About the home

Emir Sky has been completely furbished for 2009. All new kitchen,bedrooms,shower room,linen,towels...even the knives and forks!

Part of the Emir complex consisting of only 19 apartments in 4 blocks, Emir Sky is on the ground floor of the top block in a more tranquil setting overlooking Kakan town and bay beyond."Sky" has its own patio which is secure so that young children can't wander and is ideal for sunbathing and open air dining. Immediately outside is a large sunbathing area overlooking both pools. All sunbeds, umbrellas etc. are provided.

Emir Sky is ideal for a family group. Booked with Emir Sea next door we can accommodate a larger group of 8

The apartment is all on one level consisting of two bedrooms. 1 double with a king sized bed and 1 twin bedded room room, open plan dining and lounge area with adjoining kitchen and a shower room with basin and toilet.
The bedrooms and living area have air conditioning.

All furnishings, fittings and kitchen appliances were brand new last year and the apartment has been redecorated, newly furbished and completed in early May 2009

Facilities for Babies can be provided through a local company www.kalkanconcierge.com .This includes a Cot with built in mattress, High Chair, even a Buggy. Cot bed linen is not supplied.

The patio which overlooks Kalkan and Kalkan Bay is set in its own secure gated surroundings to prevent unaccompanied or very young children wandering off. For adults wanting peace and quiet away from the main poolside area, the patio is ideal for sunbathing or dining out using the table and four chairs.

The Emir apartments have a full time 24 hour security and maintenance staff.
A welcome pack is provided and will be in the apartment when you arrive.
All sunbeds, umbrellas, tables and chairs around the pools and sunbathing areas are free to all guests at the complex.
Young children should be supervised at all times especially round the pool and public areas.
We are covered for all standard building and contents insurance but it is essential you carry standard holiday insurance to cover medical, travel and public liability.

Conditions

We are sorry but the layout of the surrounding areas have several steps and therefore the apartment is not suitable for wheelchair ,elderly or infirm clients.

We do not ask for a breakage deposit. Should a breakage occur most everyday items can replaced by clients from shops in the town. Any problems with major appliances should be immediately reported to the reception/maintenance staff.

The Turquoise Coast/Lycia region

Kalkan is situated on Turkey's spectacular south west Mediterranean coast with a backdrop of the Taurus mountains.
There are a wealth of historic sites to visit, long sandy beaches with Patara one of the most famous, small rocky coves only accessible by boat and whole areas to walk, ride by bike or horseback to discover fascinating countryside and local villages inland.

The Kalkan / Central Kalkan area

Kalkan is an old fishing port with a pretty harbour to which all roads lead. It has kept many of its old town charms with original buildings containing bars, restaurants, shops. There are things to do at all times of the day and night in Kalkan suitable for all ages.

Getting around on foot, by taxi, by boat or Dolmus allows visitors to enjoy the attractions on the Old Town, nearby Kalamar with its beach clubs and water sport facilities, sea fishing, visiting Patara beach or a shopping trip to Fethiye or nearby Kas.

Dalaman is the most convenient airport, served by many charter airlines from airports all over the UK. Antalya is an alternative but it is a 3 hour journey but with spectacular coastal views.

Since the new tunnel was opened the journey time by road from Dalaman to Kalkan has significantly reduced to well around one hour and forty minutes.

Car hire is available at the airport and the journey is very straightforward being a main road until the outskirts of Kalkan.No major towns to negotiate on the way.

We can arrange a taxi transfer to meet you at any time, cost £55 for up to 3 passengers one way.
A mini bus for 4 to 7 passengers costs £65 one way, alternatively transport for 8 to 14 costs £80 each way

“A little Gem” Sky appartment has everything going for it. The decor is modern and very welcoming after the long journey from the Airport. It's clean ,well equipped and being part of the Emir appartments complex it has a great position over looking the town and bay. I have stayed in Kalkan numerous times and so i know the layout well and having stayed at various hotels and appartments over the years but i think that Emir, and in particular the Sky appartment is the pick of the bunch. Needless to say I've already booked for next year!

“A Fantastic Place!” This was our first trip to Turkey and we were constantly told that we had picked the jewel by choosing Kalkan. It was the most lovely place- beautiful, clean and friendly. There were plenty of bars and resturants to choose from- all fantastically priced. The Emir Sky apartment was excellent. It was comfortable, very clean and extremely well equipped. It had a spacious terrace which provided all day welcome shade and aircon in all the rooms. The views from the terrace were stunning.It was well placed in Kalkan- with the main supermarket a few mins down the road and all shops and bars easy to walk to. We didnt need to hire a c ar- just used local mini buses to go to places further afield. The swimming pools were fab- always plenty of sunbeds and umbrellas and never too crowded. Our children made loads of friends. I think what was so special was to see ALL the children staying in the apartments playing together in the pool. The ages ranged from 3 to 15 but they all got on so well. Many families return year after year and it is easy to see why. A lovely, lovely place.

“Everything you need! What a view!” The apartment was in an ideal location, set within the hills giving you fantastic views of Kalkan. It's about a 10 minute walk right down to the harbour but the streets are lined with restaurants all the way down, the closest one just 2 minutes away. The apartment has two pools so we were never short of a sunbed (in September). The apartment is really well cared for and has lots of ameneties so you don't have to buy everything at the supermarket. There are staff on site who are really helpful. You will be out of breath walking back up the hill to the apartment but you can't really avoid that anywhere in Kalkan! Get a taxi if you need to. I would definitely recommend the apartment, we couldn't fault it.

“The perfect Holiday” Visited Kalkan with the family twice before and stayed in villas, however Lizzies' apartment beats the villas hands down. The location of Sky is excellent, the views are amazing and no scarey hills to tackle. The apartment itself is clean, very well equipped, bright and modern.....Lizzie has thought of all the little details which makes this apartment nice and homely. Having 2 swimming pools is a real advantage, 1 tends to be a family pool so all the kids have a great time and the lower pools tends to draw adults and is quieter so everyone is happy, also plenty of sun loungers...never a need to leave towels out. Kalkan village is beautiful and has amazing restaurants and lots of trips available if you can drag yourselves away from the pools and the view at Sky. Local supermarket 2mins away so if you want to eat on the beautiful terrace supplies are just on your door step. Its perfect! My six yr old son Oli says the beds are so so comfy and the pools are orsom.....so we will be back as 2 weeks was just not enough. Thank you Lizzie for a fabulous holiday.
