KALKAN a Mediterranean town on the beautiful Turkish Riviera sitting at the foot of the Taurus Mountains. It gently rises from the bay and can be reached on foot, by taxi boat or by taxi from Patara Prince. Kalkan is charming with brilliant blue crystal-clear sea, ancient history and warm traditional Turkish hospitality. Narrow cobbled streets, lined with many shops and boutiques wind their way down to the pretty harbour and small beach. Kalkan transforms at dusk as it begins to bustle with activity. An abundance of restaurants, many of them set on roof top terraces offer a culinary delight, with wonderful views over the bay of Kalkan.
BEACHES & ADVENTURE
PATARA BEACH with miles of golden sand features regularly in brochures as one of the Mediterranean’s most beautiful beaches. Entrance to the beach is through the ruins of the ancient city of Patara, with a triumphal gate, baths, a theatre and a few temples.
KAPUTAS a lovely sandy beach is nestled at the foot of a striking mountain gorge. The water is always a brilliant turquoise blue. Kaputas beach is about four and a half miles from Patara Prince.
KAS a town with life revolving around the town square and harbour with many restaurants and cafes to stop at and watch the world go by. It is worth noting that on the sheer rock mountain wall above the town there are a number of Lycian rock tombs, which are illuminated at night.
SCUBA DIVING - the Mediterranean with its warm, calm, tide free seas with great visibility make this area ideal.
MOUNTING TREKKING in the mountains of Lycia offers some of the most beautiful scenery in the Taurus range.
PARAGLIDING tandem or solo; take a trip to Kas where there is an excellent and well known paragliding centre.
HORSE RIDING - the ride begins at the stables in Patara and takes you along the river until you reach the beach, where you have a chance to cool off and have a swim. After this we continue our ride along the country tracks stopping for a while by a lagoon.
SAKLIKENT GORGE is the ideal place to visit if you are feeling especially hot. The gorge is 18km long and so steep and narrow that the sun does not penetrate, so the water is icy cold. The gorge is approached along a wooden boardwalk above the river and opens out to a series of wooden platforms suspended above the water, where you can buy and eat trout at one of the specialist restaurants.
LYCIAN HISTORY - for more information on these sites please visit: www.lycianturkey.com
XANTHOS a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the six principal cities of Lycia. Xanthos was the capital city of the Lycian Federation and its greatest city for most of Lycian history.
LETOON was the sacred cult centre of Lycia; it’s most important sanctuary and was dedicated to the three national deities of Lycia - Leto and her twin children Apollo and Artemis.
TLOS best-known for its fortress-topped acropolis, with its rock-cut tomb-covered sides and its 360 degree panoramic views. As one of the six principal cities of Lycia and one of the most powerful.
SUNKEN CITY OF KEKOVA - along the shore of Kekova Island are Byzantine foundations and ruins, partly submerged in the sea - the Sunken City.

Palm 235 Patara Prince is a fabulous villa which has been lovingly refurbished. The interior is tastefully decorated with lovely furnishings. Very clean villa and with all the amenities you require. I would recommend this villa to all friends and family and I would return here without a doubt. Palm 235 exceeded my expectations and look forward to returning here in the near future. The grounds of Patara Prince are delightful with 3 outdoor pools to choose from, our favourite being the infinity pool which we had to ourselves most days. There is a delightful outdoor area at Palm 235 overlooking the Med where you can sit and chill in the evenings. This is a definite in our books for a return visit. Guestbook for Palm 235 Patara Prince
SARA (Nov 2011): Had a fab time, thank you so much for letting me stay in your holiday home and it was so good to be in Kalkan again.
JANET (Oct 2011): We had a great holiday in Kalkan and the apartment was lovely. We went in October so a lot of the facilities at Patara Prince were closed, but it was still a very comfortable place to stay and in easy walking distance of the beautiful town of Kalkan.
