The Turquoise Coast/Lycia region
The Lycian land is isolated by the Taurus Mountains to the north, making the area very distinctive in character. Rivers flowing from springs in these mountains have created fertile valleys with alluvial deltas. At the southwest corner of the Turkish Riviera lies one of the most beautiful and unspoilt areas of the Mediterranean. This region was known in antiquity as Lycia. The mountains of Lycia are covered with the typical maquis and are dotted with wild olive and carob trees on the slopes, whereas oak, pine and cedar forests can be found on the higher grounds. Cedars as old as 2.000 years can also be found in the region. Lycia has a typically Mediterranean climate, with hot dry summers and warm wet winters. The sea temperature rarely drops below 16oC, allowing eight to nine months of bathing every year.
The broad, open Mediterranean offers a real turqouise colour under the sunshine. it has a truly fascinating effect as nature unfolds in front of you inviting you to join its swing. The area offers the visitor plenty of activities, both on and off the water, and a variety of places of interest to visit, whether your particular interests are steeped in history; enjoying the regions outstanding natural beauty; or just relaxing, there is something for everyone . The region, and Kalkan in particular, displays one of the world's lowest temperature differentials between not only day and night, but also summer and winter. This temperature climate is the reason for a year-round agricultural season, with an average of 300 days of sun per year.
Kalkan / Central Kalkan area
Lining the narrow streets winding up from the harbour are typical stone houses with characteristically small shuttered windows and timber balconies. Whitewashed walls, contrasting natural woodwork, charming courtyards, gardens and criss-crossing cobbled passages create the Kalkan atmosphere. As you descend down into the town, the striking red-tiled roves and pediments of the Kalkan houses give the feeling that you are entering a traditional and unspoilt town. Kalkan has undergone a certain amount of modernisation, while still keeping the character of an old town with a rich history and cultural heritage, which is clearly reflected in the traditional buildings to be found in the heart of the community.
KALKAN, the heart of the ‘Turquoise Coast’, is an idyllic fishing village with a sweet marina where traditional fishing boats, modern yachts and gullets intermingle eachother in a painting setting. The traditional narrow streets of Kalkan takes you inside its atmosphere of Med-style village. It is an unequaled experience to be lost between the steep uncontinous streets and then confronting the charming ambience of sea view between old terraced houses of Kalkan architecture. Kalkan offers an extensive range of delightful and atmospheric restaurants, from the relaxed simplicity of local home cooking, to the sophistication of the fabulous harbour-side and rooftop restaurants. There are supermarkets (offering delivery service), butchers, bakers etc. as well as a wide range of local crafts, antiques and fashionable jewellery and clothing shops.

The swimming pool shares the same fantastic Kalkan view. You can enjoy this view laid on wooden lounge/daybeds on tiled terrace around the pool. The area is completely private. There is also parking space for 2 vehicles on the outside. All open spaces are very spacious and suitable for large groups.
