan bay.
There is plenty to do in and around Kalkan,from relaxing boat trips to visiting Turkey's deepest gorge at nearby Saklikent." Caretta " benefits from a shared fabulous swimming pool and has four sunbeds and two large parasol umbrellas for the exclusive use of guests staying at " Caretta "There are also shower facilities by the pool for guests.The relaxing pool has fabulous views over Kalkan bay,looking left to mouse and snake islands,Patara Prince resort and right towards the picturesque harbour of Kalkan.

The apartment is light and airy, decorated in a contemporary style. A large, open plan lounge/kitchen/dining area leads onto a good sized balcony with dining table and chairs There is an IPod docking station with speakers to listen to your favourite tunes whilst dining out on the balcony. The main bedroom has a dressing table, large mirror, hairdryer and super kingsize bed. The second bedroom is also a good sized double and benefits from a dressing table, large mirror, hairdryer and double bed. Both bedrooms benefit from freshly upgraded ensuite shower rooms with brand new shower cubicles,sanitary ware along with new wall and floor tiling. All the main rooms are air conditioned and are tastefully furnished and decorated. A third large shower room is available at the end of an inner hallway,which leads off the dining area.
A self contained utility,is accessed off this shower room and houses a washing mahine and lots of other useful equipment such as clothes drying racks,ironing board/iron etc.
The apartment has a daily housekeeping/cleaning service available for all guests.Every day,there is a light clean with bins emptied and fresh liners added.Also the beds are made daily by the cleaner.
There are also weekly changes of linen and towels and there is a thorough clean at least once a week.

The main balcony which is accessed from the lounge and master bedroom is south facing. This balcony benefits from two new wooden sunloungers,a new marble topped cast iron table with four chairs.A newly purchased parasol umbrella for the balcony helps provide invaluable extra shade for when it gets a little to hot! The main balcony benefits from the sun from morning to early evening. This balcony provides stunnning sea views and has beautiful pink bougainvillia plants giving you a truly relaxing mediterainean lifestyle.
There is also a south facing side balcony which is accessible via the guest bedroom. This shaded side balcony gives you a space in which to relax out of the sun should you wish to and has soft seating with a marble topped cast iron table. This makes it a perfect spot to watch the gulets out at sea, or to sit reading your favourite book whilst enjoying a nice cold drink.
We have 4 sunloungers with 2 large parasol umrellas on the pool terrace for our guests to use.
The pool is exclusively for the Komurluk Apartments and very rarely gets crowded so you can enjoy a relaxing swim at most times of the day.

The property is maintained from late April - late November.Please ensure that adequate travel insurance is obtained to fully cover you in the event of cancellations.
Conditions
Children are more than welcome at the apartment. However, its design does not lend itself to very young children in pushchairs. Regrettably, infirm elderly or wheelchair bound persons would find this property unsuitable.A non refundable deposit of £150 is required to secure the. booking.The balance is due 8 weeks before departure.Bookings made within 8 weeks of departure must be paid for in full.A refundable breakages deposit of £200 is payable with the balance.

The Turquoise Coast/Lycia region
Kalkan benefits from many days of sunshine making it an ideal location for those seeking golden rays! The temperatures in July and August can reach 40 degrees centigrade. May, June, September and October are poplular times to visit where the daytime temperatures are comfortable thirties and the evenings are warm and pleasant. January to March is the rainy season and probably best to avoid.
This area of Turkey is stepped in historical and cultural places of interest including Xanthos, Thlos and the ancient city of Patara (also the birth place of Santa Claus!) Fethiye and Kas are local towns also worth visiting.
The Kalkan / Komurluk area
Kalkan is a leisurely ten to fifteen minute walk away with stunning views of the bay,harbour and town where you will find the shops, restaurants and bars, supermarkets, banks and post office. There are some fantastic bargains, as well as glass, jewellery, carpets and kilims, fashions and of course, Turkish Delight for sale. You can eat very cheaply here, as well as eating like a king! There truly is something to suit every taste from carnivours to vegetarians, all cooked using local produce. Guaranteed it will be fresh and tasty.
There is a small beach in Kalkan which has an area exclusively for swimmers. The beach is pebbly, but about twenty minutes away by dolmus (the local bus) is Patara beach - 18 miles of sandy beach which is home to the endangered loggerhead turtles. Definitely well worth a visit. There are also beach clubs around the town. These are man-made swimming platforms where you pay an entry fee which includes use of sunloungers, umbrellas as well as having facilities for food and drink. They are very well maintained and are great for getting straight into the sea.
There are several dive companies here offering anything from snorkelling to SCUBA diving. The sea around this area is great for diving and if you are thinking of learning to dive, the schools are PADI certified. Ask us for more details if you are interested.