ZOE (Oct 2011): We really did have a lovely holiday, thanks. The apartment was fantastic and had everything we needed, from a comfortable bed, DVD player when it rained, and lovely pool facilities. Really enjoyed eating dinner on the balcony and watching the sun set, although feels like it was some time ago now... Back to reality!
STEVE (Sep 2011): You have tastefully decorated the apartment and left the homely welcome factor in there as well, which not many people achieve - well done. We have had a lovely relaxing holiday on our second visit to Kalkan. We have been to Doy Doy, excellent steaks, we also went to Adams, he collected us and bought us back, so over did the wine and brandy! Had a wonderful night, Turkish home cooking was wonderful and his daughters are delightful. Thank you Martin for all your help and meeting us.
JACK (Sep 2011): More than we expected and Kalkan is a delight, both Martin's were ever so helpful.
SHELIA (Sep 2011): Just got back from a relaxing week at Palm 235, it really was special for me and no flaws. I have and will continue to point out Patara to friends - I do totally recommend it! Thank you again and hope to return another time. Take care.
HEATHER (Aug 2011): Firstly can I thank you for kindly finding me alternative flights when Aegean went into administration. The service both prior, during and after my holiday was exceptional, with extremely useful information to help make our holiday one to remember. Palm 235 is absolutely delightful having been lovingly refurbished and the interior design is stunning. Stewart and I spent many a happy hour on the balcony just chilling drinking wine and watching the cats Tabitha, Jerry and Rosie play on the balcony and enjoying the food and milk. There is everything in the villa you could want and we were delighted that Martin shared his holiday home with us. This is a place we would definitely come back to and will tell friends and family about Palm 235 and the lovely resort of Kalkan. This was our first time to Kalkan and we absolutely loved the place and will definitely return to this little gem. The gardens of Patara Prince are lovely to walk round and we enjoyed our time mainly at the infinity pool which we usually had to ourselves. The lower pools were usually very busy, so we chose the infinity pool most days. Kalkan town is a delight and the people are extremely friendly. Please use Martins phrase book which is in the safe as when you try to speak Turkish their eyes light up and its really appreciated. Kalkan at night comes alive and the rooftop restaurants are amazing. Our very favourite was Gironda. The area you sit for a pre dinner drink is wonderful. The food and the service second to none. Other restaurants we enjoyed were Doi Doi and Olive Garden. Another must for you holiday makers is a trip on one of the boats in the harbour, this is a great day out with a superb lunch, then fruit and cakes and tea in the afternoon. Its highly recommended and extremely reasonable for a full day out at sea. I hope you all enjoy your stay at the wonderful Palm 235. Kind regards Heather & Stewart
KIRSTY (Aug 2011): We enjoyed our stay in Palm 235, watching the kittens playing and sitting on the terrace with a cold drink at the end of a hot day was lovely! The apartment was lovely, clean and well maintained. It had everything we needed and the AirCon was very welcome! Many thanks for all your help and assistance, the customer service was second to none. Thank you.
LEE (Aug 2011): Just to say thank you for your help and your lovely apartment was great, we enjoyed our holiday very much and sad to be home and missing Kalkan. I hope the cat and kittens are okay and are not to much trouble for the new holiday makers. The location is good for Kalkan and Kas we would fully recommend Palm 235. Have a good season and thank you once again.
MATT (Jul 2011) - The resort, the town and the apartment where absolute paradise, I cannot tell you! I would just like to say a quick personal thanks to Martin for everything he did to make the holiday so fantastic, getting our shopping, always responding to my emails and advising me on activities and so on. Many many thanks, Matt and Jess.
KAREN (Jul 2011) - We have had a fantastic holiday here in Kalkan, your apartment is lovely well equipped, beautifully decorated, clean and inviting. It was also nice to meet you both on our arrival and communication prior to our arrival was informative and welcome. We have spent many evenings eating at some lovely restaurants and truthfully you could eat somewhere different every night. Whilst there I suggest you try "Adams", he will collect you from Patara Prince Resort and drop you home again and at no cost. It is a family run restaurant using home grown produce, the lamb shank is fantastic, give it ago, you won't be disappointed. We are already planning our next visit to Palm 235. Thank you.
