Villa Angelika is situated in a small hillside development aptly named Paradise, overlooking picturesque Kalkan village. Kordere is the area of Kalkan north of the Sutlegen road at an altitudeof ~1000'.
Paradise is a gated complex owned and run by the Kaska family, a delightful local Turkish farming family. The site consists of the owners private villas and three large villas used by the family for rentals as well as a few privately owned villas including villa Angelika owned by UK residents. All the villas have terraces and private pools and in addition there is a bar/cafe on site for drinks and snacks. The complex is block paved with good street lighting at night and a token operated barrier for access and security.
The Kordere area of Kalkan is rural and mainly agricultural with scattered local houses Villas and farmhouses set in abundant olive groves in the foothills of the Taurus mountains. The area is quiet and peaceful with spectacular panoramic sea and mountain views and amazing sunsets. The villa enjoys cooling mountain breezes making alfresco living more comfortable for both adults and children in the summer heat.
Spend your days admiring the views, sunbathing on the terrace, relaxing in the shade of one of the pergolas, or enjoying a cooling swim in the pool and watching the spectacular sunsets over the mountains. There is a full sized outdoor table tennis table and full size table football for the more energetic. The onsite cafe/bar serves breakfast & lunch .
Take the Paradise shuttle bus to Kalkan with its upmarket bars restaurants shops and harbour with frequent excursions around this beautiful part of the Turquoise Coast or hire a car and explore this beautiful historic area yourself.

This villa is designed for comfortable modern living with all facilities and amenities for a luxurious and relaxing holiday in spectacular surroundings.
Accommodation consists of ;
Entrance hall with marble stairway to first and second floors.
Ground floor hallway with separate WC and access to open plan kitchen and lounge. Bright sunny well equipped kitchen opens onto terrace, with views of both mountains and sea.
Spacious lounge with sofa seating, 32" HD LCD TV with DVD and twin satellite connection giving a reasonable selection of English programmes including BBC news channel and children programmes . A selection of DVDs is provided including some children's titles or bring your own ( not Blu-Ray) . Patio doors open onto large pool terrace.
Two bedrooms on ground floor both en suite one double with bath and access to patio and small garden, and one twin with en suite facilities and shower with road and mountain views.
First floor consists of a full width master bedroom family complex with a wrought iron emperor size bed (210x200cms), two large covered sea facing balconies, one with wrought iron/marble table and two chairs, and one with two sunbeds, an en suite bathroom with large corner zacuzzi bath, a spacious sitting area with two sofas/chair, including HD LCD satellite TV/ DVD player, as well as a large en suite children's bedroom/nursery with two single beds, and separate covered sea facing balcony. This room can also be used as a standard twin, NB this twin is only accessible from the master bedroom lounge area and is ideally suited to a family with children. Also on this floor is a large double en suite bedroom with emperor size double which can also be made up as two singles, as well as one full sized single wrought iron bed making this an ideal spacious double or triple family room.
All bedlinen and towels are 5* quality for your comfort., with maid service weekly.
The roof terrace has a spectacular pergola covered ottoman sitting area, as well as ample sunbathing space, sunbeds and umbrella. The roof terrace is available to all our guests.

The swimming pool has a separate children's area making this villa ideal for families with young children. The large travertine terrace and balconies are surrounded by sturdy wrought iron railings so your children can play safely while you relax and enjoy the surroundings. Pool cleaned daily.

Free scheduled shuttle bus to centre of Kalkan (5 mins) NB if the shuttle bus is used outside scheduled times a charge will apply. Taxis are cheap and plentiful and can be orderd by phone.
Stone BBQ should be left as you would expect to find it. A cleaning charge may be applied if required.
Conditions
Strictly No Smoking.
The site is quite steep and not really suitable for guests with mobility problems, although the villa itself has two ground floor bedrooms with en suite facilities one with direct access to a patio garden area.
20% non- refundable deposit required at time of booking. Balance of holiday must be paid within 8 weeks of departure date.
Any breakages must be reported to Paradise management.
Security deposit of £200 at time of final payment. Minor breakages glasses plates etc if reported will not be charged to our guests. Your deposit will be returned to you by our agents in Turkey after you have handed back the keys and they are satisfied there have been no chargeable breakages or damage. In thre event that there have been chargeable breakages or damage they will agree a figure with you and refund the balance. The maximum you may be asked to pay will not exceed the amount of your deposit.

