About the home

Villa Saray is a luxury 3 bedroom 3 bathroomed villa perched high on the hillside of Kalamar Bay. Its location ensures stunning views of the bay and surrounding mountain areas. All of the double glazed doors and windows have anti-mosquito screens to aid your comfort. Although the Council's policy of spraying is vastly reducing their numbers and they hope to eradicate them completely. All 3 large en suite bedrooms have stunning sea views and large sea facing balconies with ample shade, seating and tables. The master suite has a strong box fitted for your valuables security, and your peace of mind. Nothing has been left to chance in Villa Saray and your needs are more than catered for. ***In 2011 we added another water storage tank giving us a total of 3 tonnes of stored water in case of water cuts we are monitoring the situation and can add another tank if we feel it necessary***
***During the building season of 2011 (winter), we will be raising the roof on the top floor bedroom although the roof will still be sloping, it will be at least 2 foot higher than its present lowest point***
Swim in the private infinity pool or lounge on a wooden sunbed with plump mattress on the large, sun all day terrace all, with amazing views. We are sure you will not be dissapointed with Villa Saray.

The beach clubs and swimming platforms of Kalamar Beach Club and the Kulube Hotel are a short walk downhill. Here you can swim in the crystal clear and warm waters of the Mediterranean.

Upon arrival at villa Saray, you will be greeted by our English speaking, Kalkan living manager named Kazim Oguz. Kazim will be only too pleased to answer any questions or queries that you might have thus enabling you to relax and start your holiday immediately. Kazim also has his own Home Cooking business so you may want to have him to cook for you at some point throughout your stay
Please note, At the end of September we heat the pool via a solar loop. This is dependant upon the hours of sunshine and no guarantee is given to the temperature of the water.

Facilities

Further details indoors:
Within Villa Saray the bedrooms and lounge have powerful air conditioning units. These can be used for either hot or cold temperature control. All 3 bedrooms are equipped with powerful hairdryers to save you having to pack yours. In the bathrooms you will find that shower gel, liquid soap and plenty of toilet tissue is provided for your entire stay and not just the first few days. Ladies, the only thing you may need to bring is your favourite shampoo and conditioner although most varieties are on sale in the supermarkets. We provide you with good quality pool towels . We also provide a large quantity of beach towels for your use should you want to go to the beach,a beach club or on a boat trip, this saves valuable space and weight in your suitcase. Check other adverts and you will find this is lacking from most. The only thing we ask is that you wash these towels when you have used them away from the villa.There is a Turkish mobile phone provided in the villa so you can call locally and order a taxi, take away pizza! or even a full meal (Cafe Vita)

The separate,fully fitted and equipped kitchen has a gas hob and electric oven. Should you want to cook for yourself you will find everything that you require here. From providing a simple snack, to cooking a complete meal 3 course meal. We have even provided two toasters in the kitchen so no one has to wait for their toast in the morning! There is also an electric filter coffee machine for fresh coffee lovers.
In the lounge, there is a flat screen TV with Digiturk satellite.which shows many English channels including Eurosport and Nat Geo wild. It is also possible to change the language on many of the other channels to English. Incorporated within the Television are DVD/CD and ipod docking station. We do have a collection of films on DVD and are adding more all the time. Please feel free to bring your own.
In the master bedroom there is a top quality Yamaha desktop audio system which has USB,CD,DAB/FM and iPod modes and alarm funtions.We have now fitted a strong box within the master bedroom thus allowing you to lock away your valuables and laptop should you bring one. In the second bedroom there is a CD/Radio player with speakers. In the third bedroom there is a top quality Yamaha desktop audio system with DAB/FM tuner, CD and USB port along with alarm functions. We have provided a collection of CDs for your enjoyment.
Also in the third bedroom (top floor) we have provided a drinks tray with auto kettle, tea,coffee and sugar pouches so that you can have your morning cup of tea or coffee whilst taking in that gorgeous view without having to go downstairs to make it!.
NEW FOR 2011. In response to some of our clients "wish list" requests, we will be raising the roof in the top floor bathroom and installing a walk in shower cubicle, whilst still keeping the large double ended bath with shower attachment and of course its spectacular view!
We are also replacing the lounge suite with a new one which will have 2 sofa's and 2 armchairs. Although the present suite is only 2 years old, we constantly strive to keep Villa Saray in a perfect and pristine manner and we hope you will notice this and take care of our home as though it were your own.

Further details outdoors:
Outside you will find the large pool terrace with shower, wooden sun beds with matresses, and 3 parasols.To one side of villa Saray there is a large tile covered seating area with rustic benches and square marble table ideal for midday snacks and those preferring a bit of shade. To the other side of villa Saray is the large outdoors dining area with tile covered canopy and "ayres rock" with atmospheric coloured lighting, large marble table seating 6. Portable Barbecue and teak serving/drinks trolley. The beauty of these tile covered areas means that even if it should rain, you can still sit outside and dine, or just sit and while away the time. Ideal, for early or late holidays where you have the chance of rain, but the temperature is still warm. .
To the rear of villa Saray there are washing lines for cloths/towel drying.