JOHN (Jun 2011) - We had a great holiday, your service has been first class and the fact that we have just re-booked for 2012 says it all. Thank you.
STEVE (Jun 2011) - It was good to meet you, think your the first owner we have met in person, it was a nice touch. Excellent value for money, would definitely recommend to others, the apartment was also in excellent condition and lovely and cool in very hot conditions, as for your customer service it was the best we have experienced in 5 years of private renting .We would definately consider renting and recommending your lovely apartment again. Bye for now.
MADELEINE (Jun 2011) - WOW this was the best holiday we have ever been on! There are lots of reasons for this. THE APARTMENT - beautifully decorated, cool and inviting. THE WEATHER - lovely and hot. KALKAN - very safe and friendly, our favourite restaurant was Doy Doy which we went to most. Saffron was also very good. THE RESORT - is spectacular, the gardens are beautiful and the adult only pool was idilic. Thank you so much for lending us your beautiful apartment we love it here.
LIZ (May 2011) - Missing Turkey already!! Thank you we had a lovely time.
KERRY (May 2011) - Loved Kalkan, loved patara prince resort and villa. wish we stayed longer than a week, was very sad to leave. hope to return again soon. the villa was very well kept and had every thing we needed.
VITTORIO (Apr 2011) - Absolutely perfect for us. We will be back next year.
ROSE (Apr 2011) - We had a great time at Palm 235 and would happily recommend it to friends and family for their holidays! We found the apartment itself, as well as the view and surrounding area to be beautiful. Although the weather wasn't quite as hot as we thought it would be, we thoroughly enjoyed relaxing, exploring the local area and eating lots of great Turkish food; the people we met were all incredibly friendly and hospitable. We also left a note in the back of the guide book for you and some information for future guests - it was a really nice touch having comments that people who had previously stayed there had left, with info. about good local restaurants and things we may not necessarily have found out easily on our own. Thanks for making the holiday very easy and providing a beautiful place to stay!
TIM (Apr 2011) - We had a great holiday in Kalkan. Service is excellent and the apartment lives up to its advertising. We really would recommend staying at Palm 235. Thanks.
REBECCA (Sep 2010) - We had a fabulous holiday staying at Palm 235. The apartment has been the perfect base for our 2nd holiday in Kalkan. The apartment is beautifully decorated and wonderfully refurbished. The terrace with views of Kalkan Bay is incredibly picturesque. We had a jam packed 12 days, here are a few highlights. 1) Moonlight Boat Trip - with Ali on his boat Zeus, you see amazing sunset, get to watch Ali snorkel at night with a torch and spear gun your dinner, then enjoy a wonderful meal under the stars. 2) Saklikent Gorge - second time we have done this a still loads of fun. 3) Patara Beach - wonderful sandy beach. 4) Kas at Night - we got a taxi (cost 70 TL) wonderful fish restaurants, we loved The Dolphin Restaurant. 5) Restaurants in Kalkan - we ate out every night, and we think its amazing value for money. We loved Aubergine, Saffron and Istanbulls and finally 6) Cocktails at our favourite bar - Al Fresco. We had a great time and would recommend Kalkan and Palm 235. Thanks
ELIZABETH (Sep 2010) - A great apartment, which we enjoyed as much this year as last. Martin is a kind host, who takes great care of his guests, making sure that all is as required. Kalkan is a lovely place: beaches, nearby river for canoeing, restaurants etc.
DANIEL (Aug 2010) - Our second stay at Palm 235 was every bit as positive as the last one. I firmly believe that 235 offers fantastic value for money and a great standard of accomodation, which has been improved further since our stay in 2009. We will be returning again, and would encourage others to do likewise!
