About the home

Brand new luxury apartment in a privately owned block of three, literally two minutes' walk from the centre of Kalkan! Sea views overlooking the bay and the islands. Furnished to a high standard. Very light and airy with full air conditioning. One double bedroom and one twin sleeping a maximum of four . One stone shower room and loo. Kitchen area has granite work surfaces and is well equipped. Spacious living area with three piece cream suite and mosaic stone dining table which seats up to four.Free Wi Fi available on request. The apartment includes all linen and towels and is cleaned weekly. Extra linen/towel changes and cleaning available by request.

There is a large outside terrace area with private pool shared between just the three apartments. Furnished with wooden sunbeds and cushions, parasols, coffee tables and bean bags. The pool and terrace area is cleaned daily .

The apartment has two bedrooms: one double with sea views and one twin and can accommodate up to four people. It is very light and airy and have natural stone floors throughout and is fully air conditioned. There is one stone walled shower room with WC and basin.

The kitchen area has granite work surfaces and is well equipped with cooking utensils and has an oven and hob with extractor fan. The living area is extremely comfortable having a cream coloured three-piece suite and coffee tables. There is a mosaic stone dining table with seating for up to four persons which can be moved outside to give alfresco dining The apartment is equipped with a computer wi fi facility available on request. It is non smoking and we would ask people to respect this but there are ample ashtrays provided for those who wish to smoke outside.Welcome pack on arrival and an English speaking representative available at all times for any queries.

The apartment block is on three levels. There is a large outside terrace with ample wooden sunbeds, bean bags , coffee tables and parasols. There is a barbecue and outside shower facilities. There is a washing line discreetly hidden down the far side of the building.

Rentals are weekly from Monday to Monday with check in time being 3pm and check out time 12pm but we will be flexible where ever possible.We take a £100 deposit in case of damage which will be returned on your departure. 50% rental fee taken at time of booking with the final 50% due eight weeks before departure please.

Conditions

The apartment is not suitable for young children and we do not let to groups of teenagers.

The Turquoise Coast/Lycia region

Kalkan is situated in the Antalya region on the Mediterannean Lycian coast. The climate is very mild in winter and from the end of April to October mainly sunny with very little cloud or rain. It is an area steeped in history with many archaeological ruins such as Xanthos, Letoon, Patara and Tslos. There is also the famous Lycian way, an absolute glory for walkers during the cooler months of the year. Kas, a working harbour town, is just 25 minutes' drive away and Fethiye a much larger town is situated 1 hour's drive in the opposite direction. There are also the gorges of Saklikent to visit and the tomb of St Nicholas. Unspoilt mountain villages and spectacular views across the islands.

The Kalkan / Central Kalkan area

Kalkan is famous for its fabulous restaurants which are plentiful and a delight to any gourmet. With a wide choice on offer there is something for every palate. In the pretty harbour it is possible to hire a boat for the day or go on a trip. Kalkan has its own small pebble beach and several very comfortable private beach clubs to choose from. If a long sandy beach is what you desire then Patara has to be one of the best in the world, with a long expanse of 12km of unspoilt natural terrain and only one beach cafe and a few sun beds and parasols for its entire length. This is only a quick 15 minute journey away; alternatively, in the opposite direction you will find Kaputas beach, known for its beautiful blue waters. There is paragliding and horse riding also available and many excursions.

Kalkan has a local Thursday Market which is full of trinkets and bargains, not to mention a good fresh food market too! In the heat of the summer there is nothing more cooling than going to one of the local trout farms in the mountains and enjoying a meal of freshly cooked fish and salad. For the younger traveller Kalkan offers an amount of water sports at the private beach clubs and there is also diving widely available. In the evenings there are several bars some of which play music and offer dancing for the more energetic.
