About the home

The villa has 4 double bedrooms (all en suite) and 1 with twin beds plus a further 4 'fold away' beds, so sleeping up to 14 in comfort. The closest amenities are a 10 minute flat walk away.

Panoramic sea views from wherever you may sit. The pool terrace has plenty of sun loungers, parasols and a soft seating area with attractive sofa and chairs. There is a Turkish Love Pod and a matching covered swinging sofa. A circular marble table seats 12 for outside dining, and a purpose built stone/gas barbecue with rotisserie for outside dining. An extra large parasol covers this area ensuring your dining in comfort. Listen to your favourite music from the 5 speaker pool side sound system and wherever you are on the terrace you will have stunning sea views of the bay.

The infinity pool, 1.3m deep all over, has no dangerous deep end and is ideal for pool games. The roof terrace has another marble table, seating 10, soft seating under a wooden pergola and a swinging love chair.

A small kitchenette with fridge and all kitchen utensils and a second gas barbecue for rooftop dining while looking out over the bay to the front, or to the towering Taurus mountains to the rear.

There is also a further hot and cold-water dispenser. There is also a WC and washbasin on the terrace.

And...finally...for your entertainment there is a fully equipped games room, with pool table, air hockey, table tennis, table football and a 38" flat screen TV with Wii + games. There is an assortment of board games and books. Seating by bean bags ... and .... amazingly .... yet again...the games room also comes with wonderful sea views.

There is one superking bed and 3 king size beds so space is no problem in Kalamar Dream. A continuous balcony to the first floor bedrooms, with seating and tables for each room. Exceptionally large kitchen dining area with marble island and bar stools. Integrated dishwasher, hot and cold-water dispenser, plus seating for 10 people in comfort, in short all the things you would expect from your kitchen at home. There is also a fully equipped utility room with washing machine. The salon/living area has quality leather seating, a 46" flat screen TV, wireless broadband and wireless keyboard. A media centre, DVD player, Ipod docking station, Skype telephone and CD player all for your entertainment within a 4-speaker surround system. Floor to ceiling concertina doors let the outside in, in this fabulous villa.

Water Sports:Enjoy a varity water sports in Kalkan including; scuba diving, sea kayaking, water skiing, jet skiing, banana and ringo rides, sailing or ever renting a boat to take you to the nearby beautiful bays for swimming and sunbathing.

Jeep Safari:A 180km round trip in a jeep convoy off the beaten track: explore the ruins of the ancient cities of Tlos and Xhanthos, see the art of carpet and kilim making at a traditional factory; cool off in the icy rapids and streams of the hidden

Saklikent Canyon; and relax on the white sands of the 18km long Patara Beach. In our opinion, this is absolutely the best day out around.

Boat Tours:To sail and enjoy the surrounding bays and beaches why not join the daily boat tours? Most boats are located in the harbour . Local boatmen will take you along the coast for cruising and swimming on several standard excursions. No matter which excursion you take you will have lunch on board included in the price. One popular excursion is to Kekova and Ucagiz, about two hours away by boat. You can go over to Kastellorizon (Meis Adasi), the Greek island just off the coast, visible from Kas, for the day returning to Kas in the evening. Check on the current status of Kastellorizon as a port of entry. Other standard boat tours go to the Blue cave, Patara and Kas or to several small islands. For a three-day (two-night) yacht cruise along the coast expect to pay about 75 GBP per person, on a shared-yacht basis or cabin charter.

The Turquoise Coast/Lycia region

On a beautiful day in the middle of the winter it is a pleasure to walk on the hillsides overlooking the sparkling waters of the Mediterranean, basking in the sun and enjoying the perfume of thyme, laurel, and sage arising from the "maquis". On such a day it is not rare for the temperature to reach 20°-22°C. (70°F) This temperature climate is the reason for a non-stop agricultural season which keeps the farmers busy the whole year round with an average of 300 days of sun per year.

The Kalkan / Kalamar Bay area

Kalkan is a small Mediterranean resort known as the Beverley Hills of the Turquoise Coast.

Cobbled streets wind down to the small harbour where visiting yachts lie at anchor and gulets line up to take visitors out to Snake or Mouse islands which appear to float on the crystal clear water.

Kalkan is a small town with a cosy intimate feel about it, the visitors return year after year, and many have purchased properties and built new lives there, enjoying at least 300 days of sunshine and far away from the pressure of the outside world.

Kalkan is unlike other resort towns in that the main economy is derived from tourism and much pride and energy is put into the welcome given to visitors and foreign residents. Preservation of historic buildings is given priority and because of this Kalkan has retained its ‘olde worlde’ character alongside economic movement towards western influences.

The narrow cobbled streets are alive with colour, from bougainvillea draped over Ottoman balconies to the hand crafted bowls and kilims on sale in the small shops.

For such a small town there is plenty to do. Your holiday, or your lifestyle can be as busy or as laid back as you choose. Start your day with a typical Turkish breakfast on the terrace of your hotel, villa or apartment, or in one of the many harbour side restaurants and watch the fishermen bring in their catches and the day trippers go out on the gullets.