CARLA (Aug 2010) - Patara prince resort is a secret little haven. The apartment was absolutely wonderful. We enjoyed all the amenities that Patara prince offers .The shuttle bus is a god send on those sunny days and the choice of pools are fantastic. We loved going into Kalkan to the many different restaurants and traveling by the hotels shuttle boat. We also enjoyed some nights cooking in the villa and eating on the terrace in candlelight. The beaches especially Patara beach was fantastic. The staff were superb on the resort and the boat trip with the mud bath was great value for money. All in all we so enjoyed our stay here and will definatly be booking another trip to Patara prince resort. Martin thanks for making our holiday run very smoothly.
STEPHANIE (Aug 2010) - We had a wonderful holiday in Kalkan and the apartment was absolutely perfect. We could have done with an extra few days as we were so relaxed and comfortable - but unfortunately its back to the real world. We have recommended your apartment to our parents already, who were unable to come with us this time. Thank you so much for making our holiday that much easier, the personal touches and communication have made all the difference. I think your customer service is exceptional. I have thoroughly enjoyed the experience of Kalkan, Palm 235 and the service received from you. Thank you.
DONNA (Jul 2010) - What can I say the apartment was beautiful, very tastefully decorated (loved the bedroom) everything that you needed for your stay was catered for. Loved sitting on the balcony with an Efes and just chilling out. The complex was outstanding the gardens something else. I dont think there is anything you could do to improve the apartment and the customer service from yourself and Mehmet down to your cleaner could not be faulted. Hope one day to return to Kalkan and would not hesitate to book Palm 235 again. Thank you.
DENISE (Jul 2010) - We had a really lovely time. Palm 235 was perfect. The apartment was really comfortable and had everything we needed, love the little garden as well with the table and chairs - spent quite a few evenings with a glass of wine out there. The cleaner came every few days and did a great job and was really friendly. We had some regular visitors to the garden, a mother and her kitten which was really nice. The apartment is good value for money, it has all the facilities you need even a dishwasher. Many thanks.
SANDRA (Jul 2010) - Just had another fantastic week at Palm 235! The apartment is fully equipped and excellent value for money with everything you need for a relaxing holiday available in the apartment and on the resort .Martin and Marty make booking this apartment very simple and hassle free and are always available with any queries you may have. I would most definitely recommend Palm 235 to anyone looking for a relaxing, value for money holiday. Thanks guys for all you do and giving us another fantastic holiday to remember long after the tan fades! Thanks Sandra
COLIN (Jun 2010) - Many thanks for a perfect stay at Palm 235. It's obvious you have put a lot of effort into making this place special. Both Karen and I were also grateful for the meet and greet at Patara. We have stayed in a number of advertised 'quality' apartments but found your one to be far the best we have stayed in. Everything you state in your description is correct. We really dont think we could get better value for money. As for Patara Prince Resort, we thought it was stunning. We mainly stayed around the main pool in the daytime and went into Kalkan in the evening. The people there are so friendly and helpful, to be honest it is not something you get in most resorts. I would definitely recommend Palm 235 and if we return to Kalkan we will be in touch. Regards Colin and Karen
PAUL (Jun 2010) - We had a fantastic week and the apartment was excellent, we found the accommodation to be of a very high standard with a good location within the resort. The shaded terrace was a big bonus to get us out of the very warm heat and provided a lovely place to sit in the evenings.
SUSAN (Jun 2010) - We really loved our time at Palm 235. The apartment itself was beautiful and very well equipped. A lot of extra special touches around the place, the candles and so on. I was thrilled to see wild tortoises on the path! Patara Prince is really a taste of luxury. We felt totally pampered for the whole time. Kalkan was great fun and we had some wonderful meals out. Would thoroughly recommend the boat trips available. We thought the one going from Kas was superb. Going in early June meant that some of the facilities were not yet open at PP, but this was not a problem at all. Some days we were by the pools all by ourselves! Great to use the swimming platforms and having the benefit of sea-swimming without getting covered in sand. You were such a great help before during and after booking with you and again in the resort. Everything was absolutely perfect - we cant wait to sort out next years trip, maybe even later this year!!!!
