Poppy Villa is in the perfect location to enjoy wonderful views of Kalkan without the need for a car. All balconies face the outstanding Kalkan Bay and pool offers private bathing for 6 people in comfort.
Each bedroom is large with beautiful bedlinen, and contemporary furniture to compliment this villa which is of an exceptionally high standard. Poppy Villa has everything to make your stay extremely comfortable.
Enjoy a G&T and watch the sun go down over Kalkan Bay while you decide which of the 140 Restaurants to visit in Kalkan. After dinner wonder through the cobble streets which house an array of shopping opportunities or head for the beautiful harbour. Whatever you do Poppy Villa is the perfect place to stay in luxury.

Kalkan, described as Turkeys best kept secret, is a small, sophisticated resort set on the Turkish Mediterranean Riviera.

A Sunday Times article likened visitors to Kalkan to those attracted to Tuscany and the Dordogne, we agree entirely. Kalkan is for the discerning holiday maker.

The Kalkan / Central Kalkan area

The town nestles on the foot of the Taurus mountains and was once a small fishing village, it is now a charming holiday resort consisting of cobbled streets, housing interesting shops selling jewellery, carpets and local goods. One can enjoy bartering with the shopkeepers and their hospitality offering of apple tea.

Enjoy a beer at the bars on the picturesque harbour, admire the gullets, the fishing and sailing boats, or hire for the day your privately skippered boat and be taken to the coves for a swim in the turquoise sea, sunbathe, enjoy the food, all at unbelievable value.

Visit the small pebbled beach close by the harbour or the local beach clubs and enjoy the water sports available, such as snorkelling, scuba diving and wind surfing.

Hire a car or join a local excursion to visit one of the many historical ancient sites such as Patara, Xanthos, Tios, a trip to the Taurus mountains or the amazing Saklikent Gorge.

Enjoy mountain walks, climbing, trekking, caving and parascending, have a relaxing Turkish bath or massage to ease away the aches and pains.

In the evening sample some of the finest food at the harbour side restaurants or those with roof top terraces offering views of Kalkans wonderful illuminated nightlife.
Kalkan consists of narrow cobbled streets which all lead to the picturesque harbour.

It has a wonderful array of restaurants where you can sample some of the finest cuisine in the world, many with roof top terraces offering a wonderful view of the harbour and the starlight night sky. Alternatively you can watch the gullets and fishing boats from one of the many harbour side restaurants. There are a few bars available in both areas for a relaxing drink at any time of the day or night.

Market day is Thursday selling a wide variety of goods including locally grown produce,particularly good value are the herbs and spices. In the town there is a wide selection of shops selling beautiful Turkish carpets, jewellery, antiques and wonderful clothing made from the finest Turkish cotton which open well into the late hours. There are also several
supermarkets some offering delivery service to your villa.

There is a small pebbled beach by the harbour and there are also beach clubs available which offer relaxing sunbathing and swimming in the warm turquoise ocean. Some of them offer water-sports such as snorkelling, scuba-diving, wind-surfing, diving, sailing, fishing and other fun activities. For the more energetic you can also take part in mountain climbing, trekking, parascending, caving and walking, all available locally.

On those days when you wish to venture away from the resort why not visit one of the abundant ancient sites from the Lycian era. Close by are Patara, Xanthos, Letoon and Tlos, or further afield are the marvellous sights of Kekova, Myra, Olympos and even Ephesus. One of our favourites for all the family is to cool down at the amazing Saklikent Gorge.

Kalkan, once visited will never be forgotten and is often re-visited, we certainly fell in love with Kalkan and it’s wonderful people and we hope you will too

“Amazing Villa, wonderful location and extremely well equipped” Poppy Villa is the perfect place to stay for a wonderful 2 week relaxation in the wonderful town of Kalkan. The villa is really home from home with everything you could possibly need to make it a perfect holiday. The villa has great views of the bay and is close enough to the town to stroll down to the shops and restaurants. Elaine was a great help with any questions we had about Kalkan, and organised any little extras we needed including our transfers.