The Turquoise Coast/Lycia region
The area known in antiquity as Lycia occupies part of South Western Turkey's mediterranean coastline. It is now known as the Turquoise Coast in recognition of the deep blue colour of the coastal waters. It is steeped in history with a rich variety of cultural remains in Patara, Xanthos, Tlos, Demre, Letoon, as well as natural attractions including some beautiful sandy beaches at Kaputas and Patara, and the spectacular natural gorge at Saklikent and lagoon at Oludeniz..
Bustling Fethiye (ancient Telmessos) is well worth a visit. After sightseeing and shopping, visit the covered fish market by the harbour and barter for your lunch from a wide variety of freshly caught fish, before taking your "catch" to a local restaurant to be prepared and cooked. Perfect!
A trip down the Coast past the pretty village of Kas brings you to the ancient sunken City of Kekova-Simena drowned in an earthquake in 2nd century AD the ruins still visible through the crystal clear waters and overlooked by a Castle built by the Knights of St John.
Further down the Coast is the modern town of Kale/Demre with some splendid Lycian tombs as well as being the bishopric of Father Christmas who was born in Patara near Kalkan!
The name Lycia means "country of light" and this is as true today as it was in antiquity with around 300 days of sunshine every year.
The Kalkan / Kordere area
Kordere is the area of Kalkan to the North of the Elmali/Sutelegen road. It is situated at an altitude of 1000' and consequently has uninterrupted panoramic views of Kalkan village, the bay and islands. The housing in Kordere is more traditional with a mixture of local Turkish houses, farms, and Villas scattered amongst established olive groves.
Kalkan and its sister village Kas are traditional "Greek" fishing villages. A visit to the bustling local markets in Kalkan on Thursday or Kas on Friday is a must. with local traders outdoing each other in selling "genuine" fakes
Kalkan is an upmarket resort with lots of excellent restaurants particularly in the harbour area where most have terraces with sea and harbour views, but you will need to book early for the best seats. We particularly recommend Marina, Trio, Doy Doy, Akin, and The Ivy. Staff are all very helpful with children.
The picturesque old quarter is protected from development and still reflects its origins as a Greek fishing village with steep cobbled streets and old houses clad with bouganivillea .
Access to the Paradise complex is off the main Elamli/Sulingen road along a paved road for about 150yds. The villa and complex have block paved roads throughout and although the site is steep it is easily accessible by cars and minibuses.
On arrival into Kalkan on the D400 turn Left at the traffic lights and follow the Elamli/Sutlingen road . At the hairpin bend after 1km turn Right signed Elamli/Sutlingen for approx 1km. Paradise complex on Left well signposted. Follow concrete road to left until you reach entry gates to Paradise complex ~100m. Engage low gear up the hill (very steep). Keep going to the top level and Villa Angelika is the third large Villa on the Right.

Fly to Dalaman - 1hour 40 mins transfer to Kalkan.
Fly to Antalya- 3 hours transfer to Kalkan. Useful only if you want to take a few days visiting Perge, Aspendos, Olympos, Demre en route to Kalkan. Consider flying out to Antalya and return via Dalaman or vice versa.
Airlines- Thomas Cook, Thomson, Monarch, and a number of other budget airlines fly from most national and regional airports in UK. Easyjet now flying to Dalaman from Gatwick and Manchester. Pegasus a Turkish scheduled airline flies daily from Stansted to Dalaman via Istanbul at very competitive rates. Pegasus also flies direct to Dalaman from Manchester. Turkish Airlines from London or regional airports inc Birmingham via Istanbul also reasonably priced.
Car Hire
If picking up a car at Dalaman our first choice is Central cars Kalkan who are totally reliable and provide a range of well serviced new vehicles and will also pick you up and transfer you to the Villa.
We also recommend dalaman cars who have a good range of new vehicles inc Fiat Doblo and minibuses for larger parties

The villa was fantastic and we had a great time in Kalkan and surounding area. We made some great trips based on fantastic and patient advice from Ken. - Fethiye for the fish market and restaurants - Petara beach - Kekova Boat tour - Seklikant gorge/Tubing down the river/etc - Restaurants in Kalkan were great value and great food also perfect for families. All of these made a fantastic all round trip for both my parents and the children which is not always easy. The villa is fantastic with all the requirements that a family would require and more. |

Availability notes:
The Property is not available from November to March. this is off season in Kalkan and although some bars and restaurants remain open, the winter weather can be "challenging", pools are emptied for maintanance, and we do not reccommend winter trips at this time.