ANNE (May 2010) - The apartment is located about a 5 minute drive from Kalkan but you can see the town from Patara Prince Resort. The apartment itself is renovated to a very high standard with all mod cons and everything you need, with a lovely terrace where my husband and I used to sit outside watching the sun go down with a glass of wine! It is at the top of the resort but there is a free shuttle bus on hand all day to take you up or down to the main pool. The pool is very quiet with lots of sunbeds and very relaxing and a restaurant overlooking the sea is very close. We enjoyed many lunches and a couple of evening meals, which were absolutely delicious. The staff were very friendly and helpful and seemed to really enjoy chatting to people. We enjoyed it so much we have booked for next year, I can honestly say it is the nicest place we have ever stayed and have already recommended it to friends and family.
GIGI (May 2010) - We really enjoyed our stay in your Patara Prince apartment. Its cosy and well organised. The resort is quite impressive from the architectural point of view and the gardens are great. The location of your apartment is away of common paths so there are not many people passing by your terrace. This a very good point. Also the little garden is an important extra when you have a child like us. The apartment was cool and the stone very nice. Its a great location and both adults and kids can enjoy it. I have recommended your apartment to a few friends and colleagues. Thank you and all the best.
PAUL (May 2010) - We loved our holiday in Turkey and really enjoyed our stay at Palm 235. The apartment was ideal for the 2 of us and as we were particularly looking for a quiet environment were delighted that this proved to be exactly what we had. Thank you Martin for coming to settle us in, much appreciated. This is an apartment we will certainly keep in mind for future holidays. While restaurant standards in Kalkan are virtually universally very good we particularly enjoyed "Zula" for quality and reasonable prices. Overall we loved it and we really appreciated all your help and advice and the use of your lovely apartment.
ALASTAIR (Apr 2010) - We had a very enjoyable time in Palm 235 & Kalkan in general. Palm 235 was exactly how it was described and it was a fantastic place to stay. Accommodation was lovely and everything that we required was there.
SAMANTHA (Apr 2010) - This certainly is a gorgeous & very romantic villa. The beautiful interior & furnishing, with all mod cons made every moment here perfect. The stunning views, pools & town take your breath away. We both felt so relaxed & safe it was hard to leave. I would like to thank both Martin & Martin for the tremendous help you offered through the Volcano caos. With up to date info & help towards getting us home safely. We are both extremely grateful & look forward to our next visit.
ZACHARY (Apr 2010) - Palm 235 was a clean, beautiful villa nestled in a gorgeous region of Turkey. Martin was exceedingly friendly and helpful. My trip to Palm 235 and Kalkan was incredible and will be well remembered. Thank you very much.
SIMON (Apr 2010) - Our 3rd visit to the stunning Patara Prince Resort set in beautiful Kalkan. We love it here - its our own little peace of heaven. Palm 235 is a real gem. We found your apartment full of character, well equipped and very smart and clean. We particularly appreciated the dishwasher - who wants to do the dishes on holiday? We enjoyed many glasses of wine watching the sunset from the apartment terrace and of course dining at our favourite candlelit restaurant in Kalkan. Thank you Martin for all the help and advice throughout and for saving us money too with our flights, car hire etc. Overall, a very romantic and supremely relaxing break - perfect. We highly recommend Palm 235 - excellent value for money! We are already talking about our holiday with our friends. Hope to see you again next year - this time for longer.
JANE (Nov 2009) - Just returned from a very enjoyable stay at Palm 235, cannot comment on a lot of the facilities as we were out of season (end Nov) but we were very warm and comfortable in this tastefully decorated apartment with wonderful views. Excellent value for money and we would definitely recommend this apartment. Overall we would rate this as an excellent holiday property with helpful and informative customer service.