Dalaman or Antalya airports serve Kalkan, although Dalaman is the closest. (approx 1 hour 45 minutes) EasyJet, Thomson Airways and Monarch have regular scheduled services from many UK airports. We can recommend airport transfer companies that we use regularily and are competitive and very reliable.The cost should be about £55.00 each way.We also use these companies for car hire.If you would like further information then do not hesitate to ask.
The apartment is only a ten to fifteen minute gentle stroll into town with stunning views along the way. Taxi's are however always available for those wishing to take the easy option!

Hi Simon and Sue We just wanted to say thank you for the use of your lovely apartment. We had a fantastic time. Indeed Kalkan was just as lovely as we remembered it to be. I could write a whole page about the holiday, your apartment and Kalkan but you already know the secret of how special it is. Thank you for all the added little extras that were in the apartment. You have obviously paid attention to detail and this made the experience even more enjoyable. We occasionally like to eat in whilst on holiday and your very well equipped kitchen made this an easy thing to do. We had a couple of BBQs on the balcony just so that we could enjoy the beautiful views and the sunset. The fact that some housekeeping and linen changes were included came as a nice surprise as this has not always been a feature of other self catering holidays that we have had (being left with a pile of fresh sheet to make up the bed yourself is just not the same!). |

Beautifully appointed spacious, light and comfortable apartment furnished with everything you could need for an excellent stay - right down to beach-towels! (A great idea when baggage weight is so limited nowadays) Views are stunning both day and night and you find yourself spending hours on the balcony just watching the boats and harbour lights... Easy access to shops and the great choice of Kalkan restaurants - especially with a car (just 5 minutes) though it's easily walkable with great views the whole way. Owner also very helpful and honest in his descriptions - would highly reccommend! |

Stayed in Caretta for 8 wonderful days, just a shame it wasn't longer. The apartment is fabulous, spotlessly clean, comfortable, well equipped and furnished to a very high standard. The views from the balconies are stunning at any time of day or night and we particularly enjoyed relaxing and watching the magnificent sunsets with a pre-dinner drink. It was also a real bonus to be able to wake up in bed every morning and be greeted by the sight of the bay, simply breathtaking. Komurluk itself is a very peaceful area of Kalkan but still only a 10 minute walk into town which we did every night. We think 'Caretta' is in the perfect place. The owners were very helpful throughout the booking process and provided lots of useful information which can also be found in the apartment. They also provided a welcome pack which contained all the necessary items. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would love to do it all again! Highly recommended. |

Title : A little gem in the treasure that is Kalkan!
Our 5th trip to Kalkan & our first to' Caretta' but hopefully not our last. The apartment was extremely clean comfortable & convenient and the on site staff were very pleasant and helpful. The bright , cheerful modern apartment was a pleasure to return to after a day spent out at sea or after an evening spent in one of the fantastic restaurants(of which Kalkan seems to have an neverending supply). We spent time by the pool & on the apartment balcony both of which were a great way to relax & enjoy the sunshine and the fantastic view. A pleasant 10-15 minute stroll takes you down to the old town and should you not wish to do the uphill return then abundant taxis are available & cheap.
The owners of this apartment,Simon & Sue were a pleasure to deal with and certainly went the extra mile to make our stay agreeable. We have no hesitation in recommending it and we ourselves certainly intend returning to Caretta again

We are full of praise for it..The modern apartment was most tastefully decorated,the views were absolutely stunning,and it was a great pleasure to enjoy a breakfast on the balcony or watch the sun set in the evening.It was also nice to see how well equipped it was,the kitchen has everything one may ever need and we found the cool bag most useful for our day trips.

Just to let you know that we all had a fantastic time in Kalkan.It all worked out really well.The weather was naturally fantastic,your apartment is great----everything we needed,and all the people we met in the other apartments were very friendly and helpful too,which also makes a difference.
Kalkan itself is lovely,just as you described,and the views from the apartment are breathtaking,the only problem is that we are not there now!!
