About the home

Detached villa with own pool and 3 en suite bedrooms and free wi-fi. Villa Palm offers a wonderful quiet setting on the hillside overlooking Kalkan Bay yet within a 20 min stroll to the village. There is a private pool with excellent terracing, a practical shaded verandah, garden, balconies and fully furnished roof terrace. Fantastic sea views from pool terrace and all rooms. The villa is furnished to a very comfortable standard.

The living room which has air conditioning has an open fireplace, flat screen TV with English speaking channels, DVD player, CD player/radio, i-pod docking station, free wireless wi-fi for guests. 1 x 3 seater sofa, 1 x 2 seater sofa, armchair, double patio doors to covered verandah and large patio/pool terrace.

There is a large fully fitted kitchen with cooker, hob, extractor fan, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, microwave, electric kettle, toaster and cool water dispenser. Dining room table, seating for six, double doors to covered verandah and large patio/pool terrace.

Downstairs WC with washhand basin.

Bedroom 1 with king size wrought iron bed, en-suite, patio doors to shared balcony with stunning views.
Bedroom 2 with wrought iron double bed, en-suite, patio doors to shared balcony.
Bedroom 3 with twin beds, en-suite and access to superb roof terrace, again with stunning views.
All 3 bedrooms have en suite shower rooms and air-conditioning.

House phone supplied for free local calls ie taxis, restaurants or for your family to call you (cheap rates 1p per min from UK). We also supply a Turkish PAYG mobile which is handy for when you are out and about. The villa has a safety deposit box and is fitted with a security alarm. All windows have mosquito screens.

The villa is cleaned and the towels and bed linen changed twice weekly.

Beautiful large terraced area with fabulous, unobstructed sea views. Private pool with lighting. Outdoor furniture includes comfortable cushioned wooden sunbeds, parasols and drinks tables.

Large covered verandah with dining table and comfortable high backed chairs for 6. There is also a BBQ if you fancy trying your hand at Al Fresco cooking. Beautiful deep pink and red Bougainvillea together with sweet smelling jasmine climbs over the verandah and railings and dotted all around the terrace/patio area are terracotta pots overflowing with pretty, scented colourful flowers.

The bedroom balcony is furnished with comfy cushioned wrought iron sofas and a drinks table. The roof terrace is furnished with a covered pergola, comfy cushioned day beds, a drinks table and a wooden dining table with 2 chairs.

The pool and terrace are cleaned daily.

We do not take a breakages deposit, however as this is our home in Turkey we ask you to treat the villa with respect.

Conditions

Complimentary welcome pack, including a bottle of chilled wine, on arrival.
Ashtrays are provided however we ask that you please do not smoke inside the villa.

The Turquoise Coast/Lycia region

Kalkan is situated on the Turquoise coast between the towns of Fethiye and Kas. Nestled in a bay at the foot of the Taurus Mountains the area affords spectacular sea and mountain views. There are plenty of areas of historical and geographical interest within a short driving distance. Patara, Xanthos, Thlos and Myra, the river gorge at Saklikent and the famous beach of Olu Deniz are all less than 1 hour from Kalkan.

Boat trips can be arranged locally. A day at sea with a wonderful BBQ lunch and all for only £15 per person! Or you can visit one of the local beach clubs who offer private bathing platforms and steps into the sea, usually a small fee is payable.

The Kalkan area

During the day Kalkan is a quiet sleepy village. You can wander round the maze of cobbled streets, stop at a cafe for coffee, apple tea or a cold Efes beer and just watch the world go by.

At night Kalkan comes alive. It has over 120 restaurants serving a wide variety of choices with many offering roof terraces where you can dine under the stars and watch the sun set over the sea. After dinner you can relax in one of the music bars, stroll along the harbour or visit many of the quaint shops which stay open until very late.

Kalkan has several banks (with ATM machines), post office, doctors surgery, pharmacies, supermarkets and the usual array of shops selling jewellery, shoes/handbags, ceramics, paintings and carpets.

Although it is without a doubt, the people of Kalkan who make this a very special place and have friends returning year after year.

The villa is a 15 min stroll to the village.

Dalaman airport is an approx 1.5 hours drive. Antalya Airport approx 3 hours. Transfers from airport in air conditioned car or minibus can be arranged. We can also arrange car hire at excellent rates.

“Location, Location, Location” Having arrived at this villa at night, we woke the next day to the most spectacular panoramic views of Kalkan, which could not have been better. The facilities within the villa were first class, with so much attention to detail provided - even the vast selection of music which catered for all tastes - fantastic. Beautifully decorated, furnished and very comfortable. The directions to the villa provided by the owner were very good - even when travelling at night. The location was brilliant, with amenities in easy reach, although a car came in useful when sightseeing. A superb selection of restaurants could be found in the harbour and up in the mountain - with some providing a free taxi service. This was certainly a holiday to remember for all the right reasons and one to highly recommend. Response: Thank you for taking the time to write a review, it is very much appreciated. Villa Palm is fantastic! - contemporary, spotlessly clean, spacious with excellent aircon in a good location. I could not fault my experience in this accommodation in any way, it is the best in Kalkan!!!! The villa owners gave great advice and have thought of absolutely EVERYTHING for you to enjoy your holiday. They are very friendly, helpful, informative and nothing is too much trouble. An english speaking contact is also nearby should you have any additional questions whilst there. I would recommend the villa for anyone who is looking for a peaceful, relaxing break in luxury surroundings.