DAVE (Nov 2009) - We had an excellent stay at the Palm 235. The value for our money was unprecendented. The privacy and quiet were all we needed. We were able to cook easily as there were enough utensils. It certainly met our expectations, if not exceeded. I would certainly recommend it to others, and we would stay again. Thank you Dave and Cheryl
JEFF (Nov 2009) - We have had a great stay here in Kalkan and we have especially enjoyed the world class restaurants that can be found here. We thought your customer service was excellent. Thanks.
ELIZABETH (Oct 2009) - We recently stayed at apartment Palm 235 and had a wonderful week! The apartment was clean, fully equipped, comfortable and well situated with lovely views across the bay. Patara Prince resort was also great, with beautiful swimming pools and lovely landscaped grounds. The nearby harbour town of Kalkan has excellent restaurants which welcomed us with our 5 year old son, and we ate delicious food every day! Local beaches were easily accessed for great swimming in the sea. Martin himself went out of his way to make our holiday a good experience, answering interminable questions by email before we set off and ensuring all was well during our holiday. I thoroughly recommend Palm 235!
LOUISA (Oct 2009) - Overall we had a fantastic holiday and absolutely loved Kalkan. Palm 235 apartment was extremely good value for money and suited our needs. Your customer service was fantastic and exceeded our expectations.

DANIEL (Sep 2009) - We had a fantastic holiday! We loved apartment Palm 235 and loved Kalkan and wouldn't hesitate to return. Martin went out of his way to answer any questions we had (there were a few!) and even met us on arrival and showed us around which was much appreciated. Thanks for such a lovely holiday.
REBECCA (Aug 2009) - We had a lovely holiday, aided by you. The apartment was lovely and views amazing. I would definitely recommend Palm 235 to everyone I know. Thankyou so much for a fantastic holiday.
DANIEL (Aug 2009) - Great apartment, great setting, great time. Will definitely be returning. Thanks to Martin for prompt responses and help offered, throughout the booking process!
ALESYA (Jul 2009) - Palm 235 is a very nice apartment which is situated in a convenient location (car park, shop and infinity pool). It is clean, comfortable and would be perfect for a small party.
CATHY (Jul 2009) - Excellent accommodation in a superb resort. Would definitely recommend to family and friends. Kalkan is one of the nicest places I have visited. The information on restaurants in the booklet in the apartment was useful and we visited most of them. Customer service was excellent throughout.
SANDRA (Jul 2009) - We stayed at Palm 235 the 1st week in July 2009. Everything about this holiday was idyllic, the apartment was wonderful, very clean and well equipped and we found the terrace lovely in the evening, just to sit and relax and watch the sunset. The resorts facilities were excellent, we spent many hours relaxing at the infinity pool. We would thoroughly recommend this apartment rental to anybody that wants to experience the delights of Kalkan and can't wait till we return next year. Thanks Martin for a fantastic, relaxing holiday.
ALISON (Jun 2009) - Thank you for providing such a lovely apartment in a wonderful resort. Palm 235 is perfect for a couple or small family, very clean and well furnished. It is situated on the higher levels of the resort so wonderful for taking in the scenery and views as you make your way down to the facilities of the resort. All the staff we met and spoke to were very friendly and helpful. We took the half day Boat trip out which takes you to one of the outlying islands (about 30mins away) to swim and experience a ‘mud bath’ and they provide a BBQ dinner onboard before heading back to the resort. Was definitely worth it - we could sunbathe on the boat or swim in the sea when anchored up but it was most memorable for the views of the coastline and refreshing sea breeze! We visited Kalkan by boat from the resort (3lira pp) and by taxi (10lira) – only a few minutes away for restaurants and to browse around the shops. The harbour is perfect for people and boat watching. We also spent a day at Patara Beach, just 15mins away by car. The beach has good facilities and is vast! Although we only stayed 4 nights, we didn’t feel rushed as the atmosphere at the resort is very relaxing and tranquil. We would definitely recommend staying at Palm 235 at Patara Prince Resort to anyone looking to stay around the Kalkan area and we look forward to returning there ourselves.