Further details

A welcome pack will be provided for your arrival at the villa and will contain tea, coffee, milk, 5 litre bottle of water, wine (1 bottle of red &1 bottle of white), orange juice, fresh bread, butter and jam. If your flight is a very late one you may also find that eggs and a "toaster loaf" have been provided so that you can have breakfast before going shopping

We also provide for your entire stay, liquid soap,toilet tissue and shower gel in all of the bathrooms, and cloakroom. Also provided for you are washing up liquid and dish washer tablets. Washing machine powder and fabric conditioner.

Should you require anything else to be bought for your arrival (Coke, lemonade fizzy drinks etc) please let us know beforehand and we will instruct our manager, Kazim to buy it in for you. You can then pay him upon your arrival.
EXTRA TERMS & CONDITIONS - Please Read. Smoking is only permitted on outside terraces. BBQ must be left clean and ready for use, if not a cleaning charge will be levied. There must be no eating or drinking in the pool. When using the infinity pool,no diving, jumping or booming into the pool. You use the villa and its facilities at your own risk, and we recommend you take out relevant personal insurance. It is mandatory when renting villa Saray that all persons have suitable holiday insurance.

Conditions

A non-returnable booking deposit of 25% of the total cost of the accommodation will be required on confirmation of your booking. The outstanding balance to be paid 8 weeks before departure date. A £200 breakage and damage cheque will be required with your final balance payment. This amount to be returned within 2 weeks of the end of your stay upon satisfactory property inspection.

Please note due to the number of steps up to, and inside the villa, and the hilly surrounding area the villa may not be suitable for the elderly or infirm.

The villa is not, and will not be equipped for very young children. There is a NO SMOKING policy inside the villa.

The Turquoise Coast/Lycia region

The Turquoise Coast/ Lycian region of Turkey seems to have it all. Beautiful clear water, which really is turquoise! Endless soft sandy beaches and reminders of a bygone age with a plethora of amphitheatres, mausoleums and ancient cities.

As if that was not enough, you have the Lycian Way which is a 509 km way-marked footpath running from Fethiye to Antalya which snakes around the coast and mountains offering spectacular views. Little wonder so many walkers love this part of Turkey. Most people come to Kalkan for the sunshine, but this area makes a wonderful winter break as well due to the warm days, spring flowers that abound and the still warm sea. The days are warm enough to wear a tee shirt and also sunbathe, although the evenings can be a little cool.

The Kalkan / Kalamar Bay area

Kalkan is a beautiful old trading port nestled in between the Taurus mountains and the Mediterranean Sea. Due to its distance from the airport, it has thankfully escaped much of the mass tourism of other areas within Turkey.

The narrow, cobbled streets and alleyways of Old Kalkan house many little shops, galleries and boutiques, their walls covered with an abundance of multi-coloured bougainvillia. All streets lead down to the pretty harbour where fishing boats and gullets bob about in the brilliant sunshine. These traditional wooden sail boats leave harbour each day transporting holidaymakers to the outlying islands and secluded bays where you can swim,sunbath or just listen to the ocean gently lapping the boat, followed by a simpleTurkish meal on board. A day out not to be missed.

By day Kalkan is a sleepy village, as people relax by their pools, relax on Kalkan Town beach, or catch a free water taxi from the harbour to a beach platform/beach club or explore the surrounding areas. By night Kalkan comes alive as the restaurants, with their twinkling lights and beautiful roof top terraces temp you with their menus!
If you tire of sitting by your own pool why not walk to the Kalamar Bay Beach Club just 5 minutes away. Here you will find sunbeds, parasols free internet access and the Kalkan Dive Centre should you want to try scuba diving. There is also water skiing, jet ski banana etc,The Beach Club has a restaurant overlooking the bay which is also open in the evening.
There are numerous taxi's and also a local mini bus runs regularly from the harbour of Kalkan to Kalamar Bay.

“Great villa great resort” We have just returned from a wonderful holiday to Kalkan. The villa is great with everything you need in a villa holiday. The area is quiet and very beautiful with lovely views. Kalkan itself is a great resort with many very good restaurants and wonderful food of a very high standard. We can recommend a boat trip with Ali on the boat called Zeus that you book in Kalkan harbour. We will certainly come back!!

“Lovely Villa” Very nice villa with everything you need for your holiday in quiet area. Cleaner, gardener/poolman and manager-Kazim are all really welcoming. Kalkan is a really great resort with many very good restaurants,with great food and good service. We visited all the beach clubs. Wonderful that you can get a free ride to and from Kalamar Beach club. Supermarkets are fairly limited but it is great that they all deliver for free. We used the Define Tour company for the day trip to the sunken city and the canoeing down the Xanthos river. Both were well organised and really good value for money, though you can haggle the price down! You really do not need to hire a car the taxis are really cheap. We would all return to Kalkan and I can't think of anything about the holiday that could have been improved. If you have teenagers who like the night life they might find it a bit tame in Kalkan.

Please Note. Our pricing structure is geared to the rise in temperature througout the year when more electricity is used on cooling or heating. Electricity in Turkey is very expensive hence the rise in price of the rental.

Check out time.To enable our cleaner to prepare the villa for the next guests the check out time will be no later than 11:30 a.m. on the day of departure. We will of course try and accomodate you where possible if your flight is a late one, but this will depend on the incoming time of the new guests.We will however store your luggage until your departure.Retention of the villa after 6.pm will constitute an additional days rental.

Additional midweek clean & bed linen change, cost per booking £35.
