The Turquoise Coast/Lycia region
Climate ranges from 80 degrees and 11 hours of sunshine in May to 94 degrees and 13 hours of sunshine in July, down to 80 degrees and 9 hours of sunshine in October. Kalkan lies in the heart of the old Lycian region, between Fethiye and Kas. It is surrounded by the Toros mountains. Imagine white villas, covered in bougainvilla, winding streets, roof terrace bars and harbour-side restaurants. Once a simple fishing village, today's Kalkan is quietly sophisticated. There are no high-rise hotels.
The famous, completely unspoilt Patara beach is 18 km long and is a 20 minute bus ride away. The ancient sites of Xanthos, Letoon, Pinara, Tlos, Myra and Patara are all close to Kalkan.
Kalkan area
The villa is located 100 yards on the right on the road the turns down from Kas towards the roundabout where the taxi rank is. It is approximately 75 yards up from the Post Office.
Kalkan has a pebbly, man-made beach to the east of the harbour but is more renowned for its beach clubs around the bay. Many roof terrace restaurants and bars in the Old Town and along the harbour. The service is wonderful. Night life is restricted to a small number of music bars.
5 minute walk from the villa to the centre of the Old Town and the bars, cafes and shops. Wonderfully scenic during the day and magical at night.
A day trip on one of the Turkish gulets is a must - wonderful scenery, lots of sunbathing and good food.
Local market every Thursday.

Guestbook
K. Skelton (August 2005) Just to let you know we had a wonderful holiday. The villa is beautiful and we loved the way it was furnished and decorated. To swim in the pool with the view of the sea was great and we spent most evenings on the terrace. We will recommend your villa to everyone. Taylors (September 2005) Lovely relaxing holiday - great accommodation. We shall be back J. O'Neill (August 2005) We had a great holiday and the villa was a major factor. The close proximity to the town was a tremendous plus and the facilities exceeded our expectations. Helen's friends (2006) You nearly had squatters - they did not want to go home.
