The apartment's lounge area is spacious and tastefully decorated, as is the well-equipped and modern kitchen. The bathroom has been recently decorated and contains a recessed shower. There is a balcony which provides a lovely space for coffee, or glass of wine!
There is a pool (9 metres x 5 metres) which is for resident use only and is habitually very quiet. A jacuzzi pool adjoins the main pool. The surrounding terrace contains comfortable loungers, parasols and tables.
A roof terrace tops the property and is furnished with comfortable seating, tables and parasols. There is a stone barbecue and bar area which makes it great for al fresco entertaining. The terrace also provides spectacular views of both Kalkan and Kalamar Bays.
Kalkan is one of the most beautiful resorts on the Lycian coast. The narrow cobbled streets and whitewashed homes give the village great charm and the tasteful local crafts, leather and ceramic shops make for a vibrant street life. The local restaurants make delicious use of locally grown produce and the nearby caught -to-order fish restaurants are definitely worth a visit. The nearest beach is located just to the east of Kalkan's harbour. There is also a scuba diving centre in the village.
The beautiful Kaputas beach is a ten minute drive away or Patara, 11 km of golden sands, once voted by The Sunday Times as the best beach in the world, is a 20 minute drive away. The village is served by a good taxi service and the local dolmus buses provide a very reasonably priced way of seeing the sites. The Lycian coast is renowned as a location of antiquities going back as early as the Bronze Age and sites such as Xanthos and Letoon are a must.

The Turkish Mediterranean Coast region
Lycia is rich in history; sites such as Patara, Xanthos and Tlos are easily accessed by taxi or dolmus.
Kalkan is a beautiful town, with quaint cobbled streets and picturesque views. Local shops offer leather goods, ceramics and jewellery.
There are plenty of restaurants which serve locally-sourced ingredients and suit a range of tastes; the marina area offers a particularly impressive range of eateries, although there are also a number of very good fish restaurants in the surrounding mountains and within five miles of the town. There are several large supermarkets offering plenty of fresh fruit, vegetables and essentials and smaller butchers and fishmongers.
There is a market every Thursday with stalls that groan under the weight of delicious fresh produce, but also local ceramics and textiles. Oh, and of course, Turkish Delight!
Kalkan town itself has 400 metres of beach past the mooring. Parasols and sunbeds are available for a daily hire charge of around £3. There are plenty of cafes and bars in the vicinity. Activities such as diving and scuba can be organised in the harbour and beach areas. It is also possible to organise a range of day boat trips with guides at the harbour. The dolmus service is both reliable and reasonably-priced (£4 return to Patara, for example).

"A beautiful place to just ' be'....."
A modern, airy and tasteful apartment in a very beautiful and relaxing location. The amenities were excellent, the pool clean and well kept and the views from the terrace were spectacular. The convenience of the shops, bars and beautiful beaches all nearby made it a very enjoyable stay - thank you. We will definitely stay here again!

"Wonderful holiday, can't wait to go again next year."
Kalkan is one of the best resorts in Turkey, suitable for all ages, the locals are friendly and welcoming, there are numerous restaurants, catering for all tastes from fine Turkish home made cuisine to a 1st class Chinese, plus the simple egg and chips. Only a short distance up in the mountains are several fresh fish farms, serving some of the best meals ever. The shops are great, silver, leather, pottery, olive oil goods, spices, lanterns ++ For those interested in ancient history you can visit many places within a day. Daily boat trips for a relaxing time and a swim in the sea. Kalkan Weekly market is a must to visit, if only for the smells of fresh spices, and the fresh local grown fruit and veg. The Lale appartments are located a short walk (15mins) from Kalkan town up a hill, we always enjoy the walk into town and the views are superb. The appartment was very clean, well equipped, comfortable beds, with two small balconies to watch the passers by. There is a great roof terrace ideal for sitting with a glass of wine and a chat, or a full scale barbeque with friends. The view from the roof is terrific, a great place for photos. The pool in the garden/patio was well maintained and very clean, a great place to sunbathe or just relax under the umbrellas. Next door to the appartments is a small well stocked shop selling provisions, newspapers, icecream and blow up lilos etc. Above the shop is a classy cocktail bar open in the evenings. Over the road a restaurant/bar all very friendly and welcoming. Kalamar Beach Club is a 10/15 min walk downhill in the opposite direction from the town, well worth a visit. Patara Beach is a few miles away, one of the best beaches in the world, well worth a visit, either by bus, the cheapest way or taxi or hire car. We loved every minute of our stay at The Lale Appartments in Kalkan, and will definitely be going back next year.

"A wonderful holiday"
Had a fantastic holiday in part of the world where there is nothing not to like. The apartment was light and airy, the beds comfortable, and the apartment had all we needed. Enjoyed our evenings on the roof terrace. A great plus, too was the well appointed shop next door

"Perfect location for a wonderful holiday!"
The location is great because you can have the tranquillity of the apartment & the fabulous pool area and then walk down the hill to the lovely selection of shops, restaurant's & bars. There is something there to suit every taste, or have a bar-b-q on the roof terrace of the apartment which has panoramic views of the coast. We will definitely go again!
